- I love California. I spent my entire life there, up until a year ago that is. My wife and 3 kids left the state for some very specific - and very obvious reasons - but if you’re curious about what those reasons were in the end, this video is for you.

Our channel is amazing. It's true because I wrote this statement, and I also make the videos. This channel is all about ditching the comforts of... practically everything, and instead becoming the very best you can be, in every way.
I don't blame people for leaving, but the mass exodus from California has absolutely demolished my state's housing market.
When I first moved to Houston as a teen, I was appalled how much trash and crud was out there. But after visiting California for months, it PALES in comparison to the filth of the "pretty" towns in Cali. Absolutely appalling...

It's not green in California. Everything is shades of tan unless it's artificially watered.
It was not an easy decision to leave California, and the transition to life in the Deep South has not been easy. I love the South, and all it offers, but culture shock is real.
My family and I moved to Kentucky from California 19 years ago for many of the reasons you mentioned in this video and we've never looked back. Looking forward to part 2.
Will visit Cali in the future. Ginger has a very close friend, who was also her boss for a few years and lives in Newport Beach. Also, one of my friends took a U.S. Depart. of Ag job near Sacramento, and we'll visit him and his wife. So, don't hate Cali, but I know that I'm a confirmed eastern time zone kind of guy. Don't mind visiting the pacific time zone, but I could never live there. A comparison of Cali and Tennessee reminds me of a regular line delivered by Johnny Slash in the short-lived 1980s show "Square Pegs," which was "That's a totally different head, totally." It's equally true from either perspective. 🙂 Glad you all are in Tennessee, Jason. The state is the richer for it.

Yes, been to Cali a time or two. Ginger worked for a Newport Beach company for 5 years. I joined her a time or two. Also were in the San Fran area a time or two. Ginger has relatives there. She also had grandparents who lived in San Diego. So, a few times. Nothing against it. Just don't care for CARB and its effect on the state. Like Tennessee but I am a native, a native east Tennessean, that is.

I have lived in California all my life. I've been to San Francisco, Sac town, LA, San Diego. I live in a more rural part away from the big city. I don't like it here. The people (at least near me) are cool, the governing class is bad. In fact it's so bad that I despise the entire state because of it. They lie and talk all about how great they want to make the state as the grind it to dust and villainize me and my people. California is lost and I think the only hope is for it to burn to the ground so that others may start over. I am legit bummed my great-grandfather moved to this state. He doomed his children's children.

I was stationed at George AFB in Victorville 30 years ago. You are spot on about California. Once you leave the major cities people are quite conservative. There are alot of nice places there. We could go to the beach, mountains or desert in the same day. Sucks the lib government stains it.
