I havn't commented since the To Be a Man video, but I had a real shitty week this week. I went into the liquor store tonight to cash my check, I bought a Tall Boy. I sat it down on the table, looked at it, at my pizza, looked at it and then called my Brother In Law and told him to swing by I bought him a beer. Couldn't bring myself to drink it. I don't need it. I am not in the right head space to enjoy a few drinks. I know better. This song hits hard.

I felt this one especially because I am a mechanic and I feel terrible most days body sore dead tired to where weekends sometimes I don't wanna get out of bed thankfully I have a amazing woman who understands that I am breaking my body to provide us everything we need and doesn't get upset when sometimes I sit in the garage and have a beer and decompress

He was sober in the video and when she caught him drinking she got upset and said she is going to leave. If you listen you can hear her say your drinking again? what happened? But she doesn't investigate what stress is bringing him back to this.

As a husband and father of 2 I feel used and abused as I work over 60 hours a week and go to college full time all so she can work 4 hours a day 4 days a week constantly in pain fighting the VA for disability we have been together 10 years now it eats me alive the struggle is real

I showed my girlfriend Dax To Be A Man without saying anything other than, "check out this video". Afterwards she was like, "oh so you're emotional now?" And that's why I can't share anything with her. She has the mindset that men don't or can't feel feelings.

She treats you like that because you let her. You’re enabling her to emotionally abuse you. Have a backbone and some standards man. Establish boundaries because she straight up disrespected you because she knows she can and you won’t do anything about it. Women turn into horrible people when you let them walk all over you. You’ll never feel peace or respected with this woman if you don’t stand up for yourself and if she doesn’t understand, she’s not the one for you. If you stay it will only get worse and eventually she’ll do something unforgivable. You should love yourself enough to not stay in situations like these.
She’s basically showing you that she doesn’t care about you or how you feel. Her “love” is conditional and she’s only tolerating you right now. She would leave if she could do better because she’s not a good person and brother, you deserve better. You’re stuck on a situation where you’re not treated how you want to be or should be but you’re scared of change and scared of being lonely so you cope and justify it to yourself that it’s better than being single but it’s really not because your mental health will fall off drastically and you’ll find yourself in a mental prison just going through the routine and being a shell of the man you were if you stay in this situation. You know when women stay with their abusers and you’re like, “why didn’t they just leave?” You’re kind of in that situation right now. I hope you notice the red flags soon, I wish you all the best.

I mean just because you take a drink after a hard days work possibly a week since they were planning to go out maybe it was friday, doesnt necessarily point to alchoholism. I for 1 drink everyonce in while like 1 every couple of months to let stuff process especially when alone, ir have a major problem that needs fjxing but dont necessarily need it but does help relax and figure some shit out. I have figured out some of the biggest problems out while I was typsy
I think he was initially getting the edge off to figure things out since shits not going right and she decided to go in there and caused it to escalate and that triggered him to drink more of it. Im getting this from if you seen an alcoholic when pooring drinks they would fill the glass up more then he did when he initially pored it.
Just a thought. I do somewhat get whatbyou mean but I thinkbit was a bit of rush to say its the alchohols fault or that its necessarily bad. She juat didwant to d a al with the guy and his feelings since he called off the date do to workjng to provide which is frowned upon now a days sadly.

@CaveManParadigm You do have a point there on how'd she might see it. A lot of people have been taught its completely bad to deal with issues with alchohol rather then trying to teach them how to use it to figure out your issues, and as a result they go over board and avoid the issue all together when they drink.
I view alchohol as a tool, though in moderation it does some good like loosening you up and clears your mind or makes you face what's bothering you in a different way, and you are more open. The issue is that many people use it excessively to try and avoid the issue altogether, which causes the adverse effects that end up wrecking your relationships or causing abuse or sometimes antisocial attitudes.
