I had a set of alloy Hunts that cracked after 4 years. I think the warranty is 3 years 🤷🏻‍♂️. Just replaced with a carbon Hunt wheel set. Love them

Thanks for the tips! I'm in the market for a new bike. Im an old school roadie that always had a few bikes for different jobs. I had sold them in a move a couple years ago.
I thought gravel bikes were a fad but they really are practical. Swapping wheels (especially w/ a dynamo) is a great solution.

@@jgreenjeans I was a roadie but would never go back in fact most the roads in the UK resemble gravel so thicker tyres adds to the comfort,m plus the added benefit of going off-road and keeping away from the traffic. Best this I ever did was go gravel.

Some good ideas here and I think you're right about just having one bike.
I think I should have bought a gravel bike but I got an xc hardtail so as I'm doing longer rides I'm thinking of converting it to drop bars(for comfort) and maybe a rigid fork later.
Not keen on buying a new gravel bike right now as they are at least twice the price of what I have.
Would be interested in your opinion if you have time Thanks.

@@inthebush3 would look at the second hand market for a gravel bike there are some real bargains out there same with wheelsets on Facebook marketplace especially. Hardtails are great but think gravel bikes are better suited to longer days in the saddle. Hope this helps

@@gravelbikemark Yes I think you're right the hardtail is not really cutting it for what I'm doing. Will give marketplace a go.
      Thanks for your thoughts Cheers.

Depending on the groupset, the conversion could cost as much or more than just buying second hand bike

Can you clarify that you have 3 sets of wheels i.e. 6 wheels, all fitted with specific tyres?
You mentioned swapping (tubeless) tyres over, which just seems overly complicated?

Yep I just swap wheelsets however if I am bikepacking for more than a few days and require my dynamo setup I will move whatever tyre (normally the nobbly) to the dynamo wheel (front only) as the back wheel (not tyre) can just be changed
