Maybe some day Sony will introduce a modernised version of the Minolta 200 mm f:4 macro lens in all its splendour - naturally with updated AF (SSM) and possibly with higher resolution to match modern sensors. Then again, no normal person could probably afford such a lens.
Nice job, Pav! Really nice images too. Seems like a great lens! But what baffles me is that some other reviewers came to a competely different conclusion. Some of them said it wasn't recommendable at all and even utter crap. You must have a very good technique then... Or it could also be a quality control issue. So try before you buy! Cheers
Interesting. I did say it is hard to use few times in my video 😂 Optically it is solid but to achieve solid results, it takes some getting used to and some practice. It's not bad lens at all
Macro requires luck, patience and technique. Not to shoot coins on a table, but if your subjects are likely to move, and/or if you shoot handheld, don't put your faith in snapshots. High magnification is merciless, and even five stops of optical stabilisation will not be enough.
It seems to me that this is even very good for portraits. Beautiful bokeh (though apparently on about mtf) Where would you like to see the samples themselves ?
nice Pav, thanks for introducing! interesting lens and in EF mount maybe not the worst investment... if you still have that lens: how intense is the focus breathing?
@@PavSZ since you know those Sony Primes i believe you would call out a "lung made of glass" :) thanks again! i am a beginner in macro. breathing made me go crazy while taking macro pictures to stack beeing a filmer i imagined using this as a magic separator but a lens that can breath my composition away can drive me nuts, too might be a bit to special of a lens for me anyway to be honest... but i'll keep it on my list to be aware of :) 🙏
@@Behnam_Moghaddam Sony 90mm macro has got a lot of focus breathing. I don't think there are macro lenses that do not have any focus breathing, none that I know of.
This looks super interesting!
It is!
I love any lens that's just interesting, and this seems interesting. I kind of love that flare too
me too! The world be a boring place if all the lenses were perfect and clinical

that would be very cool if they did that

what is the question?

I still have it. I'm not sure how to define how intense is the focus breathing. It's not tragically bad, acceptable in my opinion
