The fact that you have a Friend that sells the CAT. That makes a huge difference. My friend RENT a size like that and a Larger size CAT for stump removal on his Tree farm. He had a Leak on the weekend. CAT bent over backwards to get a service truck to his site. I got to run the big one( can't remember the number) sorry. But it took those stumps out with one pass. We made burn Piles alone the tree stump line. Like you say about productivity. CAT got the job done.
You mentioned in your video that you could use buckets from a 420 backhoe. The 310 has 60mm pins. The 420 has one 45mm and one 50mm. Will the Cat pin grabber attach to those pins without any slop? Thanks for the info.
I watched your videos several times when trying to decide what machine to get. Kind of decided on a CAT-309 so as to run a mulcher. Then, I couldn't get a 309 set up like I wanted without ordering one, but I could get a 310. Bought the 310 and sure am glad I did! No flow issues running a brush cutter or mulcher and the extra reach is nice to have. People are apprehensive of the Electronic controls, but I have to say it makes the machine so easy to use & configure, it's well worth it. Great video!
Bad ass! So happy to hear that! Ya the 310 for not having a secondary pump is still extremely capable for high flow use it’s an incredible machine, you’ll be happy to if you ran a 309 with the same head and the 310 the swing power is unmatched. Same here I love the electric pilot controls, you can still feel what you’re doing though the machine. Happy you enjoyed the video happy to have helped settle you mind in your next machine 👊🏼
The best video of the new cat 310 that I have seen so far, thank you very much for the video, looking forward to more content on the cat 310, I build with stone and this is one of the machines I have in mind to buy, I subscribe to your channel, greetings from Barcelona.
Glad to hear it! I’ve slowed down on videos big time due to work but I’ll hopefully get more out when I have the time, I’m sitting at 2200 hours she keeps getting the job done
That's a lot of electrical connections controlling the machine. When the warranty is off the machine and CAT repair shop repair rate at $185.00 per hour; the repair bills can break an owner operator. So far I have been able to source good used machines with out the complex electronics on them. Very good video on the CAT 210 thank you.
Pick your poison is all it’s come to, machine been doing amazing almost at 1800 hours warranty is 4k hours I’m sure with in that time frame I’ll have another excavator. I’m not a fan of electrical but it’s proving itself and capable. Been an incredible machine non stop.
I have a Cat 309 on order to replace an KX080, it’s coming with the V.A.B option. We run an Mulcher head and a rotating grapple saw for cutting trees and it’s just too demanding for the Kubota. Good video showing options on the cat excavators 👍
Nice 310! I bought a 310 a year ago and love mine. I also have a next gen 306. Great machines! Thing I have noticed is the the next gen 306 is almost like the older 308s in stick length and power. Anyway these new machines are great and have lots of power for their size even! Keep enjoying!
I'm in the market for a 20k machine myself and have had a 308 and a 307.5 on demo for a couple weeks out in New England. Just a side note....ive been operating since I was a kid and was disappointed in some of the breakout of the 308 and lack of stability as I want the swing boom for the work I do. If you push the throttle dial down it will shut off the eco mode and give it some more power....which actually made a difference to me. Unfortunately I didn't know this til the last day of my demo! Ps. I'm going with the 309 to have the swing boom and the larger bottom you have.
You’ll love a 309 over the 308 definitely a good upgrade for hydro power and larger blade and tracks on the 309. And definitely if you need that swivel boom 309 will be your pick to make life easier

Please respond looking for details. I have not operated Steel tracks with rubber pads on blacktop or concrete driveways, will you elaborate the pros and cons over rubber tracks? I really want the steel and rubber to produce the extra weight down low but I am going to definitely be operating on blacktops and concrete probably 50/50 versus being just on top of dirt. The salesman said I'm better off with rubber tracks because steel with pads can still cause damage to blacktop and concrete but I would rather take an operator's word for it than his. Also throw some advice in there about the noise difference because I know when I operate only steel tracks it's ridiculously squeaky and very noisy over rubber. Thanks for your info!
Soooo I’ll start off with rubber pads and rubber tracks all mark the same one doesn’t do more damage than the other u less your going over curbs the steel tracks will damage for sure. Yes steel make a bit more noise while tracking just the clanking of the chain however with steel it’s much cheaper to replace pads over a whole new rubber track. However the rubber track has more surface area and make its easier to steer on concrete or asphalt the pads will grip more and does bind up with sharp turns.

How do you like the thumb?
Always have a thumb 👌🏼👌🏼

do you need a cdl to tow it?
No, and any Ford ranger or a 1500 will tow it just fine 👌🏼
