How are you watching a show like Ted Lasso, a show on mentaI health, and you're trying to shame people for feeling something? feeling jealous is okay, just like feeling anything else. Everybody has the right to feel the way they feel. Feelings are not something we should be shamed for.
I love how it showed how well he knows the reporters now, calling them by their first name and commenting on small things like a change in hair colour. The vibe in the room is so comfortable now and you can tell they all enjoy asking him questions in a positive way. So different to how the reporters were at the start of s1- even they got character development 😂
I think Nate's interactions with the press is fascinating for the depth they put in to those scenes. He doesn't know how to be his own man, so all he can do is replicate the people he thought were a level above him. At the beginning he attempts at being soft and kind, in replicating Ted. Half way in, when he needs the strength to get through his anxiety, he does his spitting-thing and crass language, in replicating Roy. Then finally at the end when he needs that ego boost, he replicates the cold and petty mannerisms of Rupert. Because Nate seemingly has no sense of self, all he can really do is borrow from others, in the hopes he can be what he thinks others want him to be and expect him to be while also people-pleasing a bit too.
@joli7948So far it was explored why Jamie is the way he is and he had his redemption arc. Right now, Nate seemed to have shunned the growth he got during Richmond’s time under Ted. And also in my opinion, it’s selfish why he decided to turn his back on Richmond. Hopefully the rest of the season explores that backstory and Nate is set up to win everybody back.
@joli7948 Nate hasn't had his redemption arc yet... He's still a slimier person than Jamie, even after he greatly redeems himself. He's a small man with a small man complex letting everything piss him off, even innocent comments or actions from others (like when Ted is being kind to him). Jamie is a confident young man with a shitty past. The way Jamie and Nate deal with the exact same problem (daddy issues, seeking dad's approval) is way different. That's how people judge someone's character: the way they deal with problems and the way they get right back up, after being beat down.
A lot of reactors miss the fact that Nathan's opening words to the press are actually lyrics from a song called "Getting to Know You" from the musical The King and I. It's kind of hilarious because if you know the song, you know he realizes he's quoting it and then he just keeps going with it. Inside musical theater lover joke, I guess.
I really think you guys are doing a good job at this. Good format. Good attitude. The three of you together all really balance out the reactions, and you all have good chemistry together as friends. Another important and very good quality that you have is your intelligence and willingness to learn when you watch stuff that includes references you're not familiar with. That is a strong sign you're all good people. You're learning and growing as humans as you watch these stories and theatrical representations of characters and lives in the form of movies and TV. A lot of people don't appreciate film or television as an artform as much as painting, still imagery, or music and dance, et al., but your reactions are evidence of the power that these works can have by creating communities, influencing generations, and inspiring individuals to laugh, cry, worry, hate and most of all love. Your expressive enthusiasm and commentary about these stories which allow people to feel things we wouldn't ordinarily feel in our daily, bureaucratic, dulldrum, overly and unnecessarily obligated and demanding lives, lets us know we're less alone than we feel sometimes in our thoughts and feelings. So thank you. Thank you for being guys who are willing to cry in front of strangers when shit is sad. . . 'cause even in real life shit can get sad sometimes, and it's real. It's good to be real, and you guys are good. Please keep up the good work. There's endlessly great movies and TV shows to watch ahead, and you make a great "band" of reactors.
It's not that he's delusional when constantly looking at Twitter (X or whatever it's called now). He's looking for validation, something his negative father has never given him, but Ted did. It just turns out Nate's addicted to it and without it he goes full evil.
Before you guys get to the last episode of season 3 I wanted to say, after watching ted lasso I was going to rewatch all the seasons again then I see you guys reaction for the show so I was ……let me rewatch all the seasons with them before seeing it again by myself. I really enjoy every single episodes from season 1-2 u guys was so invested into the show and even the characters. You guys are awesome keep it up
A little disappointed that nobody picked up on Rupert’s office being a direct copy of Emperor Palpatine’s throne room on the Death Star in Return of the Jedi.
Nate obviously has issues, he was basically invisible. He had no respect and no luck, Ted is the one who actually took the time to get to know him and listen to Him. I think Nate finally felt important and seen, he is so afraid of going back to feeling like a nobody.
I think Nate was dying his hair black to look younger, when he was the kit man. As the episodes progressed, I think it was wearing off or growing out, and since he attained a coaching position, didn't feel the need to keep looking like a kid. I think this because he makes a comment about skin care and looking youthful at one point.
0:41 Gee, I don't know about that one fellas... I know we're supposed to dislike Nate at this point but there are several theories about why Nate's hair changed to a grey color but none of them (that I know of) mention his ego at all. The most popular theory is that his hair turned grey because of the stress of... well, being a _successful_ football manager (you have to admit he's GOOD at that). It could also be that his feelings of abandonment by Ted or his self-loathing that caused this stress as well. But then again, I suppose I am in the minority of not hating Nate, I just pity him if anything. I hope the old Nate comes back sooner rather than later.
I got a lot of grief by people in the comment section of this channel about my unwavering disdain for Nate. He turned into the very same person he was at the beginning of this show. He became a bully. Nate is sullen, resentful, petty and a bully. He's a jerk. When he outed Ted's anxiety issues publicly he lost me forever. I'm glad Ted is the good person he is when rising above that sort of thing. I know what it's like to be publicly shamed for having mental health issues and I don't care if it's a show or real life, I won't forgive that kind of betrayal. So keep complaining and coming for me. I've said what I wanted to say. I enjoyed y'alls reactions and commentary as always.
@kellifranklin4432 you don't have to forgive, that's your business. but do you have to Iie?... you're calling Nate resentful - aren't you resentful as well....? you're calling him petty - aren't you petty as well...? Okay lads. A warning (I'll keep it spoiler free). The next 4 episodes after this are a bit rough. They serve a purpose, and by the last scene in the finale EVERY plot decision the show made in the first half of this season makes sense/winds up having a good reason, but during these episodes a lot of viewers didn't like them. But be patient. Not only does the Finale support it all, but starting from Episode 6 on... you'll get the best episodes of the entire series.
Yeah there was a definite drop in quality but every show has it. The show still remains a top 3 for me though. They did well wrapping up the most important plot points
@@kaladinstormblessed8470 I never thought it got THAT bad personally, I still found it totally watchable, but around Episode 4 or 5 a whole group of articles appeared about what a disappointment the season was (and people online were saying that or worse). Hi could you do “Interview with The Vampire 2022” series reaction, a brilliant queer show with dark storyline, you’ll be shocked it’s amazing, hope you’ll do reaction for that
This episode was brilliant because Rebecca is pisssed with Ted not taking Rupert/Nate /West Ham seriously. Field of Dreams is a favourite film of mine and I’m from the U.K.
@jn4756 Yeah, the setbacks were why I didn’t like it. Part of my problem with it are that the setbacks they all had in season 3 were lessons they already learned. And so what if Roy and Keely are perfect? That’s not a bad thing, and they could’ve had the same s3 arcs while they were still together, and not much about the surrounding plot would’ve changed
"All he cares about us what social media sees him as, he's so delusional"......a sentence from someone who films themselves watching TV and posts it to the world...
I really loved this show but the fact that they kept politizicing every little thing really annoyed me. Wether it was immigration politics, LGBTQ+++ aceptance, womans rights. It was all a little bit too obvious. For some reason the Joe Rogan comment really annoyed te crap out of me. In that short phone conversation with Keeley they were very deliberately trying to paint him as being a masochist. I've been listening to his podcast for years now and although I don't agree with everything he says he's at least much more nuanced then the left idealogists that are smearing him when they have never even listened to his podcasts.
Really the only politics this show ever got into were Sam's storylines in 2x03 and 3x07. Please explain where you saw LGBTQ+++ aceptance and womans rights politics, cause I didn't see any of that

The real answer as to why Nathan’s hair changed the way it did is that his journey is meant to parallel Jose Mourinho.
