I love his powerful emotive voice. It shows anguish and rage unlike any voice that I have ever heard. It even relieves my stress and depression. So cathartic. Their guitar sound and his voice are a magic combination. I know that he says that his goal is to spread misery but it is like therapy to me. He makes me realize that my life could be so much worse mental health wise.
What does that even mean ?I hear a perfectly integrated ,sane individual posing as some manic suicidal scandinavian edgelord poseur ...and I have to hand it over to him, he does a great job at that .
They have been so good for so long that it may be hard to improve upon their past work. They can just continue on with their perfection at any rate. He puts so much into his vocals that I fear he will destroy his voice by just blowing it out. It seems very strong but it could still be damaged. It is totally unique as is their whole sound. Just backing Niklas and Peter up would take a talented band. So inspiring.
They have had so many lineup changes that it almost feels like Niklas and Peter with the latest session musicians(killer ones though). They keep top notch musicians in this band. They have to to keep that Shing sound alive. So incredible. That voice is so unique.
At this point it feels like he gets musicians for an album cycle only because of his ever changing tastes and infinite connections in the extreme metal world.
@@Tha3rdworldghost Not likely I spoke to patria Thomas I think it was back in the day on liie VIII release and she said its up to like night club managers to book them i think was her words. This is the Shining sound since Shining IV. Before that they were just an uninspiring industrial black metal band. They are inspired genius from IV on. I think largely due to the guitarist Peter Huss. He and Niklas make a great team and have made Shining a unique and original band. I do not think they would be around at all without Peter Huss.
damn, I'm kind of let down. I felt like the last album was a lot more of a push forward to adding new elements to their sound. This sounds like it could have been on Varg Utan Flock while the previous song/video sounded like Halmstad. was hoping for some new sounds.
Same old Shining that has been on every album since Halmstad. Listen to Claws of Perdition from Shining IV The Eerie Cold and then re-listen to this one. The interlude clean and transition back into the verse is almost identical to that on the last track of The Eerie Cold. Don't get me wrong, this song is solid, but I feel like Kvarforth is very uninspired and has just been recycling riffs and various parts from the songs that Shining is known for.
Yeah true it does seem recycled and rehashed although I think what Niklas is doing since he seems to have writers block possibly towards new rhythms perhaps he's mixing and trying out some new rhythms with the old like adding a different spin on it possibly? Or perhaps not still a good track in my eyes
@@mattfugate9029 I absolutely agree. I mean with the constant change / turn around for the lineup in the band, I imagine that makes songwriting more complex if you do not have a consistent line up. Although Kvarforth claims to be the primary songwriter, I am sure Huss (who is the longest reigning member of Shining asides from Kvarforrh) has some input as well but if you cant get a band together enough times to rehearse, the results are going to remain the same.
@@mattfugate9029 I do hear some riffs very similar to past songs especially on the first two tracks. Track 3,4, and 6 are more new sounding guitar riffs but still sound like Shining. Track 4 is my favorite with a great Peter Huss lead.
@@robertcarder4979 Yeah like I said it seems to be recycled and re-used which I am not totally against I did love the album and I can hear they're trying to make a newer sound but there's only so much innovation you can have sticking to a genre but overall the album was gnarly in my opinion
solid and undoubtedly shining! but nothing really new, what shines out and blows me away, sadly. the eerie cold just managed to blow me away in those old times.
Shining being shining, nothing new, everything is so familiar to my ears and i love it..

Nothing new, nothing old. Shining keeps it real!!! Nice song overall.
Niklas did wonders again. His perfect voice and rendition are amazingly beautiful ❤️🤘❤️

Is it just me or are niklas kvarforth's vocals getting better?
As good as ever it would seem. Absolutely love this album.
My favorite metal band makes another incredible song. Shining onward.

Love the progressive nature of the song
Reminds me of Halmstad!
@@KiloooNLhalmstad is my favorite album from them.
This is realy brilliant❤ Kan't stop listening the whole Album, fucking great sound atmosphere
That guitar solo is 1 of best i ever heard. Randy rhoads would even admire it. N this band is killer.

Tasty guitar solo!
I love their solos
Not many bands have their own sound
Love the new song with the familiar sound. While it doesn't help it can make you angry enough to bear through the hardships.
Loved the spoken part between 3:52 and 4:21

Fan from New Zealand i really like the dirtyness of this track, f'n good job 🤘 that solo 😉
I'm also a fan from NZ! Hopefully Shining will come to New Zealand one day, but I doubt it.

Reinvented the same song formula again. Doesn't have to be a bad thing, but there's definitely a signature song structure and vibe, at the very least.
