Definitely not just another narrowboat channel, you've got safety advice, foraging for sustenance and banter, what more could a subscriber wish for? Cheers, Simon
Bollards are what you are moored on.lead acid batterys are completely knackered if they are ever allowed to go below 12volts never to work properly again you need new batterys and looking at the way yours are connected together you need someone who knows how to connect them efficiently when you get new ones.
Worrying for poor Becks, will she survive, can she tough it out, will she persevere through the relentless bombardment of Chris’s complaining of frozen meats, batteries and diesel engine noise? lol. I love the continuing stories aboard the Whistling Wombat, your adventures be it tow path showers, berry picking or waxing armpits you always pull me in. I’m hoping the best you guys will do ok with the flooding, your continuing dwindling fuel supply and your safety. Love the videos where we get to hear your singing and playing guitar, such talent the two of you🎸🎤🍺🎶. Stay safe❤
Hey Chris, Hey Bex, Have you ever noticed when you walk through an old church graveyard (hand in hand) that the path is usually lower than the actual grave yard? This is due to the bodies that are buried there. The more bodies the higher the ground. Bex, thanks for the info about the yew tree berries, very useful info!!! Mark Alberta, Canada
Came across this while digging up dead relatives in Norfolk. Partner in crime type relative brought it to my attention. I find old British churches, inside and out, fascinating. Next time you guys pass one stop and investigate, then let me know what YOU find. Mark Alberta, Canada@@TheNomadicCrobot
Tip for the condensation on the pram cover windows. Get some dish soap / washing up liquid and just rub it onto the window on the inside. It will no longer steam up.
We had a holiday on the Norfolk Broads once and morred up and went to the pub. We went to the pub 3 hours later we found the tide had come in and the river had risen. Boat got caught under a ledge like you mentioned and ripped about 6 foot of wood from the side of the boat. Holiday cut short lol.
@TheNomadicCrobot I won't mention when a boat hit us head on while we were morred at a pub waiting for lunch. Oh I just did lol. Don't give up it will be worth it in the long-term
@@TheNomadicCrobot ours used to do that until we found bedazzled they are excellent and use a lot less power and give off a nice light with minimum shadowing. Glad you have now finally used the Go Kart tyres I dropped off in the ladies garden by the Gates. 👍🏼😎🤣🤣got my name wrong but won’t hold it against you Steve aka Chris 🤣🤣
So sorry Nick, I was trying to read back through old messages but couldn't find them, it an be so hard to remember with all the messages, so sorry, I did actually think it was you Nick but then changed my mind last minute, what an idiot, they were a life saver thank you so much
@@TheNomadicCrobot 2nd day cruising had a small engine fire 4th day the prop shaft came out of the gear box and then 12 months ago i had accident in a lock and broke my legs so not the greatest still love it :)
Might be worth contacting Tanya batteries when the time comes to replace yours. You'll need to give them the measurements and terminal orientation to get the correct ones. Also, I've just seen the second trailer for the new Wallace & Gromit film due out at Christmas and there's a narrowboat in trouble featured, lol. 🤭
your engine is noisey because its out of an old ford transit and it cant have much of an exhaust ;) that high pitch squeal you heard at the start could very well be your fan belt , they get hot and go very hard or get oil on them , or might even be a bit loose but at a bet its just doing it when the alternator is under load when you start up. easy way to test keep some talcum powder nearby and when you hear the squeal just sprinkle it on the belt and the noise will probably stop. the loud constant rattle is the top end timing gear (souds like a rocker setup) and its a feature more than a bug very unlikely to be something you can stop. on the upside its as unlikely to be a an actual problem, some sound insulation material on the hatch into the engine bay might help
Hi marooned people, Blimey! You guys have all the luck, was your narrow boat number 666 off the line or something? 🤣Don't go letting Bernards Bootiful turkey chop defrost.
But...but....but...what about the cutlets? Did you eat them, or were they sacrificial offerings for the fully erected Titan? You left one clue there for alien detectors. If The Mighty Titan is occupying the space where one would expect a toilet, then it begs the question of.....well, we earthlings probably don't want to know exactly how you use The Mighty Titan. Life must really suck for him. Oh yes, It's not a permanent mooring pin, ya bollard! Still wondering about the turkey steaks. Were they re-animated into some new Crobot life form?
Are they leisure batteries, are they matched for capacity & age? If the batteries are duff then you can put as much charge as you like into them but there is no chance they will hold the charge.
Would it not be cheaper to just eat the stakes and buy more than wasting all that diesel? you need to upgrade your solar system so you still get a charge when cloudy that system you have is not going to do it
Can’t you use the power bank on the fridge? Foraging in a supermarket is much more productive, just don’t get caught 😂 very disappointing vlog complete lack of disasters 😂

Thank goodness you had eaten your cutlets when we saw you 🤣😉looking forward to the next one 😃
You guys are crazy! Can’t miss your vlogs though!
Thanks so much for watching
Have you thought about getting freezer blocks to put in the deep freeze. They would help keep things frozen for longer. This worked well on my boat.
That sounds like a really good idea, Thank you
I'd be using that time to install those solar panels!
Great shout
you should look into a decent solor setup with lithium batteries
definitely
Your lights will take a fair bit from your batteries check out bedazzled 12v led lights 😊😊
yeah we actually worked out the lights were using alot of energy

The last Captain Cutlett l came across was in a film called Windbag the Sailor 😂. Usual flood prevention-let em’ have it downstream 😮
haha love it

Think it’s time to bite the bullet and get new batteries and a 12v fridge
I think you may be right

exactly...think of those cutlets 😂😂 poor mr Titan....its the only place for him unfortunately ...I suppose I could swap him for Bex??
Guys I love your story and hard work but if you wish to take the advice of an old boater, stick to cruising Canals.🤗
Thank you so much wee getting there.... one day

There just a bit old, its become quite a big problem having to run the engine
How come a flooded river can keep you two and a boat stranded?
this is a very very good point 😂
