Restoring 100 years old Fortuna leather skiving machine!

I worked on similar ones back in the 80's. They were, at the time; somewhat common in the women's accessories industry. Purses, billfolds, etc. I imagine the majority of that industry is now in Asia. I have some fond memories of that day and time. Well done.

Hi, nice job.
I bought the same Machine 2 weeks before and i cant find any information for this Machine. So i called the Company ( is nearby ) for more information.
They asked for the serial number ( 19444 Type B ) and viola they send me the Users Manual and Parts List. My machine was build in 1925 😏

My bell skiver is about 5 years old and I can tell you nothing has changed. It's identical to the Fortuna but, just a different color.

@@manuLab no, the drive belt for the skiing bell is a standard rubber material.
