Thanks for making this video. I have alot of brush, weeds and very, very small trees growing in my backyard. I don't have a weed eater and was considering buying this one. I thought using the string might be ok, but now that I've seen the brush cutter in action (with instructions on how to install it properly), I'm sold. I will be buying this piece of equipment soon. Thanks again for your effort in this video. You have made the difference for me.
I inherited my grandfathers old FS90R. Nice machine when it ran right. Valves would never stay adjusted, and the carb was super picky to tune. Which also wouldn't hold adjustment. Had 2 carbs both were the same way. Sold it and bought and Echo SRM266 lol. That FS90R was a low hour machine too.
I've had an FS91r for a few years now. The brush blade is phenomenal for the sweetgum and winged elm saplings. Plenty of power, even enough to break through a tangle of wisteria vines. Husqvarna makes a good mix oiled four-stroke machine as well, but I gotta give it to Stihl. Their "homeowner"/"box store" equipment is alright, but their pro models set the standard.
Thank you for the video, and the warnings in yellow. People, PLEASE use this as an example on how not to use the trimmer with brush blade. That could go well 100x...but you don't want to be around for 101.
Looks like a fine rig but the older ones would go through cam gears, valves, push rods and magnetos like there was no tomorrow. My pal at the saw shop fixed a BUNCH like that but I hope they got over it. My 1st big one was a Stihl with the handlebars and I put a 12 inch carbide table saw blade on it and it was the most dangerous thing I ever ran but would cut anything up to 4 or 5 inches before you could BLINK! Wound it up and hit it backhanded and it was DONE! 15 minutes in an ivy thicket and pile brush for an hour. I've got an Echo convertible now with all the different heads for it and before I went to non-ethanol gas I had to fight that carb but not now! And you can tell a 4-mix rig as far as you can hear it. I like my 85 blower and MS 440 Mag saw too but Sweetie has an Echo blower and a Weedeater weedeater So there you go. And we have a multi-flora rose with NO stickers. Only one I've ever seen. So keep on grinding and GOOD video. Pick me one! Or maybe Pick one for me!
Just bought one today. I got the next blade up and it vibrates so bad I can’t use it. It is the round blade also. Any tips on why it’s shaking so bad? Thanks
I like taking the weed guard off myself , i find you can get more done alot quicker . however my local dealer told me not to do so because it will void the warranty. I got a 4 year warranty with my stihl , so I guess it will come off when the warranty runs out
@@grantsdad177 When I got my new 261 my pal at the saw shop put Tru-fuel in it and it has synthetic and doubled the warranty but that's a commercial saw instead of homeowners. I quit running silver bottle Stihl synthetic because it slobbered in a weedeater so much. Back to regular orange bottle.
I got a Stihl 2 Stroke Trimmer years ago, but was too cheap on the Model Selection. Mine won’t take a blade. Always Starts on the First or Second pull. I only use Premium Gas in it and make sure I run it out of gas. Bought a Stihl Chainsaw, I hate the thing, floods easily, hard to figure out how much choke to use. I get so frustrated trying to start the thing. Had a super cheap Poulen, was easy to start, till my wife loaned it to her Dad.
meh, i got myself a multitool the same thing, by gardenline, for just 100$ and is much better than the stihl. My friend next door has a stihl and it didn't seem good. The gardenline is 2 stroke, his is 4ycle like yours.
@@dimitar4y I don’t know a single professional who buys their equipment from a grocery store lmao there is just no way you can produce a well refined machine for $100 there is probably more than $100 in parts alone on a stihl or any other pro grade trimmer

That's a pretty nice trimmer, I have a Stihl BR600 backpack blower which also has a 4 mix engine, very powerful blower too, 240MPH air speed.

The blade isn't balanced. Take the blade off, make sure it's sitting properly on that ridge. Also get the proper metal Blade guard for the wood blade.

I use a Husqvarna 4 stroke and have not had any problems but I always use alcohol free gas in it.

My 440 is the same way about starting and I had a Super 45 till my neighbor killed it. And it has those wretched flip up fillers. Ugg.
