Back to the beginning. Nice to see. I remember when Poplar Preparedness first started, before it changed to the Poplar Report. I think I was among the first 500 subs.
👍😀 Sweden will watch you! 🇸🇪💖🇺🇲 At least me and myself and a bunchof other swedes as well, for sure! 🥳 We highly appreciate your important and valuable work, Steve! Thanks! ❤
Hey, hope all is well over there. You need to do a show On wood fire cook stoves. Just last week our power went out and my son got home First saw the power went out. Went downstairs, made a fire. Had the stove hot when the wife came home she went downstairs, And made supper like nothing was wrong. No electricity hot supper when I got home. win
I’m chomping at the bits to get a wood stove installed in this house again. I live in my grandparents home and when it was built (1926) there was no electricity or running water, other than a hand pump from the well on the back porch. There is a rather large metal plate on the ceiling where the stove pipe went out the roof when it was built. Since I live in MS and we have hurricanes/tornadoes to worry about, not to mention the shtf scenarios. We have gas heat but need the electricity for the blower since it is an outside air/heat unit. There was also a fireplace that was open to the main bedroom and living room both. My aunt “remodeled” years ago and took the fireplace (chimney and all) out of the house. 🥺 so a wood stove would solve two of my biggest concerns. The other being water supply if the shtf in a big way.
Looking forward to it! Would love to see the following topics: basic survival items for on the go, wilderness survival tips, focused prepping for specific types of disasters, hygiene and first aid knowledge of any kind, resources to get prepping information (book reviews, websites, etc).
skills take $ too. Or are you thinking talk about what we need to do or do/skills with zero to economical methods vs. survival/prepper "cools"? Steve has been to places still have low tech living, see what other countries do to live and adapt in emergencies and their methods of taking care of life's necessities.
A very interesting mix of English and the local Indian language(s) on all the signage there around you. :) Also, best wishes on your work and travels there, and your new channel, Mr. P. :)
Here with ya too friend! I'm kinda working on my own prepper/Gardener/herbalist/artist/small business owner channel going and my nerves have really been an issue, but I'm working on it! I'm excited for your channel and look forward to your new content! Be safe!
Been with you since you had just a couple thousand subscribers. I’m glad too see the progress and growth. You have giving me hundreds of hours of informative content. Thank you very much. You should start saying what’s popping lol.
Amen!!! Used to love traveling all over, meeting people, seeing the beauty of each and every country, eating local dishes. But now, now I’d rather be a hermit!!
Hey Steve it's good to see you out there I didn't know you had this channel I will definitely be watching this one I always watch all the episodes of popular report I appreciate all that you do
Love this Steve perfect fit with us all. Love it ❤️. Started in 2020 new to it, plowing through everyday and can’t wait to hear what everyone shares on your new channel. Love you and safe travels friend
I'm so excited about your new channel! I think a lot of people are confused about how to store water and how important it is to have a large supply. Like bleach to water ratio and such. God Bless you!
Steve, We watch your channel daily. We will be adding this latest channel to our list. We pray for you daily. You are a "light of hope" in a dark world. Please be safe, watch those crosswalks! India is a busy place, filled with magnificent people. You've got to enjoy spicy foods and curry! LOL Whew!! Blessings, from your brother and sister in Christ!! 🙏
Thank you!! A lot of homestead and prepping channels are going to news. I already have my news channels. Ideas I've been pondering 🤔... Hidden gardens, whether uncommon food or parts of food most don't know are edible, and how to use it. Plants in dirted aquariums so no or low tech, other inside food besides greens that can be done with an inexpensive kratky system and cheap lights. How to protect or hide small livestock. Rabbits trained to use a litter box but what type of care do inside rabbits need? Quail are small and quiet but very dusty for the inside. Solutions? Saving water and treating it. Homemade fertilizer, pesticides ( pyrethrum daisies, tobacco, sunchokes ,etc) and how to make and use them... Stuff people can do now. There's lots of info about bugging out and stocking up but we need to know what to do this year to feed ourselves and to keep an eye on the future, too. Especially when there's not extra money in the budget for solar generators to run grow lights, etc. Maybe buying and piecing together inexpensive solar kits to run grow lights, incubator ( for quail), etc.
I like your list..Food forest where food is hidden with other plants..I plant herbs, mints in with my flowers..perennial uncommon plants in my opinion is the walking onions, bunching onions, Jerusalem artichokes, some grow artichokes, in with their landscape I have never tried that..ramps, wild garlic, mushroom logs, HOSTAS are my most favorite vegetable..dandelion greens, stinging nettle pesto is delicious, fiddleheads..lots of good grows in your lawns or flowerbeds..you can eat day lilies, make jelly from wild violets, make syrup and jelly from lilacs, peonies jelly, dandelion honey..just a few things I do.
@@Fritz0616 I also like redbud jelly. I didn't care for hostas. I'm not sure if the variety makes a difference. I had free range chickens at the time and they loved the hostas to the point of extinction lol I've got a lot of your list this year, actually 😁 I don't think peonies grow in this area but other than that I think we're on the same page. I have had my walking onions for two years and I was about to relegate them to a back corner somewhere. I thought the seed company sent me the wrong bulbs. Today I finally saw what I think will be a walking top on one. I have both wild spring onions and multiplying ones, too. Have you tried potato mint? I saw it on a video and think it sounds pretty good to try. I've also stalked a local small nursery in the fall to see which roses had the biggest hips. I think most people buy in the spring to see the colors 😂
@@heidimisfeldt5685 yes, I had a local foraging teacher come and walk my land. Only one friend came. I thought more people would be interested. I've taken a couple of classes and have several books. My favorite sites are Foraging Texas ( my local guy) and Green Dean's Eat the Weeds and other stuff. The comments section of Dean's site is pure gold.
Wonderful news! I'm looking forward to the new focus of this channel. If you're open to suggestions...how about taking a road trip to eastern PA to study the design of Amish homes -- the perfect example of living in a grid-down world. Just the setup and routine of an Amish kitchen would be great. There MUST be pieces of equipment or food preservation and preparation practices that could be implemented or adapted in a "modern" kitched during an extended power outage.
@STEVE POPLAR. Please do tell us much more about your experiences in diverse places, without any defining details regarding people, or where exactly they are. Experiences we all can learn from, is what I am referring to. Thank you for all you do.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know that this will be great because you have been in so many countries where people have gotten by (well, even!) while doing without! There are so many things that those of us in 1st world countries would not even imagine trying to do in order to solve different problems! My profession has required things like this for nearly 45 years, and I know your experience will add greatly to mine. Thank you, Steve! Safe travels home!
Always enjoyed your report videos, looking forward to this series continuing. Looks like you have genuine first hand experience in practical situations that could provide valuable knowledge.
Ive watched all the videos on this channel and I wish you continued success, the video with Joe was good and I remember his video with the less than lethal and I was blown away that he was the crash test dummy and showed us how it would effect a situation that doesn't require more than that. Also ill be looking forward to seeing your next guest Pinball Preparedness, another great channel that I've been watching for a while. Hopefully, youll have more guests on here. Thanks again, and good luck. Southern California out.
Thank you and God Bless you Steve!!! I watch your other channel... Every video. Not able to comment on it, but I'm so very appreciative! Looking forward to this new channel and praying for success ❤
All success to your new channel Steve. I knew there was something exceptional about you when I first started watching your other channel over a year ago!
