For doing this by ear, pretty sick! I think the part at around 1:30 is a bit dense and it can be hard to discern all of the beats from the original track. But that may be due to the nature of porting a complex modern track into 8-bit. Solid effort!
Thanks! And yeah, that part was hands-down the bit that I was most excited about doing, and the most challenging. There's a LOT going on in the original track as well...I actually simplified some of the background strings down a bit, and I really waffled a lot on whether I wanted to keep the bass as loud as it was, but in the end it disappeared too much if I didn't, which probably means something else disappeared instead. The way the NES handles volume is very odd, and the extra VRC6 channels have their own volume challenges on top of that, so, shrug. Solid is good enough for me!
She's based on the Onion Knight sprites from FFIII. (I can't decide if this is a joke or not and if it is, what exactly it means, lol.🧍♂So you just get the super literal reply I guess.)
@@NeviDoesThingsit's a jab at alisaie for looking and acting like a 14 years old tomboy, she has more womanly features on this sprite, nothing wrong with either of these things though, it was just a nasty joke
