I love the fragrance and beauty of zygopedalums! I had one many years ago that didn’t bloom until I put it outside for the summer. I gave it away when I had a series of back surgeries and it died for its new owner.😢 I’ve hesitated to get another one because I grow indoors under lights 8-9 months a year, and my last one was pretty large. Yours are blooming as smaller plants. Are there zygos of different sizes or are yours young orchids that will eventually get big?
Beautiful orchid thanks ❤❤
If a Man brought me these! The answer is YES!!!💍💒😂
Even though having a reason to think of your German shepherd baby is sad, it is also the kind of sad that you hope to experience because it means you get to see those that ar lost. And Eli welcome this reflective sadness. Beautiful plants as well! Nice extremes between the two
Beautiful blooms! The Sweet Cheyenne is very nice. I have one too, but it has never bloomed for me in the several years I've had it. This past spring I kicked it outdoors. I hope it does something eventually 🤞. It's really interesting that we detect scents differently. The Propetalum smells like rootbeer to me. Lol
Absolutely stunning!💛
@@sheiselwilliams1 my 3rd flower is still going strong. This blooms for a good amount of time, another bonus!
Mine just bloomed and I love its fragrance ❤
@@angelachau271 the fragrance is divine!

Very beutiful flower❤❤❤
Great unboxing! Love the phal Jiaho Pink Girl with two spikes, very nice! I got one but mine is still too small , and though I know they can bloom while very small, but mine don't have a spike this year, So I think I have to wait one more year!
@@marygorchidsmore2058 Pink Girl is absolutely precious…she’s little by little opening each bud. I hope yours blooms soon!
Gorgeous blooms, love the colour and pattern! Also the strong fragrance is a bonus! Thanks for sharing.
Nice new additions. They all look nice and healthy. 😊

I have a Phal exactly like the one you first showed. That Star shaped pink one. When you pulled out the tag, I was hopeful that you had a name. Lol 😄.... I love your Angraecum distichum 🤩. It's so cool.
Lovely haul! I have Miltonias that get morning filtered sun in Intermediate temps. & all thrive. The Den. Fire Wings are very expensive in Australia & hard to find. It is beautiful!

@@annavoeggia816 they are amazing! I hope I can keep them going long term.
MasyaAllah very beutiful plant orchid
@@Rufiat99 Thank you!
watering more will not solve your harmonica leaves. I know it is tempting to believe that as it is the easiest answer and people like easy but if you are growing orchids you should avoid going for easy. Your orchid will never grow out of the harmonica leaves if you don't treat the underlying reason. Since you won't believ me, I will just leave my comment at that and in 4 years time if this plant is still alive by then, it will still have harmonica leaves and you will ask yourself, well blimey, orchid growers always assured me they knew what they were talking about but there was that one really smart handsome guy online who tried to tell me...
@@tomfurmby88 Thanks for pointing out the harmonica leaves are not a simple answer. It’s overall the challenge of mimicking the moisture needs they get in their natural habitat, which includes humidity. I think I have them in too bright of light as well.
I would have been interested to see you pot those plants up. Maybe you can do that on another episode? It's just interesting to see the medium that people use, whether or not they trim old roots, how much they actually clean the plant and disturb the roots, etc. I can see that you have fairly good luck with your plants so that gives me some idea that you know what you're doing. Thank you for the video.
@@anndriggers6660 Thanks so much for watching and your feedback. I will look for potting video opportunities. I will only want to do this for ones that are established and actually thrive in my care. I wouldn’t want to show you my potting new ones I’ve never had before, you get one and do the same thing and then mine die afterwards from what I did. These all being new to me I’m doing my best guessing. Just a few snippets about my potting methods…if it’s a thirsty type of orchid, like Oncidiums, Coelygne, Cochleanthes, Bulbophyllum, Paphiopedilums, I use mostly moss with a smattering of bark & perlite thrown around but if it’s one that needs to dry out or mostly dry out in between, like Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, Encyclia, Dendrobium, I use half and half moss with bark & perlite.
O what two lovley orchids .love catleys but never have any luck with them .nice vido .london
Great haul, very healthy and large sized orchids! I have the l.cinnabarina too, but your one is much bigger than mine! I got mine few months ago but I think it's very slow growing. Thanks for sharing and good luck with them 😊
Hi Dee Dee, I've got this one had it for many years, also got it from Ecuagenera. Definitely a cooler grower, cool and wet😊
@@justinsdutchtropics thanks for the tips! I’m really hoping to be successful with it. The leaves are curling in on themselves. Probably in shock.
@@deedeeblooms7896 yeah I get that also, I think it might mean too warm. When they are grown cooler and moist the leaves develop perfectly. Cool, wet , humid. Not the easiest to reproduce, fortunately that's kind of what the Dutch summer is like🤣
Hi Dee Dee, You got a fantastic haul there! I also have a Laelia cinnabarina. One thing to know is that you should reduce watering and reduce or eliminate fertilizer during winter until new growth appears in the spring. Hugs, Sherrii
@@sheiselwilliams1 Thanks for the tip! 💕
@@deedeeblooms7896 You're very welcome.
Your bark looks amazing quality 😂 is it Orchiata? I can never find good quality bark, the stuff around here is like potting soil!

What a cute bloom😊. Glad you were able to salvage a section of it. Congrats on blooming it!
Hi Dee Dee, The Celtic Sun 'Maya' is really beautiful. Your Amazing Andea lives up to her name. It's too bad she isn't fragrant. I have a problem keeping Oncidium alliance from having accordion leaves even in self watering pots. That's a great hint about repotting if the roots begin to grow on top of the medium. Thanks for all you do! Sherrii
@@sheiselwilliams1 hi 👋🏻 I just discovered a fragrance on the Amazing Andrea…early in the morning!! Very sweet, candy smell. 👃🏻 She’s been blooming for me for several years and I must not have tried to smell her early in the morning. It’s not strong. You’ve got to stick your nose in the flower but it’s there 😜 Yay!
Amazing
Thanks Dee Dee. This is exactly the helpful (and encouraging) information I came looking for on the internet, trying to convince myself I might be able to grow this outside. I'm in northern Calif. in an area that never gets frost, but does sometimes get down into the mid 30's overnight in winter. The stated cultural requirements for various types of orchids often completely underestimate their actual range, I guess because most growers have simply never questioned or tested those limits. I have a Latoria type Dendrobium that was so happy outdoors during the summer, that I just let it stay, intending as you did with your Phaius to bring it in if it was unhappy come winter. But it took the winter in stride. So now thanks to you, I'll give Lady Ramona Harris a try. And subscribe to your channel.
@@DianeWinters-oq9rk I’m so happy seeing how mine grow is helpful! I absolutely agree the cultural requirements online underestimate the orchids capability. I do appreciate them guiding us towards their sweet spots though. But it’s just not reasonable sometimes to bring them in and out for the seasons so if they can do well outside year round in my environment…Yay!!! This winter season will be my first keeping my large cymbidiums under tree cover instead of patio cover. It’s a tree that keeps leaves year round. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻
Do you have a cat? Look like bite marks…
@@getwow113 Hi 👋🏻 I have several cats. This was on a shelf in the middle of a bunch of other orchids. The shelf is not accessible to my cats. So not cat munchies. One of the leaves browned up and fell off so far. The new leaf growing looks great, no weird patterns.
OMG, That's the cutest little spike! Can't wait to see the blooms.🤩
What a cute Bulbo! Very exciting that it spiked for you. 😊
Ini anggrek yang sangat cantik dan unik
It looks like a snail or slug crawled across it. I dk. Interesting.
@@evergreen8965 they are actual grooves. The mystery continues….
Lovely blooms..thanks for sharing your orchids with us..
.......its growing a new leaf and it has green root tips......so its not in bad shape, the markings look more like physical damage vs pest or viral damage......Bacterial, fungal and viral infections usually show as irregular random markings on leaves.....not a pattern.......the marks on the top leaf are the same as the leaf below......looks like they got caught between something and crimped......maybe the rim of the muti sided pot below....??......to me it doesnt look like a virus......but Im seeing it in video form not in person.
@@rickl.orchids I know it’s almost pretty, the patterns. It was on a top shelf. Nothing sat on top of it. I’m still suspecting the cymbidium mosaic virus. The mosaic virus is very patterned. It’s very suspicious. If I see another plant with this pattern, that will confirm. Nothing yet and it was very snuggled with several other plants. Although snuggled it wasn’t crimping any of the leaves. Such a mystery 🤔
interesting...i assume you haven't tested it? also, did the other leaves always have that patterning as they grew? did it show up after each leaf matured in succession, or did it show up all at once? honestly i have no idea what it could be, just asking for clarification...thanks, and sorry bout your plant...
@@elpilarorchids hi 👋🏻 the patterns suddenly showed up. I would have to look up how to test it. Hmmmm….
@@deedeeblooms7896 ah, gotcha...you can buy test strips just like for covid...similar process. good luck with the detective work and the plant!!
If it’s a virus, I would probably get rid of it as hard as that is to do. If you can safely isolate it, that could be an option. So sorry that it is on an orchid you love. 😢
@@lindaannb I know…I’m worried it might spread whatever it is. None of the other orchids show any signs of the patterning…so hopefully it hasn’t spread if it is a virus. 🤞🏻 as of now I’m isolating it as it’s growing a beautiful new leaf and beautiful new roots.
Gosh, I have never seen anything like it 😮 It really is suspicious. If it is a vírus, no treatment will work, no cure. But virused orchids can still live and bloom, just be careful to isolate it, not to infect others. Good luck. And Thank you for sharing this video ❤❤❤❤
Physan 20, isolate and retreat as needed until it is gone. Treat the area it was in, too, so your other plants don’t catch it.😢. I hope it gets better! Keep us posted.
@@loribadgero1035 I’ll look into getting Physan 20. Do you thinks it’s the mosaic virus? 😩
@@deedeeblooms7896 I’m not sure, but if it is, yuck!
@@deedeeblooms7896 you can use Physan in a spray bottle. Spray the undersides of other orchid leaves in that area, and water their pots with it, once, to make sure to eradicate it and keep it from spreading.

@@f.dangerfield3549 great suggestion! I had everything on a log on an external drive and when it dropped to the ground and busted…I lost all that info.
Hi Dee Dee, You have a beautiful collection. I have a Phragmipedium Eric Young also. His blooms are so cute, and I love the peach color. You can expect even more blooms. I purchased mine as near blooming size in October 2023 and it bloomed from the beginning of March to the end of July 2024, with 8 sequential blooms. I also have a larger cousin to your Chocolate Chip. Mine is a Den. Spotted Poni (Den. Roy Tokunaga × Little Atro). It does seem like the blooms take a long time to develop, however they can last for several monthes. Also the canes can bloom multiple times. I hope you enjoy them both for many years! Hugs, Sherrii
@@sheiselwilliams1 wow 8 blooms! 😻 That would be fantastic! Eric Young is still on the 3rd bloom, looking so beautiful 🤩 and working on the 4th bud. Did you support the flower spike? Good to know the lautoria types can rebloom from the same cane…reminds me of my Aussie Dendrobiums. Thanks so much for sharing your experience on our shared types of orchids 💕
@@deedeeblooms7896 Hi Dee Dee, No, I didn't support the flower spike. I had it on an upper shelf of a plant stand where it would get bumped into and where my dogs tails wouldn't be near it. It didn't have any problems with the weight of the blooms as it extended. Mine only had one bloom open at a time.
