We have a Golden Globe Race 2022 with 32 to 36ft full keel production yachts without chart plotters, GPS, radar, or electronic navigation, just weather fax, charts and sextants. And a non-assisted solo-race to shorten the wait .... j arguably, even a bit more difficult. But yes, can't wait for 2024, too. The Ocean Race 2022 will give us a good peak at the first next gen Imocas.
Best sailing solo event maybe but the best overall sporting event has to be the annual Isle of Man TT races. Since 1911 the race has claimed the lives of 235 riders.
@@ulyssesjefferson8589 People will never agree about this! For some the greatest sporting event would be the Olympics, for some the World Cup, for some Wimbledon and so on. Personally I don't think a large number of people killed is anything to be proud of. Some used to feel that was part of Formula 1 but that's been largely eliminated, thank goodness. I suppose it all comes down to what one thinks is important
@@VidarrKerr For years now it is the French who have repeatedly won the Vendee. While Vikings certainly sailed in a very challenging environment nothing compares to the Vendee. As an Australian we sail in the Tasman sea but our premier sailing event the Sydney Hobart doesn't remotely compare to the Vendee. Nothing else does.
Stunning pictures! I know it is tough but all sailors should also be proud to be part of this magnificent spectacle. I am a bit jealous here in my office !
Foil sailboats looks like rodeo bull riding. A fast wild ride. Not IF, but when you land hard. Those boats were a handful rounding the capes without foils. Cheers to the brave sailors who push the limits. YOU ARE AWESOME!
Christ...it's like aeronautics rather than sailing....just insane. The stamina required to mainatin this level of control for 3 months....totally blows my mind. Obviously the foils aren't always being utilised but hell, I'm not sure there is a comparison anywhere on the planet. Maximum credit to our French cousins for manifesting this competition .....

I am watching Vendee Blobe because of Great Thunberg. XD Just LOVE how extreme these boats are: the engineering, the capabilities, the sailing. Then the bravery and skill of the captains. And on top of that it looks just super stylish. Just AWESOME!!!
The preparation is not only physical but mental too. And something you never feel on a video, is the noise. That's why they need a headset to rest sometime.
Thank you for this great clip. The race was fantastic! What an odyssey! Bravo to Samantha and Isabelle for completing their journey "hors course"!
Can't imagine sailing solo around the world let alone racing. Great respect!
you forgot non-stop, these guys are crazy
Truly the most difficult and demanding sport in the world. Great collection of footage and edits...2024 seems a bit closer now,Thank You

No politics, no kneeling, no BS, just pure awesomeness. Vendee Globe and VOR are my 2 favorite races, with Sydney Hobart in a close 3rd.
The greatest sporting event on earth!
Yes, and almost no one knows it's happening. Maybe the world's media should wake up. If that wouldn't be too much trouble
Vikings are the best sailors on earth!

Extraordinaire, les images sont magnifique, impressionnante. Merci 🤩
Absolutely fantastic- the filming, the music and the stars- these stellar works of art and how these skippers fly them👍🏽

Magnifiques images , merci; ça fait rêver

The problem is it's a race. If you aren't using it, are you certain your competitor isn't? Going to be craz.
Absolutely superb! More please......
Way cooler than Golf
😆👍
Just amazing, built to sail. According to the motto bigger, faster and further. What else do you have to say? Right NOTHING!! Thx for this sport
WTF?!
Why would anyone give this a “thumbs down”?
THIS is bad-ass!! I’ve watched it like, 6x!!
Damn Golfers 🏌️♂️ gave it a thumbs down.
It's like watching an engine redlining and waiting for it to explode!
for 80 days straight
Can't ever get my head round this. The insanity, the extremity, the FEAT.

Have you read the stories about some of these people? A very interesting bunch.
Wow, these things are haulin ass in some horrible water. A whale or a submerged container would fuck up your day in a heartbeat!
DES CRACKS. INCROYABLE
The definition of sailing.Period!!
Thaaaats "hardcore" sailing!! awesome!
Absolutely beautiful 👍👍👍

Have a beautiful day 🍀🌈🌻🌿 thank you for sharing this very fabulous video 🌈🌿🌈🏁
Thank you 🍀🌊🍀
Looks like a hell of a ride

When youre surfing like that with a storm jib and double or tripple reef, you know thats hairy
Fantastico!!
Well done on launching and catching your drones at what looks like break-neck speeds?
WOW just WOW!!
Omg, that is crazy 🤩
magnifique image, quel courage!
Heyy Krzysztof, this video looks amazing! Just curious what did you use to film this? Did you venture into drones or use other camera setups?
Luff up a bit there's a good chap...haha, amazing.
With all this Tech, why don't they get the main sail to articulate like a windsurf sail?
I am deeply saddened that Alex Thompson will not compete in the next Vendee time waits for no one !
That's insane.
...Heroes of humanity !!!
Thank goodness humans do this.
Unbelievable!!!
Amazing⚓️🚀
Corum - demasted, Linked Out - foil cut, PRB - sinked, Charal - forced to restart, Initiatives - crashed
HUGO BOSS also damaged and out of regatta
Awesome!
can we watch anything without getting disturb by advertising ?
Amazing
Ihr seid alles Helden
Époustouflant !
Only crewed by one person? Omg...
What is the name of the song used for the video?
It seems the Charal is the best flyer. 😳
Meravigliose!
Wow, how those boats do go. I would be keepinga very tight ******* right about now. Thanks for sending them along.
Dad
Superhuman👍👍👍
For being up on foils it sure is a WET ride!
Chapeau....
Que vértigo!

I'm a little bit in love...
When will one of these yachts enter the Sydney to Hobart yacht race?
That would be awesome
They are going to allow 2 person crews in future so we hope it will happen.
Bravo! Bravo!!!
Insane....!
The foil looks like a rough ride in a swell
Cool!!!!!
purè quel coup d'adrenaline pure que ça t'envoie une douche d'ocean glacè !
Big balls!
Which music is it?
Vendee Globe: One man against the strongest natural force on earth... that is truly epic heroism...))))))))))))))))))
a bunch of women completed as well.
Wow... all I can say and I sail too.
Great pieces of music : Two Steps From Hell / FOR THE WIN
La traducción de la regata?
How many turtles and fish were decapitated by those foils while in around the world race? OMG
To every single person that makes these boats possible I say wholly shit and a big Thank you!
Nice.
I can't imagine going that fast and hard for months on end, how do they even sleep?!
Kolin Boorom i wonder the same dude
The preparation is not only physical but mental too. And something you never feel on a video, is the noise. That's why they need a headset to rest sometime.
15 minutes at a time with noise cancelling headphones. I can't sleep on my boat underway even with a full crew onboard.
bellissimi!
Die Formel 1 der Segler
ok the boat gives you the adrenaline fuck gozdilla you are the man:)
How fast are they going??
More than 20 knots
At top speed these new IMOCA might go above 35 knots
@@PhilippeMarchand-xw1zp That's hard to imagine.
@@Abebe345 For instance the 7th of Nov 2018 Hugo Boss posted on it's facebook account that it reached 38.5 knots.
Let's see....take a giant sailing surfboard, add hydrofoils, and fight your way through the storms of the Southern Ocean with it. What's not to love?!
Dear Lord your sea is so big and my ship is so small .
Why cut every 3 seconds, for Christ sake? Such beautiful shots and before one looks closer there is already a cut. Terrible
Yes, it wouldn't hurt to make the cuts much longer. I could happily watch one of these beautiful boats flying for ages
Repeat! Repeat! Repeat!
😍🇩🇪⛵🍀
Sailing one of these for 30 minutes would be difficult and completely exhausting. Doing that for over 80 days... Only super humans need apply.
wow
Que linda imagem
