Used to repair these printers many years ago, they were sold as multi function devices and incorporated a fax system to make further use of the document feeder on the top. the card may have a telephone socket next to the standard network socket, the black stopper was usually left in as these days, no one uses fax any more, so to stop crap getting in and damaging connectors they filled holes with stoppers. It also stopped unruly office staff from jamming things in. I hate printers and recycling them is a pain. Good job man!
Ben Houghton, Hi Ben Good tear-down, always nice to know the bottom line, but in this case I don't think we were surprised, knowing it was a printer. How's the weather any better ?
Ben Houghton, Hi Ben, I wish you the best of luck in your quest to find that solid gold motor, maybe you should start looking in the dumpster at your local mint, in case they threw out some gold scrap. All the best in your scrapping endeavours mate.
i think the part you showed might be for the wifi so you can print stuff off from your computer but its in the factory office i think rather then having a 30 ft cable going to each printer i think that's what it is, printers are bad, once there gone just throw them in the trash they are the worset computer item to have to scrap, 2nd is laptops all fiddly and with tinee tiny screws,
I dont send anything to trash thats my one personal responsibility as a scrapper to recycle 99% of everything laptops i remove hd then sell on as spares in joblots
I just double it to make it easier but i think im getting old the steel was only 8kg so the rest couldn't be 17kg so think im off with initial estimate

If you save all you plastic you can send to you local plastic reclaimers yard for a little earner
I looked into this and they only accept a minimum of a ton each transaction and id be divorced in a week if i had to store a ton of plastic
I have generally just add to light iron pile
