I love my Bernina machines but my absolute favorite is the Q20! It handles anything I throw at it; metallic threads, 12 wt. cottons, etc. Ruler work is a blast with all of the space. Thanks, Bernina.
Do you constantly have to press down on the foot control to make the machine stitch or does it stitch by just the movement of your hands on the fabric?
I have had mine since January of 22. I switched thread to float a quilt and am having tension problems. I test, retest the bobbin. I've rethreaded the machine. The dealer suggested i go to a 90/14 needle instead of the 100/16. The top is a 40 wt and the bobbin is a 50wt. Today i will put a 40wt in the bobbin. I've also double checked winding my bobbin so that it is even. This is frustrating. Stitching looks great on top but has the railroad tracks on the back. At least it's not loose on the back. Did you ever solve your bobbin tension problems. Thank you for your time.
Love the explanation on the BSR feature

Thank you for this comment. I was curious about metallic and 12 WTG threads. That was my final question before buying
Very helpful video--thank you! I just threaded my Bernina Q20 for the first time and threaded it. I will start quilting this afternoon!
Just got mine so excited to learn
I have had my Bernina Q20 for almost 2 years now and I learned something from this video. Thank you. I wish there were more videos on the Q20.
I love my Q! I use BSR3 (SPI 1) to move along the edge of my quilt instead of breaking thread, when I have a short distance to move.

How difficult is basting stitch removal if you quilt densely?
I have this machine for 6 mos and still having trouble with tensions, please help.
