I have this variant much prefer it to the more popular all grey milenese version i think this looks more vintage...A must for any casio collector specially vintage range.Great breakdown review
This is a FANTASTIC watch. Super light, super comfortable, and super reliable. The ONLY problem I have is the horrible watch band. The clasp bulges out too much and easily gets snagged on just about anything. TERRIBLE clasp!! You can easily remedy this by swapping it out with an 18mm expandable Bandini adjustable watch band that comes in a bunch of styles and colors for about $20.00. That's the only way to go in my opinion.
I have one and when looking directly at the screen the numbers are faded and a bit out of focus. If you rotate the screen away from you at the top it becomes crisp and black. Is this normal? Has anyone else noticed it?
Hi, yes I've noticed this too and it also happens on my A168. I find it very annoying as I look directly at the watch, not at an angle. I read on one of the watch forums that this is a design choice of Casio as they think most people look at the watch from an angle. My older Casios don't have this issue.
Good video, just speak up a little bit while reviewing, otherwise it sounds like you're tired. 😅 Thanks for the review anyways. I'm torn between this one and the grey one (on a milanese strap)! Another thing is that the E (European) version seem to have two variants of the crystal (some sites say it's acrylic, others say it's mineral, and I don't want the acrylic version, ofc). Maybe it was Casio's mistake or some early batches with the acrylic, too bad I won't know that before buying. Anyway, great watch, I have the digital W59 and a few Gs, but I want to add something more flashy to my set.
I have the same problem, did you find out if there's any acrylic versions? I want the mineral glass version, but I live in eu and I'm not sure if they only sell Acrylic here or if it's a mistake on the Casio site.
@@joakimdam9723 I got the European version in a yellow/white vintage Casio paper box, wore it a few times this summer. So far the crystal doesn't have any scratches, but I didn't really bang the watch against anything nor did I wear it too much. The funny thing is that I'm in Russia and due to the sanctions we no longer have European Casios here, only the Asian versions, so now it would be easy for me to get the other one. But I say get the EU version and don't worry, if you don't want to wear it like a G-Shock. Apparently if you bang it a lot the case will get scratched easily, no matter which version you have. The watch is very slim, so that helps too. Peace!
@@zibel5007 thanks for the help. So you know 100% that the eu versions have acrylic glass and not mineral? I'm sad that eu sanctions hurt normal Russians like you, hope it's not too much of trouble in every day life.
@joakimdam9723 I'm not saying it's acrylic, actually I think it's more likely to be a mineral crystal in the EU version as well. Mine doesn't have scratches on the crystal so far, like I said, but I don't want to try scratching it to find out. 😅 It's a very thin crystal, because the watch itself is slim too, so it's hard to tell. Actually I think it's the thinnest Casio I've ever seen, which is also a good reason to get one. Actually haha the sanctions only hurt us regular people that want this awful conflict to end ASAP and didn't want it in the first place, and rich people have their ways to keep living their lives without much changes, but that's a whole different story. Thanks for your words, be well and enjoy your Casio if you get one, it is a fun little piece.
Just got me a Casio W217HM-7BVEF, takes getting used to the black, but I love it, only bad, as usually the strap was too short, have it on the last hole.. Wrist is 9 inch, rather average for Dutch.. Had to buy a lot of 29 cm NATOs ...Militairy time???? My watch is on normal adult 24h setting, never on the child setting with the confusing am/pm time, it is a digital watch, why go digital if you want to start counting again at noon...lol The very purpose of digital is precision folks..
