That was fantastic. I'm always tickled when I find an old truck quietly rusting away. My favorite yard art.

I need an Old Mack to restore and drive in parades and what not, haul the occasional house.

That music was great. Poignant, yet hopeful and uplifting. Gives me the same nostalgic, sentimental, slightly bittersweet feeling as seeing these noble old workers quietly fading away. I'm always glad that they still exist, rather than being scrapped.

17:00 to 20:00 I've driven this truck and ridden in it many times. It might look like it, but it's not retired yet. It has a screaming Jimmy two stroke Diesel so it will probably never die.

Some look at peace and some look sad. Trucks have feelings too

At 1:49 you have a photo of a very rare Military Issue 1941 G.M.C. AFKWX 4X4. It was fitted with several options, two were field contact maintenance body another had a LeRoy compressor body with pneumatic tools for road and bridge maintenance. I would love to have this old girl in its' current condition. We will never see automotive character like this again.
Great Videos, thanks for taking the time to make them.

Thanks for the history lesson, I had no idea this old girl was so rare. The videos are kind of a hobby now that I'm in the semi retired phase of my trucking career. I try to keep them interesting. Thanks again.

Well, I was a truck Mechanic for over 40 years, I've rebuilt the engines like were used in these old warriors, dozens if not hundreds of them. Not the Super Whites, Or the Reo Gold Comets, probably the rest of them. Some were fine machines, others, not so much. Now, they're out to pasture, like me. Rust in peace!

@@donellmuniz590 I had a 4 1/2" brain tumor removed and something as simple as spelling a word wrong is the last thing on my mind as its really unimportant to me, I'm just happy to be on the right side of the grass. Bandit

Dire Straits for sure. Titled Local Hero/Wild Theme, it seemed appropriate for the subject at hand. Glad you enjoyed and keep that old W150 truckin'

What is the unusual truck at 3.12, - can anybody help.? Not being from the US I recognised most from my interest in US trucks but that one had me beaten.

That's the back end of an early Ford tandem axle unit. Not a common rig at the time, but the cab would be the same as any other Ford truck of that vintage. Late 30s or early 40s. By the way, I'm a Canadian boy !

Thanks. Had them in the UK in the '30's, but they were not only on Fords a lot of firms bought them to get over a legal length/weight limit law we had at the time. The Fords were all 2-axle conversions by another firm but some lorry makers offered them as a 'standard' model.

Not necessarily. They had the Teamsters behind em back then. They made a good living and didn't have to work 70 hours a week. My dad was one in the 60s and 70s.
