After watching the end credits, I realized why "Fury" said "Don't invoke her name" when Peter asked about Captain Marvel. They were skrulls the whole time.
There are other little things that hint at the reveal in hindsight. Hill Calls Fury Nicholas. And when Fury is introducing Beck to Peter he says Beck isn't from "your Earth" instead of "our Earth."
I don't know why, but that whole illusion scene to me felt like one of the most comic book moments in any comic book movie. I could so imagine this scene in a comic book where he flies from room to different room and it would be from panel to panel. Great scene.
@Varzlofire Was thinking the same thing. Had the writers been clever enough and had Mysterio somehow found out some or Perter's backstory, it might have been a clever way to bring in uncle Ben without the who history of the "Great power, great responsibility" part which we had seen done so many times before. But given the pace of the story, I am fine with what we got. But that Tony skeleton head even at this age got to me and I was like "We only just lost the guy a few weeks ago. Come on."
Pretty ironic how you saw one the most "comic book moments" in a movie that have completely ignored all of those comic books by reducing the presence of the most important person in Peter's life, Uncle Ben. But go on.
@@antona.8659 Not everything about Spider Man has to revolve around Uncle Ben. Yes his presence is definitely missing. But this illusion scene got me right into it. Even up until the Nick Fury fake out.

@@MrRebel247 Simple "J. K. Simmons" Not to mention we have like 5 spider man movie but this is the first time public know his identity. I know it happened in comic but for movie, this is the first time.
Tara Tara if the rest of avengers have their identities known (and as a result their families identities too), having spideys id known is not a big deal at all.
@@MrRebel247 He's always wanted to keep his identity secret so he can protect his friends and family, but I guess other heroes have been able to keep their family relatively safe so that might not be the biggest issue, so in this case the main problem is that Peter won't be able to have a normal teenage life again. I doubt he'll ever be able to go to school again, and him and Aunt May will probably be forced to live in the Avengers facility or some other safe house.
They went no where with it though. There should have been something similar for the end fight between Spider-Man and Mysterio. It should have been a HELL of a lot more challenging for Spider-Man. Should have been a good mix of that wow cinematic factor and good action and tension. But no, the fight is over in 2 seconds because Peter’s Spider Sense wants to work 100% conveniently just because Peter thinks real hard for a moment. That was really lazy on the writers and producers part.
Sara Katherine Our theater cheered and clapped at that part too! And then we all cheered and clapped again after the whole scene was over with the big plot twist
It was cool. But for me, his greatest character moment was when he caught Mysterio's hand which wanted to kill him, and said he'll never trick him again. :) He was so badass, confident, determined, but also hurt at the same time.
Seeing J.K. Simmons return to play J. Jonah Jameson leaves me with only one conclusion: there is a multiverse, where there are infinite different versions of Peter Parker and all other people on Earth, except J. Jonah Jameson, he is the same in every multiverse Universe.
Should've had one more credit scene where jk goes off camera and Tobey McGuire plays ted raimis role, pops his head in a door and gets yelled at to get out!
Far From Home really upped the game when it comes to end-credits scenes, goddamn. Mysterio revealing Peter's identity, J. Jonah Jameson reveal, Nick Fury was a Skrull. Damn, those are some bombs to drop.
Marvel: We can replace anybody as long as we cast it right! Right? Sony: Sure Marvel: Peter Parker? Sony: Yep Marvel: Betty Brant? Sony: Yep Marvel: Flash Thompson? Sony: Mhmmm Marvel: MJ? Sony: Oh yeah Marvel: J Jonah Jameson? Sony: Lol no
I wouldn't put that much faith in Sony out of all companies to have facilitated this. Keep in mind, if they had their way, we'd have an Aunt May film by now.
@@stevangonzalez5908 There was rumors he was chameleon before the film was released. The actor was just in Disney's Alladin in a big role and then had a pointless role in this film. I feel marvel have plans for him going forward. Maybe he's an 'OUT' if there is a backlash to the mid-credits revelation.
Mysterio: -Played by Jake Gyllenhaal (one of the best actors today) -Master of illusions and has been doing this all movie Yeah no way he's dead, at least he better not be
Yeah I think the audience’s backlash against Brie Larson as the new face of the mcu wasn’t sitting well. I hope they continue with Spider-Man as the face of the mcu until a better character and person can take over.
Jeff Hicks There is no character better than Spider-Man. They're making him the head of the MCU because that's how it should have been from the start like it is in the comics.
Ted Tom it was dope. I think Happy is going to end up being like the comic book version of Jarvis not the A.I. I think He's going to be particularly responsible for getting together the new avenger's team.
the part that raised my eyebrow was when Maria Hill told Happy that Nick Fury didnt have any suspicion about Quentin Beck and Fury didnt give her the death stare. i was thinking no one has the guts to say such to Fury and not be verbally torn to shreds and also Maria Hill and Fury are like buddies now???? then it made sense after the credits....
@@noobattempts That's DC. Marvel Zombies is a fun what if that wasn't canon (er sort of), and Blackest Night was the equivalent, but was very much a canon event that lead to a bunch of crossovers and even an infinite crisis storyline that reset everything.
Mysterio is hands down one the greatest MCU villains and he was so perfectly done and so comic accurate! All I can say to those end credits scenes is holy freaking crap, what the freaking hell!!!!!!?????? JK Simmons coming back as J Jonah Jameson is so amazing.
I really liked the fight sequences between Spiderman vs Mysterio...they were so trippy and felt exactly how they would be if a comic book panel came to life.
Daniel Fisher or making it realistic cause no one buys newspapers anymore it’s 2024 in that movie. If you’re still reading the newspaper then props to you lmao.
Peter needs to keep his identity a secret (despite being able to make money off it) because he has people close to him that others can hurt to extort/hurt peter. Its not the same for iron man because hes rich and has high tech facilities and guards. Thor has no one on earth, hulk has no one, cap has no one, widow has no one, scarlet witch has no one. Black panther is the king of a damn country. See my point? Peter’s identity being revealed is a MUCH bigger risk for him and his family/friends
I think it's also to do with the fact though that he just wants to live a normal life. A lot of this movie was based around the idea that Peter just wants to have a normal summer. If he was bothered about fame and money, he would have revealed himself in Homecoming at the party.
Chase Thomas yeah but let’s be honest . The US government went after Stark for having the Iron Man suit alone. Now that they know Peter has the ultimate weapon I could see them going after him
*After watching Spider-Man: Far From Home again, I doubt Mysterio is dead.* Mysterio's death was most likely an illusion. MCU has something of a reputation for fake deaths, & in Mysterio's case he's a master of illusion. The script attempts to encourage viewers it's real, with Spider-Man asking EDITH if he's is really dead. EDITH assures him that it's not an illusion. However, Mysterio has a lot of experience with Stark tech as he's been working with Stark Industries drones for years & has a good idea what they're capable of & had time to experiment with EDITH's drones as well. Mysterio will be very familiar with the advanced sensor suite EDITH has access to & it's not unlikely that he figured out how to fool this tech. Even EDITH isn't a reliable witness & it's entirely possible Mysterio faked his death. In the mid-credits scene of Mysterio giving Spider-Man's identity to the public could be the first step of his plan, which would surely see him "resurrected" to the delight of an adoring public. Besides, MCU clearly has a Sinister Six idea in mind as they had Vulture meeting Scorpion at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
My theory is that the entire end battle where mysterio tries to seem like a hero, was actually just for spiderman, the entire purpose was to frame spiderman with him taking edith and spiderman thinking he is dead. I mean did he really think that train would kill spiderman, spidey is famous and people know what he has survived before.
Cole Eckerman good theory. I also think that when Parker asked EDITH if he was dead, Mysterio had EDITH trick Parker by only saying it’s not an illusion but not saying that he’s dead.
gotta say, not a fan of the last two Marvel intros, Endgame with the music right after Clint family was snapped completely brought me out of the mood and this one wasn't much better tbh. would have loved more either the normal intro theme or the spiderman theme from homecoming or its upgraded version.
I think everyone knew mysterio was the villain but I see the twist as mysterio is just a regular guy I love that it’s kinda meta and that he’s in a mocap suit
I'm here to only say, as a long time fan, please don't change your delivery style, hand movements included! Your individual personality, including gestures, and opinions is what I come for!
i said “oh my god” out loud and almost jumped out of my seat when i saw JK Simmons lmao also, that illusion scene has got to be one of the coolest action scenes i’ve seen since Doctor Strange
@@mrtrollmc1 cause he literally asks if this is an real or not. BUT it could be real not an illusion but fake death im not sure anyways this movie BADASS
Dover Dove I caught something in this scene. The script avoids Peter asking to “read his vitals” or “is he dead” because that would confirm mysterio being dead right? Instead Peter asks if this is real. Now I believe the script is set up so that the response is “all illusions are disabled” they are avoiding the question if mysterio is actually dead
@@Dover236 i thought peter ask that cuz he afraids of another illusion... not mysterio vital whatsoever.. so if mysterio turns out alive.. not really surprised 😂
The mysterio illusions were my favorite part of the movie probably because they reminded me of the scarecrow illusions in the Batman Arkham series. Absolutely amazing movie
The most shocking moment in the movie for me was immediately after the awesome illusion sequence, that train hitting Peter and almost killing him was one of the most painful things I’ve ever seen in an MCU film. It was so shocking and so sudden that I really loved it.
Oh yeah, the sudden change in pace was jarring, and then just getting slammed by a train going full-speed. My shock slowly ebbed into horror when you saw his bloodied hands pulling himself up from the bottom of the train and how thrashed he was when he climbed in.
I loved how hard Peter got his ass beat in this movie. Him being hit by a train and him limping all bloodied up at the end is a classic Spider-Man look I love it
The Bombastic AR The train didn't almost kill him. He was just mildly bruised/bloodied and passed out due to him being emotionally exhausted by the illusion sequence and then suddenly being ripped out of it by a train hitting him. He's taken much worse than a full speed bullet train to the face.
The Bombastic AR If he nearly died, then he wouldn't have been able to climb into the train or wake up a couple of hours later. He also would have looked much more injured, but all he had was a tiny bit of blood and some bruising. He's shrugged off much worse than that. I mean, he's taken a full-forced punch to the face from Thanos and got right back up and overpowered a Hulk-level alien (Cull Obsidian) without even trying. Getting hit by a train should be nothing for him.
J.J.J: "We do we call this guy?" "[Stammers] Dr.Octopus." J.J.J: "Nah, that's crap." "Uuuh. Science squid." J.J.J: "Crap." "Dr.Strange." J.J.J: "That's pretty good. BUT IT'S TAKEN!!" J.J.J: "Oh wait I got it. Dr.Octopus." "Uuuh. I like it."
Mysterio was wonderfully potraied in "far from home", I thought that no one could ever pull off mysterio in live action but marvel smashed it, mysterio walking with a motion capture suit was BRILLIANT.
I'm still glad they tried to hide the Mysterio thing. Sure, for comic books fans it was extremely obvious but these movies are made for huge audiences and I bet many people were incredibly surprised.
A lot of people knew or suspected that he would be the villain, but no one guessed how they would present and execute that twist. Marvel did an amazing job with Mysterio here.
Honestly, with the whole it could be multiverse thing they were going with at first, IF he was actually from the multiverse, this version of Mysterio could have genuinely been a good guy. They did that all of the time with the multiverse aspect, the heroes alternate versions being bad guys, the bad guys being good and etc. I still thought Mysterio was going to be bad somehow, but I did think it was possible he may just be a good guy version from an alternate universe.
Funny thing is, JJJ was meant to be an exaggerated parody of attention-hungry, scaremongering journalists, but compared to what kinds of "journalists" we have now, he'd be seen as about a moderate-level wackjob if he were real.
Same. He’s always been my favorite Spider-Man villain. I always loved him because I fell that unlike scorpion or rhino, he didn’t use technology to fight Spider-Man. Granted, he did use technology in this one but it was still mysterio-like
It's why I'm so glad they just made him another scientist mad at Tony Stark. Who needs character motivations when you can just pull the "sempai didn't notice me" card?
nan Spider-Man should get at least two trilogies, cross over with Venom and Carnage at some point, and the reveal of his identity at the end of FFH should be a serious plot point in the next movie and not a joke
Yep, they used that mask in AOS, where a Hydra agent got her face stuck in one of those masks Id imagine Chameleon could also get a similar origin of not being able to take it off
I laughed when Beck was all angrily like "Stark took credit for my tech... and he named it *barf*" like in my head for a second, it was the barf part that got to him and not the stealing. Like go ahead Stark take credit, just give it a cool name.
I loved it. I actually liked the first half with the teen comedy and romance. I thought Tom and Zendaya had great chemistry and it was funny. The last hour and 1/2 was crazy! Quenten was a great villain and the twists were very ballsy.
Horen LastTeacher I can’t tell if Jeremy’s doing a running gag from when he didn’t know her name first time or he genuinely dosent know her name is Maria Hill. :P
they were wearing their costumes at the bar bc it was right after carnival night and the whole city was in costumes nobody would've taken them seriously
I really hope they drop sword jnto the mcu. Just because shield is so badass (its very apparent if you watch AOS) and if sword js anything like them itll be amazing.
I just loved how they made him look like Nightcrawler in the flashback scenes I knew mystero was going to be the villain, I just had no idea how and I loved it!
The writing for this movie was genious, even the Mysterio nerds were seriously wondering if he was going to be a villain or not. Well played Marvel, well played.
I want J Jonah Jameson in every MCU movie criticizing every hero they have. Hell remake the other movies just so he can argue about the heroes. Mannn J Jonah Jameson during Civil War would've been Sweeeeeet
There's also the potential setup of the Sinister Six if Beck is still alive, plus Scorpion, Shocker, Vulture, get two more guys and Sony can complete the prophecy.

After watching the end credits, I realized why "Fury" said "Don't invoke her name" when Peter asked about Captain Marvel. They were skrulls the whole time.
Yooo I didn't even think about this at all 🤣 so not a Fury line at all.
Or because it was a meta comment about how fans were pissed at her
Oh and Talos has only been Fury for like 1-2 weeks
Nice catch! I remember thinking that line was weird, but yeah that makes perfect sense.
I could easily imagine Steranko doing it.
Peter tingle moment in hallway for me
@Varzlofire Was thinking the same thing.

That scene when Spider-Man had been tricked by hollogram projector from Mysterio. Was so brilliantly done.

Luke Navarro Peter also has EDITH which is the toppest notch of security you can get. I’m sure they’ll elaborate in the third instalment

Plus.. what was it that "killed" Mysterio?? Was it an invisible drone? Or his gun, somehow? I didn't see what was supposed to have killed him...
@@joshuahughes4704 I think it was supposed to be the drone wound that killed the "real" Mysterio (as well as the fake one obviously)

Having the opening credits sing “I will always love you” made it feel more like a Deadpool intro if you ask me.
Hinting at a potential Spider-Man/Deadpool movie maybe?

Djrocks Gaming dude, he nearly died
The Bombastic AR If he nearly died, then he wouldn't have been able to climb into the train or wake up a couple of hours later. He also would have looked much more injured, but all he had was a tiny bit of blood and some bruising. He's shrugged off much worse than that. I mean, he's taken a full-forced punch to the face from Thanos and got right back up and overpowered a Hulk-level alien (Cull Obsidian) without even trying. Getting hit by a train should be nothing for him.

A lot of people knew or suspected that he would be the villain, but no one guessed how they would present and execute that twist. Marvel did an amazing job with Mysterio here.
@Iam NoOne people from other parts of the world who haven't read comics also wouldn't know
Honestly, with the whole it could be multiverse thing they were going with at first, IF he was actually from the multiverse, this version of Mysterio could have genuinely been a good guy. They did that all of the time with the multiverse aspect, the heroes alternate versions being bad guys, the bad guys being good and etc.
I still thought Mysterio was going to be bad somehow, but I did think it was possible he may just be a good guy version from an alternate universe.

I just loved how they made him look like Nightcrawler in the flashback scenes
I knew mystero was going to be the villain, I just had no idea how and I loved it!
That look on his face when Tony announced the name as BARF 🤣
YASSS!!!!
MAN I LOVE YOU FOR GETTING THAT NIGHTCRAWLER REFERENCE.. another way to convey that jake is fucked up !!
Love nightcrawler, such an underrated movie
Post credit scene 1 was an even bigger cliffhanger than Infinity War
Perfect timing Jeremy I've just walked out of the screening and was looking for your spoiler review
Quentin was literally like this to Peter: "Truth is, the game was rigged from the start."
Best. Post. Credit. Scene. Ever.
Makes you really appreciate his "that's the saddest part." Line. He'd already destroyed Pete as he lay/stood dying.
Scientist: How many illusions do you want to create?
Mysterio: Yes
Nick and hill should’ve kiss right before the big reveal ...that would’ve made good for the audience reaction
JonnyCashh you know that we’ll be a good part
Ehh nah we could live without that.
Totally agree with your opinion on the second half being better, this was exactly how I wanted mysterio to be in a spiderman movie
The writing for this movie was genious, even the Mysterio nerds were seriously wondering if he was going to be a villain or not.
Well played Marvel, well played.
Edoardo Prevelato it’s Sony though
No. They weren't.. Anyone with half a brain KNEW the 'twist'. It was so obvious, it wasn't even really a twist.
really? I'm not even a mysterio or comic nerd and I thought it was obvious that he'd turn on Spidey
I went in knowing that Mysterio is the villain. However I didn't expect the Elementals to be fake and that Mysterio didn't really have superpowers.
@@kingofthehills34 A sony movie made by marvel
I was the only one in the theater that cheered when JJJ came up on screen... it was a depressing moment.
Same man. I was so happy when they showed him that I almost screamed. So many casuals
Jason Robbins maybe some were left speechless with their jaws wide open like I was
Everyone was clapping and cheering in my theater, I barely even heard what JJJ was saying
Jason Robbins generation is too young to have seen the origins JJJ
Lamo its alright i yelled when i saw him lol
Chameleons tech was used in Captain America: Winter Soldier! Black widow used it.
Nick Fury: how's the new suit??
Peter: it's nice, just a little tight around the 'old web shooter' .....😅
Nick Fury: Peter!!!
Peter: okay bye!!
Fury yells “Parker!” just so you know. Still loved the scene though.
I want J Jonah Jameson in every MCU movie criticizing every hero they have. Hell remake the other movies just so he can argue about the heroes.
Mannn J Jonah Jameson during Civil War would've been Sweeeeeet
Could have a flashback on him from Iron Man to him getting the video in Far From Home.
There was only one true J. Jonah Jameson
Ed Asner?
There's also the potential setup of the Sinister Six if Beck is still alive, plus Scorpion, Shocker, Vulture, get two more guys and Sony can complete the prophecy.
they brought in electro and doc oc so it might happen
