ESOcast 106: ChileChill 9 - Lasers over Paranal
Вставка

- The "4 Laser Guide Star Facility" was installed at the VLT and are the most powerful laser guide stars ever used in astronomy. Creating multiple artificial stars gives a better understanding of atmospheric
conditions, which leads to a better image.

Psalm 19
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.
What's missing in the video is that sensors use these artificial stars created by the lasers to measure the atmospheric distortions and then hundred of times per second the image is corrected by the computer-controlled mirrors. It just doesn't magically "leads to a better image". Better explained here ua-cam.com/video/Muk4F_LvbYs/v-deo.html
How strong must be lasers to " do they jobs" ?
I wonder if there's an alien out there where the lazers are pointing at, thinking 'turn that bloody light off I'm trying to sleep here!' 😊
are those light laser assisted with megatelescope could track black matter?
"You may fire when ready!"
I like this background music.
Where can we see what has been observed with such as laser telescopes?
Amazing 👍
"That's no moon!"
So,they created small death star?
Great 🙏🏻 I like you
could light technology can detect dark matter and black holes?
No these make the telescope produce sharper images.
You may put my father’s check in the mail. I’ll consider a senate seat in lieu of pmt. 😅
Those must be some strong lasers.
But could they shoot a bird mid-air?

Hhhhhhh
CHI CHI CHI LE LE LE VIVA CHILE!!!
thank you for the music and starships))
May Allah be pleased with you.
Can you make one video of lasers going into space and capturing it from the space ?
Would be interesting task.....
The lasers focus on sodium atoms ( salt) clusters at between 90-100 kilometres above earth and create stars.
Makes you wonder how far away the stars really are?
They use lasers to measure the atmospheric distortion. The closest stars besides our sun are tens of trillions of miles away
These artificial stars are too faint for our eyes anyway, it is because the telescope is very sensitive that it can see them.
And international space station orbits at 408km.. good to know the focal point won't hurt anyone
See the creation of the one true God.It's perfect.
The lasers stop when they hit the firmament space is not real 👀
The music is perfect👌
Great video, thanks.

nice music
i wonder what the distance of those telescope lasers will be ?
The sodium layer where the artificial star forms is around 90 km altitude.
