Cast saws aren’t supposed to cut people because they don’t actually spin. The vibrate back and forth, kind of like hair clippers put very simply. I learned it from a video, so everyone has to know it too.

It is trully impressive how little dnd rules are used in this dnd podcast, and thats why i love it even if it pains my heart so much, i think the person who playd hank is the only one who read what their class does

Really late but read comments on a relisten of the series. I assumed they for the most part saw information on DnD Beyond character sheets but never looked into it much. Matt does admit that he didn't realize there were differences in saves and skill rolls somewhere down the line so he probably never knew about the half dmg while raging. On DnDB, it doesn't calculate your dmg taken for your so if you put -50, its -50 unless there is damage reduction prompt they added in.
It's important to realize that people who don't play particularly as intensely as others probably don't read those things. Some newer players may disengage if you forced them to follow every rule (Freddie stated that it fairly new for some of them, and still is especially for Beth, who actually has never played ttrpg till DnDaddies and is not a huge fan of board games).
they don't care if you like d&d run far far away from this podcast, I like it but its occasionally a D&D podcast

I understand the podcast is loosely a D&D podcast but Jesus between the way over leved fights and magic items breaking after one use I can't understand how Anthony sets anything up for a session
i was looking through the comments for this like I understand the revisor breaking on a nat one but a nat one should be the only roll that breaks a magic item. whats the point of having these cool ass items if you're just gonna break them immediately ?
I do kinda understand why they have the magic items break. Clearly they're trying to bring in items that the patreon memebers suggest, but to keep all the magic items from that would be over powered, not too mention hard to keep track of. So they have the items break so that they can bring new ones in
