Benoit David did a commendable job, I sure hope wherever he is he takes pride in these days he was the singer for YES - he really was fantastic and is missed!
I think he surely takes pride in having entertained Yes fans with such commendable job, but in recent interviews he has said that he hated his time in the music industry, that Squire was unsympathetic with him when he was having respiratory problems, and that he has not spoken with any of his former Yes bandmates since he left, except for Oliver Wakeman
Benoît David was a far superior replacement than Jon Davison imo. He actually sounded like Anderson but with a French-Canadian accent lol. Far better than Davison’s rather whiny sounding voice in my opinion.
Blows my mind that Alan White was living just a few miles from me for years and I didn't even know it. One of my all time favorite bands - I bought 90125 and Big Generator on cassette in the 80s - incredible musicians. Alan White - "Nothing you can say takes me by surprise."
@@TexturaI That's true. It's been a year since I originally posted this comment, but I found my own sound, and I'm constantly tweaking it. Instruments are so cool!
Many people don’t know how good of a singer he actually was. Just listen to Fish Out Of Water and It Can Happen (Cinema version from the 90125 deluxe edition, Chris sings lead on it).
More amazing is Chris' ability to play what he is, in perfect counterpoint to his vocal lines!! And maintain the amazing propulsive FUNK of the bass line while singing lines poly-metrically opposed!
Wow - what a song. And this 2009 live version is great, seamless really. Great "imposters" as well - on Keys Oliver Wakeman - no wonder he's so good. Plus the singer does a great job. Wish I had been there.
Tina Rose Just look up Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. It’s an anime that used this song as its outro for part of season 1. That’s where everyone knows this song from nowadays.
Of ALL the live videos of this song, this is THE ONLY ONE we’re the sound engineer was on his game. The rest of them sound like shit. Thanks for giving us a great version!!
Now, imagine if instead of pursuing his career in metal, Ronnie James Dio instead got to this band. The memes would be unstoppable. That he didn't just... must be the worked of an enemy Stand! ...said Stand is obviously Black Sabbath, that's why he fused with the shadows so effortlessly.

@@pierceelyhibionada342 I get the joke you're reffering to the band r eo speedwagon
Dude that singer NAILED it even though it's not the original omg !
Singer has a terrific range! Keyboard player nailed it also ( not rick wakeman )!

@@b.j.surfdog3724 It’s his son
@@Tiberius_Productions I can’t stand Davison voice. Benoit was much better of a replacement. Love his singing on Fly From Here.
@@b.j.surfdog3724 The keyboardist is Rick's son Oliver.
can we just appreciate that the guy who uploaded this is still liking and replying to comments 3 years after it came out.
What a Bizzare performance.
I saw YES in the early 70's. One of the best bands I ever saw.
Chris Squier RIP 💔
He was a beast on this song!
Very longtime fan and I have to say that they never sounded better, even with the replacement crew members. Benoit David totally nails the vocals.
great performance as always, benoit david is the great replacement of Jon Anderson. and the bassline we will miss always

Steve Howe is a genius

Benoit David Nailed it Oliver Wakeman playing as well as his dad Rick Brilliant version
Looks like Marty's been teaching Doc Brown how to play the guitars!
The bass sounds so good! I just have GOT to get an amp like this!
why an amp? its pretty much all the rick

Great little jam at the end.
Chris Squire, the Best.
Si este es mi destino lo aceptaré
Mr.Zeppeling!?
his voice is clear as crystal
The melody of this song is incredible
Steve Howe has a very unique sound and style I play alot of hard rock and southern rock but i always enjoyed his playing
Straizo on the keyboards
The key board player is the son (Oliver) of Rick Wakeman, who was the original player of the band.
Geoff
Not the original player, the classic Yes player
Geoff, is this you?
Wow bass lines ‘🔥
RIP Chris Squire
They rock on!! Even with some new blood! I miss Anderson, Squire
Almost 10 minutes of freaking great music out there!
