Every time I watch the teams I support losses live I get soo depressed especially internationals. I’ve been avoiding watching live games late in the tournament. Only vods and knowing the results first. Yet it’s still depressing but definitely less pain.😢

As a non-EU fan, I found some EU fans were unbearable in 2018-2020 so I kinda like this situation. But, I'm somewhat surprised by the fact that now G2 couldn't even advance past the Swiss round.
They just choked Vs NRG and NRG played well. The other matchups basically went as expected. The Swiss stage allows for lots of upsets but it's a lot more fun

I think EU being a 1 team region is what made them suck this year. Other teams really need to step up and raise the level of competition which in turn could raise the level of their best team.
There are a lot of things that need to change with EU teams as a whole. These last 3 years have been appalling compared to where we were. I don't know what happened but even compared to before season 8 EU we have never looked worse, at least in season 6 H2K beat EDG and made it to semis, now we dont have a single team who looks like they can even match up to the top 3 teams of both the LPL and LCK. Even this series BLG's win just felt inevitable in game 3.

I think it is good that EU ended up as clowns for once. They were satisfied with beating NA for the past few years and it finally backfired. This year was easily the worst EU performance at worlds since s1. If not for NRG I wouldnt bother watching this worlds further
I think western region currently doesn't have that much target. I think both EU and NA just have 2 objective. 1. If NA then try to beat EU, if EU then try to beat NA. 2. At least 1 team from region get out from group. I believe they won't dare to dream more than that, even entering semi final is a far dream let alone participate in final or even winning World.

in the modern era of league, 2018-2020 and *maybe* until MSI 2021 were the only times that the West were competitive against the East. Mostly thanks to FNC and G2, but TL did upset IG in MSI 2019 which was HUGE, and C9 upset Afreeca back in 2018. It's been downhill ever since for the West, most especially for NA, so NRG even making it out of swiss is a big deal, but the sad reality still remains: the gap between the East and West is massive so it doesn't matter if NA or EU is better than the other, we're still so very behind especially on Top lane talents. BrokenBlade is the clear cut best Top laner of the West but he's not in the same league as the Eastern Top laners. It's going to be a rough few years, or unless the meta becomes so unclear that a Western team figures it out first on an international tournament to edge out vs the East

LEC has been a one team region for a long time internationally. No other LEC team has done anything. In fact, NA would beat the other LEC regions out of the tournament. If it wasnt for G2, LEC wouldnt have anything.

Today is the day EU got sent home proving once again NA is better
in the modern era of league, 2018-2020 and *maybe* until MSI 2021 were the only times that the West were competitive against the East. Mostly thanks to FNC and G2, but TL did upset IG in MSI 2019 which was HUGE, and C9 upset Afreeca back in 2018.
It's been downhill ever since for the West, most especially for NA, so NRG even making it out of swiss is a big deal, but the sad reality still remains: the gap between the East and West is massive so it doesn't matter if NA or EU is better than the other, we're still so very behind especially on Top lane talents.
BrokenBlade is the clear cut best Top laner of the West but he's not in the same league as the Eastern Top laners.
It's going to be a rough few years, or unless the meta becomes so unclear that a Western team figures it out first on an international tournament to edge out vs the East

The region as a whole needs to elevate. Even next year I'm sure G2 will win the LEC. LCK was the so called one team region, now its LEC.
Now? Almost always has been with Fnatic sometimes showing glimmer of hope outside of EU, this region has always been seen as G2 region.
LEC has been a one team region for a long time internationally. No other LEC team has done anything. In fact, NA would beat the other LEC regions out of the tournament.
If it wasnt for G2, LEC wouldnt have anything.

In this BLG vs G2 series he got counter pick top twice and in the last game he got Gnar vs Renekton counter pick which is an unlosable matchup btw but somehow he managed to lose every trade, be down 2 levels and 40+ cs at 10 minutes as the ranged champ in a ranged vs melee matchup (yes mini gnar is ranged).
