Thanks for saving my money. Genuine review. Everyday in the morning, while making rotis, I think of buying roti maker. Now I should not buy it. I make dough in Bajaj food processor, it works out perfectly.
I have been using roti maker since last 1.5 years, struggled alot initially on how to use it correctly, but somehow figured it out. The dough has to be little softer than the dough we use to make roti manually and I use little bit more oil so that I can use less of dry flour to make roti else the roti gets hards, also the roti doesn't gets cook properly on a roti maker so I cook it on a gas burner only

Make the dough softer. Coat the dough balls in little flour before pressing. They wont slip off. Flip the roti as soon as you press. Then the roti will be soft. Been using one since the last 2 years.

Thank you for being honest with your review. I tried this machine 3 years ago. After several attempts gave up. My results are exactly like yours. The machine is sitting in kitchen cabinet now. Some video suggest trick is in amount of water ( stickiness) and let the dough rest for at least 30 mins. So far my results are discouraging. There is another completely automatic machine Rotimatic. Hahaha lol you pulled my memories back when I was newly married and faced exactly same problem with roti maker ... Finally I dumped it and learned to make chapatti manually which we also call phulka ... Now I have mastered it ... :-D
I have started from roti maker and it was perfect for me. Now I can do by hand easily. Tip: Make your dough rest to develop enough gluten. It will become much softer and coat some dry flour before putting in to roti maker. That will create enough surface resistance on hot plate to avoid slipping away. I used roti maker for 2yrs without any issue. (With all puffed ones in result) Yes you said right, It needs skills. I would say if you kneed perfect dough it won't be that difficult. For someone new, it will take 1 to 2 weeks to adjust with roti maker technique. Once you learn it will be "maska" (easy) to make dozens of rotis. Liked your way of explaining though!

For making rotis with roti maker, you need to have very soft dough. Recommended to use 1.25 portion of water for 2 portions of aata. Then roti gets thin and flat when you press first time itself. Also you need to let roti a bit golden from both the sides approx 45 seconds to 1 minute each before you press it for puffing. I use roti maker occasionally and result is good.

Add lil bit more water n make more softer dough, take small portion of dough and flatten the dough on hands and dip both sides in flour and then place the dough in roti maker then it ll work
We used to have one... I don't know name of company but, after heating it for solid 15-20 min. It used to work good. No slipping or half cooked rotis ❤️ only problem was the size
Yesterday i got this roti maker, and in 1st try my roti was looking same as yours, then i made a mire softer Atta with alot more water in it, and with that they turned out perfectly
I found it better to use the roti maker, after kneading the dough separately, as you said, with more moisture. Besides, with use, I notice that the roti maker surface got rougher and then it stopped slipping at the initial moment. Slipping happens when it is too hot. For dough composition, I use the following and it works: 1. 550 g dough 2. 310 ml water 3. 1 tablespoon oil 4. 1.5 teaspoon salt (or as you want) It is important to store the kneaded dough under a wet cloth for 15-20 mins, and then make balls that should also stand for 5-10 mins. I've used Bajaj Vacco (which I am going to discard after 3 years of use). If you want the roti to come out in a swollen state, the following works for me. 1. After 5 minutes of warming, place the ball at the back as shown in the video. 2. After pressing and flattening, keep it open for 10-15 s and then turn the roti over. You may want to smear some oil with a spoon's bulging end during these 10-15 s. 3. Leave the roti in this turned state for 40-50 s. During this time again, you might want to smear oil with the bulging part of a spoon. 4. Now turn the roti, and gently close the upper lid. If all goes well, the roti will swell and come out as you often see in the ads.
I am using it for few years. To make it pop as in ads you have to do the following: 1. Make the dough as soft as you can. There is nothing like too soft. 2. Make the atta balls small. I use 35g to 40g per ball. 3. Make the atta ball flat by pressing in your palms or pressing by fingers. That will stop it from slipping out as shown in the video. 4. Cover both sides of the flatten ball with dry atta before using in the roti maker. 5. Give one good press to make the roti. As the roti maker has hot plates in both sides you have to do it in one go. Not like in the video, where it was attempted many times to make it thinner. 6. Cook one side like is a tawa keeping the roti maker top plate open. Don't overcook. Just little popping will do. 7. Turn and cook the other side like before. Again don't overcook. 8. Turn one more time. Now close the top pan of the roti maker. Your roti will pop up fully and slide out! 👍 9. Last but not least always use the rotimaker at highest temperature. Actually ones having no temperature control are better. Hope this helps

I do believe roti making is not so tough with practice . But people who dont have time or the skills to make rotis, should give the Roti maker a chance. With little practise and following good tips like making really really soft atta, and not turning the chapati too often etc, each of the rotis will turn out fluffy. Love your polite attitude and your cooking is really good. But please don't give incomplete information on gadgets. This art of roti making is excelled with patience, practice and try and error😊
With a little experience and soft dough rested for at least 15 minutes and 3" flattened dough, this 1st model of prestige roti maker makes every roti puffed perfectly. Makes 7" rotis perfectly.
As a outsider Student only problem with me is to make dough, sometimes it is hard and sometimes it is too soft. but i am good to cook A complete puffy roti always if it was round🤣🤣 we have to appreciate our mothers effort at kitchen for making thin puffy 8inch rotis even in summer time ❤❤❤
Tip for making good rotis using this machine: knead loose aata, u will get thin rotis....Crisp like tandoori roti. I am using it frequently for the past 2 years

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe demo because I have a roti maker machine and I tried many times but the result is not roti....it is khakhra...
Most mothers did a lot harder work raising a family and keeping it together. Of those, professional women, like my Mother, worked both inside and outside the home. Many mothers completed their education on a part-time basis while shouldering all other household responsibilities. Of these, meal prepatation, though time-consuming, was the least demanding task. Making Rotis is a no-brainer in comparison!
It works pretty good actually. Use some oil also while preparing the dough. Also, press the roti maker flap really fast to prevent it from slipping out. However, it's best to learn how to make roti the traditional way.
You have given the correct review ,these gadjets are really worth less ,tried both but useless as the roti comes out rubbery ,but tried making panipuris they come out very good &quick ,just got to press the Puri doughballs 5 at a time &fry these immediately ,tried &happy too
Having tried a similar roti maker, I can say that with softer dough we had no problem in producing a good looking puffed up roti but they tasted like stretched rubber strips. So after that week it has never been used again. My take on it is that it spreads the dough by stretching it under pressure and that activated gluten fibres making the roti rubbery. We tried different aata hydration and more oil but it made no difference.

That's a very very true and honest review. Many thanks for it. Otherwise all other videos are fake in which they're showing that u get a perfect roti in the roti maker, it's not true at all.
Actually making roti is much easier in roti maker ..at first I also used feel difficult as like same u did in video but later on I learned from my mom then I knew the technique after than it’s so easy than regular roti maker ..it is fast if u know the technique..main part is in making dough..it should very soft even more soft than u did in last one..and make smaller round than normal then it will squeeze in normal size ..and you are squeezing too harder and very fast . just do lightly and slow ..after that you closed the hot rid lightly then Flip the roti to another size and close it again roti will get so nicely puff up ..

For dough composition, I use the following and it works:
1. 550 g dough
2. 310 ml water
3. 1 tablespoon oil
4. 1.5 teaspoon salt (or as you want)
It is important to store the kneaded dough under a wet cloth for 15-20 mins, and then make balls that should also stand for 5-10 mins.
Nice tips 👍

Thanks! I wish I saw this review before taking a roti maker to Canada! I was doing pissed as it was f** heavy and made disastrious rotis like these! Thanks for the honest review and helping others! You are best in cooking and otherwise!
Ive been using it for years
It is a life safer for hostlers
It puffs 😈
But remains uncooked between two layers
Thank you so much. You are the first person giving such an honest review of products
The manufacturer should try themselves first, if satisfied then only market it.
Moral of the story:- knead dough with hands
Like if u agree😅
Hahhahah...theek kaha
Absolutely
Nd roti also from hand
it was bad but, he was using buttermilk whisker though
I do believe roti making is not so tough with practice . But people who dont have time or the skills to make rotis, should give the Roti maker a chance. With little practise and following good tips like making really really soft atta, and not turning the chapati too often etc, each of the rotis will turn out fluffy. Love your polite attitude and your cooking is really good. But please don't give incomplete information on gadgets. This art of roti making is excelled with patience, practice and try and error😊
youtube actually need the person like u. who give us genuine review. Go ahead all the best for ur future success.
I returned within a month...and again got tempted bought another one...had to sell it in OLX...again tempted so watching ur video..Thank you so much
Actually it's looks very FUN,🤪🤣😂🤣😂🤣
if only it worked... right now, it's disappointing

With a little experience and soft dough rested for at least 15 minutes and 3" flattened dough, this 1st model of prestige roti maker makes every roti puffed perfectly. Makes 7" rotis perfectly.
U r right a perfect kneading of dough will make the roti soft n puffed
As a outsider Student only problem with me is to make dough, sometimes it is hard and sometimes it is too soft. but i am good to cook A complete puffy roti always if it was round🤣🤣
we have to appreciate our mothers effort at kitchen for making thin puffy 8inch rotis even in summer time ❤❤❤
Wow.. The most honest review on internet.. Thank u so much for the honest review. It saved my money from being wasted. God bless u
Tip for making good rotis using this machine: knead loose aata, u will get thin rotis....Crisp like tandoori roti. I am using it frequently for the past 2 years
Thank you so much for genuine review

Absolute honest review. I like all your videos because they are simple to follow and most of the ingredients you use are easy to buy.
My daughter is a big fan of yours. She is 11 and started cooking by fallowing your videos.
You can't replace chef in the house. Everything in cooking is ART!
My roti maker is lying idle , a useless kitchen appliance..
After seeing your video i am more convinced about it.thanks
Make khakra with that roti maker

I was looking for a roti maker to buy and saw your video, good I didn't waste my money...am sure I won't get rotis cause I don't have patience..
Moral of the story: No machine can replace man 😊
it's only suggested Indian engineering is not precise enough.
Try to fly yourself.
This video of urs has made me ur fan. Thank you for the genuine review.
Very honest review. Thanks. I faced exactly the same problem
Thank you bhaiyaa I have a lot of confusion in using this
You have cleared all the doubt
Nothing beats KitchenAid stand mixer. One machine does everything.💯
It makes roti also?
It works pretty good actually. Use some oil also while preparing the dough. Also, press the roti maker flap really fast to prevent it from slipping out. However, it's best to learn how to make roti the traditional way.
You have given the correct review ,these gadjets are really worth less ,tried both but useless as the roti comes out rubbery ,but tried making panipuris they come out very good &quick ,just got to press the Puri doughballs 5 at a time &fry these immediately ,tried &happy too
Learn from any skilled person on UA-cam
Roti maker makes perfect roti better than made by hand.
I'm using rotimaker from 5 yrs and fully satisfied
Having tried a similar roti maker, I can say that with softer dough we had no problem in producing a good looking puffed up roti but they tasted like stretched rubber strips. So after that week it has never been used again. My take on it is that it spreads the dough by stretching it under pressure and that activated gluten fibres making the roti rubbery. We tried different aata hydration and more oil but it made no difference.

Thanks for the honest review!
I just purchased a roti maker was so excited but she same thing was happening to me. Don’t want to be disappointed with the purchase. Going to keep trying
Thanks for saving my money. Genuine review.
Everyday in the morning, while making rotis, I think of buying roti maker. Now I should not buy it.
Great job!!
I bought 4 roti makers. All different brands. and tried them all for a week.
Terrible .
Wish you give more of your verdicts like these.
Thank you.
Can you please show how to make KHAKRAS ??
I'll stick with the cast iron manual one and cook on my stovetop, thank you.
Great review on two fails.
Roti maker is best mavhine, saves time and efforts,
Seemingly honest review but funny at the same time 😂😂
I thought to buy this roti maker for my mom but after ur reviews, I think it’s much easier with hand than machine
I just dropped the idea to purchase it after your useful video.... thank you so much sir
Machines are not worthy. I think we can really do well with our hands. Thank you for this video.
The dough maker is like a toy for kids lol. Great review Yaman. You are such a positive guy!
U made many mistakes
1: ball was not soft enough in start
2: u didn’t flattend the ball thats why i kept sliding
3: u were putting it on very edge. It should b slightly away fron centre
3: u kept turing roti which is not good. U have to gice one side enough time to cook and then flip.
Just agree that this product is a crap because it is crap.
Yup.
I tried...it came out really well.
I followed all the points mentioned.
I brought the same product, it's such a waste of money, tried so many times, watched online but ended up disappointed with it. Now it's a trash in my home.
One of the best kitchen appliance😊
Thank you for the prompt review. Indeed I was searching for one. Now backed off.
I was wondering if somebody said this because I was going to,I can't make rotis the traditional way to save my life,so bought a Bajaj roti maker out of desperation, and even my husband makes super soft, fluffy rotis with it.Helps a lot since we both are doctors and with erratic schedules, quick, easy, fluffy rotis are available for us every time!
Can we add oil while making dough. Have you tried it
shank7243 no you don’t need ... just water is okey but you should make dough very very soft ..I haven’t tried adding oil just did it with water
@@purpleblossommakeup2727 thanks for your reply. Also, is it true that you need to consume the rotis immediately since one of my friend told me that if you eat this Roti's after few hours they become hard. When they are hot they are soft..
A food processor will be better in making the dough. Thank you fro sharing your review.
Whenever you use roti maker, make the dough soft enough and add some flour/aata on dough so that it wouldn't slip...
You still get thick crappy rotis. Only my dog eats them.
Thank you so much for this video it has saved,l was so excited to get a roti maker but l hate thick raw rotis thanks alot for saving me the heart break🙏
Very honest video. If try this we would get the same results. Thanks
Thank you sooooo much for an honest review
I got one. Happy to see you struggle just like us. Confirms that it's a Bakwaas appliance...🤷♂️
Roti makers all are a scam. None of them work.
I have been using the Roti Maker since many months now. The dough needs to be SLIGHTLY WET in consistentcy for the roti to come out well and puff up well. Regular dough will not work at all.
Very honest review thaanks to save our time and money
Thank u for saving my money by giving this review 🙏🙏🙏
I have arthritis in my hands on a very low level. So I can't knead for too long. I use my food processor kneader to get it all together and then i only need to knead with hand for 2-3 mins. The manual kneader looks more messy and tiresome
this is real review thanks aman...love u bro
Yeah instead of this spending a few hours to learn how to make rotis by watching your videos is an awesome investment 👌🏻
Clear line dough maker is a hit! I have been using it for years.. do give it a try, you won’t regret buying it. 😊
if we make dough by hands and roti in roti maker then will it be good
