  • While I was away in Wales, and on a pilgrimage to St Davids to visit the Cathedral, I heard the bells ringing and found there was a practise session going on. I did considering having a grab at Llandaff the previous night, but I was having my dinner at the hotel. It was at the tail end of the session and they were about to finish, so I was lucky to have a few call changes with me on the 7th. The bells are a 24cwt ring of 10 tuned to D housed in a detached tower, cast in 1928 and the two trebles in 2001. What a pleasure it was, even if it was short. Who knows, I may ring here again.

I love how the bells are housed in Porth-y-Tŵr so they can be heard all over the city.
