The shots all need to be in the A zones of the target, which is within the ring marked with a 7. It is not standard practice, but my instructor was a former sheriff's deputy, and therefore had us practice speed and tactical reloads. It is highly advisable that you get to know your firearm well, and take it to the range on your own to get comfortable with it beforehand so you're better prepared for the qualifications. You will need a holster for your weapon. It is also highly advisable to have a hard holster, with active retention because you never want to carry your firearm on duty in a passive retention holster. The gentleman in the video mentioned it being able to leave your post with the firearm on your person, and although this is absolutely the letter of the law, the spirit of the law is not the same. You can also take your firearm with you if you have an on duty lunch break. Where I live in CA, Law Enforcement pay little attention to you if you're in public and armed when in uniform. Even if you're picking up groceries after work. Talk with your local instructors and ask them about the armed guard climate in your area. It is also often not mentioned, but it is beyond advisable to ensure you have 1 magazine in the firearm and 2 spare magazines on your person. That's 3 magazines total. There is no stipulation saying you can't carry more, but 2 spares is the minimum recommended. When submitting your application, always do it online if you are able. In Washington State, you absolutely can go about your business before and after work armed. We're an open carry state. You need to work on your stance. You should feel isometric force in your hands with your gun. Push and pull at the same time. Keep your dominate arm straight, rotate your shoulder, drop your opposite elbow. Half step back. Congratulations, you're in the weaver stance.

You can obtain a California State exposed permit for security as early as age 18. However, you cannot own a gun until you are 21. How is this worked around by companies? Private patrol operators are able to register firearms to their company and issue them to officers.

I own a security company in, California and Securiry companies with armed contracts should have at least minimum of, 5 to 7 million dollar liability policy. Majority of shootings, even justified ones, can cost 3 to 5 million in defense costs and other costs for defending the officer and company. Plus, even in justified shootings, the family of the person killed and or injured will sue still and usually gets awarded money, around 500k to 1 million. So, having 5 to 7 million in liability insurance coverage is definitely worth it. It honestly doesn't cost a ton more in monthly premiums for the 5 to 7 million coverage. I mean, a company with 15 employees with a 1 million dollar coverage is only around, 300 to 350 a month. 2 million is only like, 40 to 70 bucks more each month. 7 million can cost around, 1k to 1.5k a month but is definitely worth it. Most security companies do not have 7 plus million dollars laying around in savings for a shooting defense and lawsuits. While still having funds to continue to operate the business.
I get some really good information I pretty much moved away from California to North Carolina with the laws a little bit different in favor of security companies

The closest you're going to get to SWAT team in the security industry would be as an executive protection role they do exist but difficult to get jobs in that industry however if you can land that job you'll find yourself guarding Bill Gates and making a lot of money as far as the state ID versus driver's license a state ID should be sufficient but ultimately people and companies want you to be able to drive for patrolling reasons and also just to get to the job site good luck man

It really depends on the state I’m in az and you can get your armed guard card out here at 18. Large corporate businesses like allied universal loomis etc make it 21 but some smaller security companies will hire you at 18

Through an act of legislation, security guards in New Jersey were renamed security officers.
I think that's a great idea as it is a more respectful title to men and women that put their life on the line every day
@@defcon3security782, there's a bill in New Jersey they are pushing to make it law. It would upgrade simple assault to aggravated assault against a security officer in the performance of the Officer's duties while in uniform or because of the officer's status as a security officer. The other part of the bill it would be a crime of the second or third degree to disarm a armed security officer.

Do you have to work as unarmed guard before , you can become armed guard
Hello Gareth and thanks for your question.. no you don't have to work unarmed however it takes a while to get your permit sometimes up to six months so in the meantime you can work unarmed until you're armed permit comes in and then you can start being armed
For Cali, can I do the firearm permit just with the 8 hour BSIS guard or do they require me to finish all 40 hours before I can do the firearm permit?
Since they take Firearms so seriously you probably have to do the entire 40 hours
Where do I go in Macomb Michigan for training
I work at active and un active post
where in CA are you located? do you recommend training centers?
I don’t trust doing online classes. Where or what physical location can I go in and take the class to get my guard card.
Can I ask why you don't trust the online classes? Right now with covet a lot of places are only offering online what city are you in I could probably find something near you

So when you say that they look out for those who are loners, are they looking for those who are willfully introverts and don't have any issues at all?
That's the thing nobody can really say for sure more the reason I don't like those tests
Can I check the BSIS website from time to time to see if the armed status is there

If, you have your license to carry would it really matter? If you went to a gas station after work.
If you had your license to carry you would have to switch your carry from exposed to concealed.... But if you are an armed guard and you have an exposedaccording to the BSIS website you cannot make pit stops go to restaurants you name it I mean when you think about itout of a million guards that carry could you imagine if they were on the way to work or on the way back and I stopped at the gas station it's just a matter of time before one or two of them gets into an altercation and ends up shooting somebody and then the next question will be why did you have a gun on you and they're like well I was driving home but I ran out of gas the argument would be well why didn't you have enough gas in the first place you should have thought about thatno I'm not saying this is right or wrong I'm just saying that that's how the law is currently and let me tell you brother I get confused as a cop all the time I've had people come up to me when I did make these pit stops because I had no choice and I say officer can you help me out really quick

Common law, says you can buy any gun at any reasonable age and consciousness.
You can obtain a California State exposed permit for security as early as age 18. However, you cannot own a gun until you are 21. How is this worked around by companies? Private patrol operators are able to register firearms to their company and issue them to officers.

Is there a minimum experience of unarmed security before you try to get armed..I'm about to submit my application soon of unarmed security
I’m 5’8 and 18 you think I could? Because I’m believing myself that I can :)
It doesn't matter how big or small you are it matters how you can hold yourself remember when you have a firearm you are bigger than any guy out there but if you act like an idiot you are smaller than them the only limitation is at 18 years old I'm not sure if you can carry a firearm a handgun I should say depends on what state you're in
I am also 5’8 size really doesn’t matter it’s a about your attitude
In ky you can become an armed guard at 18 without a ccw guard card or training
Just took it 230 questions.. I passed I passed the classroom training I go to the range tomorrow when I pass what’s next. The school told me to bring a money order I guess for the Doj or BSIS and to bring my birth certificate.. so what’s next
14 hours. In VA it’s 50 hours
Wow.. sounds like a good idea actually
Has the 14 hour coarse changed, to have qualifications im doing a 40 class to be certified or obtain a certificate to be a armed guard.
Pretty much always just logical stuff very little changed
