    I had a failed fusion at L5-S1 in 2011 at 31 years old. By 2012 my doctor said the fusion did not fuse, referred me to a pain clinic, took me off work and had me apply for disability. I could not live on the tiny disability check and put all the money making on my wife’s shoulders. I was and continue to do bodybuilding time to time. So my gym connect said he knew an AIDS patient that got like 32iu of Serostim a day and needed money. Think I paid like $200 for over 100iu and took it at 3iu a day for 3 months. When I went back to the surgeon and got a MRI and CAT scan with contrast he couldn’t believe it had fused. He still said no leg or ab training. I was built funny with big upper and little lower body so I broke with his rules and started squats and deadlifts. Needles to say I’m pain free and show up the young bucks at the gym and I’m 43. So I’m a believer in hgh.

    I shattered my ankle into literally 50 pieces, compound on both sides, tib/fib fracture with separation, and torn MCL. Had the best orthopedic surgeons arguably in the country... was told I would walk with a limp for the rest of my life, which was a blessing considering amputation was on the table. Ran a very aggressive peptide protocol of TB 500/BPC 2Iu of HGH, and Test/NPP and a few low/short Anavar/Primo cycles with my TRT, and my entire team was dumbfounded at how much my body healed after the natural state. MRI showed cartilage, regrowth, tendon/ligament and joint repair, and possible bone growth. To say it was a lifesaver would be an understatement. It's unfortunate that these treatments are not more readily available.

    I think the guy said it, that what is good for older men, may not be good for younger men. I think the problem now a days is men in their 20’s and early 30’s are on TRT, Hgh and other PED’s. Have they been tested prior to doing so? I will be 52 this year. I don’t think I would try these things in my twenties. Now I actually need them. We need to differentiate between HGH and GHRH and GHRP. If growth hormone peaks in our twenties and declines 15% every decade, we can stimulate it’s release (and not daily like mentioned) in amounts 100-200 mcg 1-2 times per day also depending on the peptide (not sure where the 1 mg dose came from). In terms of longevity-growth hormone decline is one of the contributing factors for poor sleep and impacts deep sleep. And we know that lack of sleep is one of the contributing factors for neurodegenerative conditions.

    I think its pretty clear that the use of growth hormone for anti aging and longevity is not going to kill any patients or radically increase their chance or death, I noticed Peter mentioned this in the first part of the clip. GH and other hormones' that ones body can produce naturally and we should all strive and hope to increase our own production endogenously by use of best practices like sauna and deep sleep which both trigger strong releases of GH, however, if your an older person and are struggling with health, adding in GH would certainly help, the problem is, just like adding in other external hormones, does your body shut down or decrease its own production of some of these vital hormones if an patient decides to start supplementing with them exogenously via shots, creams or oral supplements?
    This is why young, healthy people should not all of a sudden start adding in anabolic steroids or sex hormones, sure it would be nice if I had ramped up or increased testosterone production but that's also gonna slowly and negatively impact my body's own natural production down the line. Any red blooded, muscle wanting American male would love the benefits of more T or GH as these are the super human mega pump hormones that add to our quality of life, but most guys should focus on ways to naturally increase or maintain their own levels vs switching to outside shots or injections.

      We don't know that, people could be dying from it earlier and you would not know it because their death could be labelled as something else

    • @EdgarAllenFlow
      @EdgarAllenFlow Рік тому +4

      @@thomasjust2663 well, by definition if people died from rHGh early we’d see it labeled as augmenting or causing the cause of death. But, by your logic people who die from a “labeled” cause of death of cerebrovascular disease but truthfully the diet and genes, the environment, the psychosocial factors, and lifestyle habits. Someone taking a statin and a BP med will still die a bit earlier but it’s not because of those meds, which likely extended their lifespan relative to forgoing medication to prevent cerebrovascular disease. Moreover, taking any medication or supplement that isn’t “obvious” as a proximate or direct cause of death can be subject to the same condemnation you apply here. Now, for patients I am involved with, rhGH usually improves physical health - but not totally restores the dysfunctions of the body’s systems secondary to their anterior pituitary damage (hence the need to replace the growth hormone for life), but significantly helps, and likewise I find they report general improvement in reintegration and adjustment to a more balanced cognitive and emotional capacity, often begin to thrive in social and vocational occupations, and have stronger recovery outcomes after their disabling brain trauma, spinal cord injuries, and acquired Neurocognitive Disorders or neurodegenerative disease states and diagnoses. Will it single handly slow or prevent aging in a human without any age related brain degenerative progressions, or enhance wellness in a healthy young person? We don’t know because that is not medicine at the time with the current parameters of any medical model today. But because people are using this anyway, it’s safe to say no, it will not likely be a magic single dimensional tool to mitigate the effects of aging though of the countless ways we decline due to aging some of these systems’ pathways and functional processes will be restored or maintained. If you’re not deficient in growth hormone, though, you aren’t likely going to benefit from exogenous rhGH and instead opting for your endogenous growth hormone is clearly a easy and cheaper option with higher efficacy. As Gh declines, sure, might as well replace to normal physiological levels but careful how and when you dose it because you can only replace the level pulsed in any given day but not the sensitive rhythms and ultradian clocked frequencies of the pulsatile secretions that are aligned to countless downstream effects also highly functional when kept in their own natural rhythm. So, maybe you want to have a healthier and more efficient harvest of farm crops. Does taking them in doors and blasting the artificial light mimicking sunlight itself but applied in irregular intervals, watering and feeding when you schedule instead of when they’re chemically stimulated to enter opportune phases to do so naturally as they prepare to enter definite stages of growth and development and reproduction expected intrinsically by their own botanical chemical messengers? You might optimize the growth stage you want as a farmer but sure as shit sticks to shoes the plant is gonna be thrown off it’s own cadence and live out a life altered from its natural one. Maybe that is better for it but I suspect even if it is we simply wouldn’t have the sensitivity to modulate the factors for health and life in the plant with the precision it would have on its own in the natural setting.
      Lesson is to stay away from “replacing” a incredibly dynamic and complex rhythm of Gh secretions and feedback loops in a body that is doing this just fine on its own. In a diseased or deficient state, replacing the hormones or biologics like growth hormone or even insulin, thyroid, etc., is just feeding the body not replacing the balance and clock it is optimally set and dependent upon.

    regenerates Thymus gland. Major effector of the adaptive immune system aging. T cell incompetence is a major cause of age-related morbidity and mortality!!! Therefore, the goal is to reverse thyme involution. Mortality rate goes up and immune system function goes down as we age because our Thymus degenerates with time. After puberty it already starts shrinking and making less naïve T cells. And that is why you see cancer in people over 50 but not in kids. That’s why people die of the flu in old age but not children.

    I don't get the "confounders" point. This is a case where singling it out doesn't necessarily matter. If you are willing to take HGH, you also do other things - yes, we can't see necessarily it as an independent to study, but we can see that the people aren't giving the "dying signal" Dr. Attia is asking about. At a minimum, the negative effects therefore wouldn't be big. Again, we already know that there is nothing in the world that is ALL benefit, so this is helpful to know, since it suggests that HGH therefore isn't crazy dangerous.

    As with most hormones, it is not the question of a "level" but of a pattern over the time: How does the hormonal levels change in the course of a day, what is the variability.
    Just supplementing a hormone once a day may just completely miss the point...

    • @jakeman025
      @jakeman025 Рік тому +1

      So the reason why you inject gh daily is because of how it’s naturally produced in your body during a circadian cycle. It’s the optimal way to use gh and testosterone however with testosterone it’s fine to have weekly or even bi weekly injections. However for the gh you will do that daily but on a daily basis the levels don’t fluctuate that much the only way it would read higher would be if you tested right after deep sleep when you secreted but even then it won’t fluctuate all that much. It’s more of a steep climb where each week you might bump your IGF-1 up each week by 10 or something. That’s why they say to see the most noticeable results you’ll have to wait until the 6 month mark. These things are a long process unless your a hyper responder so worrying about your daily fluctuations in your hormone levels is irrelevant. You want to take blood work every 3 months to gauge and is what a good doctor will make you do.

    One more thing: Men get a much bigger bang and are willing to trade longevity for quality. Women peak so much earlier, it wouldn't be worth it, as their window of peak is much, much earlier in life and their reproductive window is a reflection of that (ie women over 30 are already relatively much older in the sense that their SMV is plummeting at that point, especially relative to men). I don't think that most who are interested in HGH are interested in it as a longevity drug.

      Many 3 day Fasts for 1-2 years (20+) after controlling your blood sugar and being keto for a few months so your body adapts. Helped tremendously with similar symptoms. I supplemented with ketone salts, caffeine (tea) and electrolytes which made it fairly easy. Bonus is this will also improve your natural GH. Don’t go over 3 day fasts as you can start to loose muscle mass. The sweet spot is 48-72 hrs which will renew myeline sheath and clear out microglia cells which become inflammatory once activated in the brain and very hard to clear out without fasting.
