Good stuff man! That loaded coal with the 1x1 power arrangement was very cool - made even cooler since the DPU was an Executive! These days most are in storage. The clean "Swoosh" SD70MAC on that manifest was also pretty neat, only a handful of SD70MAC's wear H3.
Thanks Dan! It was neat to see the Executive unit, and the H3 MAC was the Vomit Bonnet. It was repainted last year. Got three MACs in this video, all are painted differently. Too bad they're in storage now.
Nice catches man!! Neat you caught the BN executive MAC, they're very hard to find now. That "Swoosh" logo BNSF MAC looked awesome, it had a fresh paint too!
Thanks! Yeah, they were a bit more common back in September. That sure changed quick. That "swoosh" MAC was just repainted this passed year, it was the "vomit bonnet."
Another great catch Jason love that sub div i have family in St. Joe....The vomit bonnet was an awesome catch, that tank train was different no buffer cars? keep up the great work,,Gary
Getting that unit was dumb luck. :D I'm gonna guess the tank train was either empty, or had non-flammables, otherwise. yeah there would have been buffers. Thanks Gary.
Good stuff Jason. It seems that this is a very scenic line.. And boy do they fly through that town there in the beginning. Also, Executive MAC.. didn't realize how rare they had gotten until I sorta just stopped seeing them or seeing posts about them.
Thanks Spencer. It is, and yes they do move fast though town there. Back in September they were pretty common, but over the winter, that all changed. Kinda sad.
I'm not sure. Most likely, yes. But I'm not as familiar with this Sub, or trains here as I am over at Eton for example. This is Shane's stomping ground.
One of the best videos I`ve seen. Quick question, why do the late GE`s have two different trucks that they use. And why does BNSF have very mixed power, in your area while here in California it is almost exclusively GE. Robert
Thanks! The trucks differ depending on what model the locomotive is. The older Dash 9s have one kind of truck, then the newer ES44s have a newer truck design. This line does have more varied power, unlike their transcon closer to where I live. The Transcon is nearly all GE, while this line has more varied kinds of trains, it's going to have more of a variety. Just depends on the trains being run. For intermodal trains, they use DC powered units; Dash9s, ES44C4s, and ES44DCs. While coal, grain, manifests, tanks, etc, get the AC powered units like the SD70ACe, SD70MAC, ES44AC. The DC units for intermodal trains are geared more for speed, while the AC units are better suited for the slower, heavy haul trains. However, Dash9s can and do turn up on anything, and on rare occasion an AC unit will appear on an intermodal.
Great catches Jason! They don't waste any time there!
Thanks Bishop. No they don't waste any time up there. Only time they slow down is when they are being put in a siding.

Thanks Keith. I don't go to these spots very often but it's a very scenic area and yes, the weather was great that day. :D
Great Catch New BNSF GEVO With NS Power Jason
Thank you Franky.

I live in the heart of the subdivision with the towns name prior to the division given the name from BNSF.
Nice catches!
Thanks!
GREAT VIDEO!
Thanks!
great video! I live around there!!!
Nice video!
Thanks!
i forgot to add that i noticed they still have the old style target signals on that line.....
+gary wise The St. Joe sub is one of the few places that still have old searchlight targets still. Not for much longer but for now they do.
Coming from TU Electric, headed to the mines of the powder river basin?

Thank you for your informative response. I learn a lot/
Well, that first one in Parkville, anyway.
Yes, the rest were farther up north in Waldron.
