Completely agree with everything you say! This was why I bought an OM1-N in 1979 and why I have just bought the new OM-1 Mk2.
I was tempted by the OM-5 because it is even more compact and reminds me very much of the original OM1 but, in the end, the extra features of the newest OM-1 won me over.
Might end up getting an OM-5 too at some point.

I just picked up the 12-100 f4 pro…so sharp! MFT is the best for a hobbyist IMO. I have full frame too, but I tend to reach for my Oly 99% of the time.

    Fine comment
I use the brand Olympus and now OM system for over 40 years and never had a problem with the results.
For outdoors the system is and was small and lightweight in all those years, consistent to the filosofie of mr. Yoshihisa Maitani.
I use the OM-1 mark II now for several weeks and have great fun and perfect pictures.

I've had my OM-5 for about a year. Love it! And paired with the 12-45 f/4 or 40-150 f/4, amazing. Small and light. I've used the 12mm f/2 for astro, but my favorite fast prime is the 20mm f/1.4. The OM-5 and the 20mm and 12-45 f/4 and the 40-150 f/4 make a great travel pack. All weather-sealed, so wet weather photography is worry free. Perhaps an OM1mkii for Christmas. Unless a surprise OM5 mkii shows up.

I enjoy my OM5 but I really love my OM1 Mark II. I need to check out the 20mm F1.4. Thanks for your comment

Been with Olympus/OMsystem for years now and love it. I shoot wildlife with the 150-400 pro and after lumping the canon 600 f4 about this is awesome . Im 61 yrs old and it's a stroll in the park. Just my view but I never go below ISO 200 as that is the native ISO, not a criticism. Great video.

Thanks for the comment. At some point I want to pick up a 150-400. Do you use a battery grip when using your 150-400?

@@Deweybing yes it make the balance better and im used to the old camera the 1DX with the large grip

@@raytaylor3090 I had a feeling it would balance better. I will look at getting the battery grip if/when I get the 150-400. Thanks for the information.

Really cool setup. I love my Canon R6 and my 24-105 f/4 but its a brick of a rig, especially for travel.

Micro 4/3rds is great for travel. Small, light, great image quality. Makes taking a camera on vacation enjoyable.

FYI. The base ISO on Olympus/OM cameras is 200. You'll lose info of you do below that (or above).

    • @Deweybing
      @Deweybing  5 місяців тому

I agree that base ISO is 200. The OM1 Mark II has a low iso of 80. So I am trying it out for landscapes.

@@Deweybing that's what I'm saying though. You'll lose info any time you see L on the ISO. Shoot at 200 for max information. Also, you can pull more dynamic range with the computational ND filter. Good luck to you and look forward to images

@@KyleGustafson1986 thanks for the information. I will try both ways and see how it turns out.

All of us talk. I don’t think all of us use music.
