I also have the new generation of this pack. The hypalon yoke system is gone the straps are just sewn into the pack, the small pockets in the flap are no longer fleece lined, the left side back zipper opens for accessing a hook-lined CCW compartment while the right side back zipper opens for accessing main compartment without opening top flap. The side pockets are redesigned where they zip from the bottom up to open this makes it hard if your water bottle is a bit taller than the zipper length. Front beavertail has double columns of MOLLE compatible Hypalon for addition of molle type pouches. Shoulder straps now have a single row of daisy chain loops for carabiner clips or sternum strap attachment if you have one. Overall the pack is still the same quality, the loss of the hypalon yoke system and the loss of the fleece lined pockets seem to have been a penny pinch without a decrease in price. The water bottle change, it’s not the best but it’s not a deal breaker. The other changes I’m indifferent on. Thanks for the video ✌🏽

Jeffrey, you’re hilarious. Awesome video. FYI the material of the bag is waxed canvas. I have a smaller GGG bag that I love made out of the same material. Because it’s waxed, that’s probably the reason the waterproof spray isn’t working. Lol it literally won’t stick. I’d try waxing it more heavily! I haven’t done it yet. But I know you can buy more of that wax to apply yourself to help water bead off. Give it a shot. Much love, brother ✌🏼
Do the side pockets expand enough to hold a vargo bot or is that too much?
Tacos and gun channels are the best.
You can buy a backpack rain fly for super cheap that packs down and stow it in the bag for rainy days. It slips over the whole bag kind of like a shower cap.

I'm so glad to see the Gypsy get some love here. Since its waxed canvas, I treat mine every year with Otter Wax canvas wax. This past winter was really wet so I had to treat it once more after I noticed the water repellency had degraded.

Chest seals are over-rated. Simple Vaseline gauze left on the foil works just as well, you can carry a ton and it's much cheaper.

Well he is both right and wrong. No chest seals aren’t over rated not by a long shot but if you have to Vaseline gauze and tape does work almost as well. I dragged my buddy to a medic and watched him save his life with them so I know it works. Ever since that day my ifak has both.
My gramma could make that bag white again
