The road has not been easy for “Dance Mom’s” star Abby Lee Miller. After completing her prison sentence last year, the famed dance instructor was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But if anything, Abby has proven she is a fighter and is not ready to hang up the dance shoes. The new season of Dance Moms follows Abby as she rebuilds her dance company while battling the after-effects of cancer that has left her confined to a wheelchair. Abby is ready to get back to her life and do what she loves most…teaching students to dance! With the goal of putting her life, health and dance studio back together, Abby returns to where it all began - the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh.
This is kind of unrelated but honestly Nia was the most loyal to Abby, and Abby gave her 5% back.

I was watching Bring it the other dance show on lifetime! With Miss D school comes first than dance!!!!! When her student has to miss practice she makes it work and works around the schedule so that the girls get their schooling and dance too!

@Khadija Faisal It's the amount of time served. I can't remember the exact number of days, but I think if you're there for less than 90 days it's jail and if it's more than 90 days it's prison.
Edit: A criminal lawyer explained this difference to my class in high school but it's been a couple years so I don't know if that's exactly right. I just know it has to do with sentence length.

CJ major here. It also depends on the type of crime. Jail is for misdemeanors. Prison is for heavier crimes.
Jail is where you go until sentencing, prison is where you live out your sentence

apparently mellisa was the one that helped her smuggle the money and testified against her for her own freedom but I’m not sure how true this is

Jess, Jojo, Kira and Kalani only stayed with the ALDC for the tv coverage. Kalani and Jojo would have gotten better opportunities anywhere, but they got so much exposure on this show.
