Martin, though I feel like a first year medical student witnessing neurosurgery on a living brain when I watch your tutorial videos, I must admit that your content is fascinating! Thank you for posting these sonic explorations. 🙏🏼 (and best wishes to Neptun 😺)
Finally an overview. Great thank you. I think the M needed this. The VA mode transforms the synth. Can now do supersaws and all the other VA stuff in that hybrid setup with that nice filter.
thanx for showing those new osc models in such great detail and with practical musical patches! great demo! I had the M for two weeks demoing it, but sent it back, since I felt no real improvement over my MW1RevA with Access controller and my XTk30. But these new features sound awesome! I also own the comparable Mutable Braids - but to have those sounds available on a polysynth with dedicated VCFs per voice seems a great sonic addition!
very helpful demonstration of the new oscillator modes, thanks! The PWM in the VA-mode was one of the few things I was missing in the M. The stock PWM-wavetables are great in their own right but too harsh for the classic softer PWM-sounds that you made here.
You don't have to edit all those wave envelope levels and times if you just want a simple envelope. Check 4.3 in the original Microwave manual. For example, you can create an ADSR envelope with just the first three level/times.
Thank you, sounds great. Would you generally recommend the M, especially compared to Iridium Core (same price range)? I‘m about to buy my first more expensive synth, as well as my first wavetable synth in order to make my own ambient productions. :)
Great tutorial, I always love your tutorials because they often help me get a better understanding of synthesis as well as the instrument. I'm having difficulty understanding the wave envelopes. The manual says that it has 8 adjustable times and levels, but I don't understand what that means eg. do the times correspond to attack, decay release?...and how does each time/level affect the others?
Well they just released that Microwave VST that can be used as an editor for the MW1. So maybe in 35 years or so we will get one. In all seriousness in my case one of the reason I got the M is because I wanted a physical wavetable synth. I don't really want to use the computer to control/program my instrument. With that said I understand the usefulness of having the software to back up the instrument.
Hi Martin, first thank you for your music and video, extremely interesting. My questions what is your essential plugins, i’m asking you cause i love your music, thanks
Thank you! I use Fabfilter for mixing and mastering (EQ, Compressor, Limiter) and Valhalla DSP for creative effects (Delay, Reverb). Recently I added Eventide Blackhole Immersive to my collection, but time will tell, if I will use it on a regular basis.
My most used softsynths are Pigments, all U-He synths and Omnisphere. And everything from Luftrum, but please take this information with care, as I work for Luftrum.
Hello Martin I'm considering to by M and do not have ability to touch it physically in store. I have questions that I haven't found it in manual: 1. Is it correct that I can't use MW2 mode simultaneously in multi if it's already activated on part1 2. Can I use these new OSC's to all parts simultaneously in multi mode? Thanks
@@MartinStuertzer Maybe like an improv Dub Chord you come up with, something different than the one with parameter sequencer used. Im so into Dub these days, thats my first thought :)
I've never owned a synthesizer that expensive, but is it true that the knobs on Waldorf synths fail? Some of your encoders look quite wobbly, I'd be fuming if I paid that much for a synth that has wobbly knobs lol
ive owned 4 different waldorf m's at different stages in my constant search for my favorite synth, and none of them had any issues at all with the hardware or software. the thing is built exceptionally well

very helpful, thanks Martin
Glad to see you with the M again, was getting sad since it was no where to be seen in your setup
I used it in a few of my Home Concerts, but space is limited. :)
Thnx Martin to your contribute on sonic programming developement with Vladi ! The M users are very happy about it ;) thnx again!

@@MartinStuertzer Also, Martin, you can use Free envelope, which is simpler, yet flexible as Wave envelope
Nice little overview. Thanks
The updates w/ this synthesizer are nice and explored.

Love the M! Please more, maybe also with some beats underneath!!

As usual from Waldorf: great sounding instrument.
As usual from Waldorf: no editor/librarian

@@MartinStuertzer it is very nice from you to answer quickly like that to your follower
Thank you so much
I canr afford a Waldorf - is there any Waldorf clone software out there? Thx
Hope you can do a full Patch bank with these new Algorithms in the future
I know, that Vladi is going to patch a few more algorithms together in the future, let's wait until this is done!

found answer if anyone interested. It's not possible in both ways. only part 1
Is the 8 sufficient instead of the 16
It depends on your needs! I have the 16 voice version (although the sticker is missing)
@@MartinStuertzer what benefit does having the 16 give you? Can you layer patches?

I've had a Waldorf Iridium for 3 years and it is still as solid as the day it arrived. Of course, that's just one anecdotal report. YMMV. Take care.

mine aren't wobbly at all and I purchased mine 2nd hand
Hello, Martin 1:49
Those encoders seem concerningly wobbly.
Which encoders? The encoders on the M are very solid
