.......its growing a new leaf and it has green root tips......so its not in bad shape, the markings look more like physical damage vs pest or viral damage......Bacterial, fungal and viral infections usually show as irregular random markings on leaves.....not a pattern.......the marks on the top leaf are the same as the leaf below......looks like they got caught between something and crimped......maybe the rim of the muti sided pot below....??......to me it doesnt look like a virus......but Im seeing it in video form not in person.
@@rickl.orchids I know it’s almost pretty, the patterns. It was on a top shelf. Nothing sat on top of it. I’m still suspecting the cymbidium mosaic virus. The mosaic virus is very patterned. It’s very suspicious. If I see another plant with this pattern, that will confirm. Nothing yet and it was very snuggled with several other plants. Although snuggled it wasn’t crimping any of the leaves. Such a mystery 🤔
If it’s a virus, I would probably get rid of it as hard as that is to do. If you can safely isolate it, that could be an option. So sorry that it is on an orchid you love. 😢
@@lindaannb I know…I’m worried it might spread whatever it is. None of the other orchids show any signs of the patterning…so hopefully it hasn’t spread if it is a virus. 🤞🏻 as of now I’m isolating it as it’s growing a beautiful new leaf and beautiful new roots.
Physan 20, isolate and retreat as needed until it is gone. Treat the area it was in, too, so your other plants don’t catch it.😢. I hope it gets better! Keep us posted.
@@deedeeblooms7896 you can use Physan in a spray bottle. Spray the undersides of other orchid leaves in that area, and water their pots with it, once, to make sure to eradicate it and keep it from spreading.
Gosh, I have never seen anything like it 😮 It really is suspicious. If it is a vírus, no treatment will work, no cure. But virused orchids can still live and bloom, just be careful to isolate it, not to infect others. Good luck. And Thank you for sharing this video ❤❤❤❤
interesting...i assume you haven't tested it? also, did the other leaves always have that patterning as they grew? did it show up after each leaf matured in succession, or did it show up all at once? honestly i have no idea what it could be, just asking for clarification...thanks, and sorry bout your plant...

@@loribadgero1035 I’ll look into getting Physan 20. Do you thinks it’s the mosaic virus? 😩
@@deedeeblooms7896 I’m not sure, but if it is, yuck!

I had similar markings and they told me it was a bug munching. 🤷🏼♀️

@@elpilarorchids hi 👋🏻 the patterns suddenly showed up. I would have to look up how to test it. Hmmmm….
@@deedeeblooms7896 ah, gotcha...you can buy test strips just like for covid...similar process. good luck with the detective work and the plant!!
It looks like a snail or slug crawled across it. I dk. Interesting.
