Minolta XG M problem solved

if you own minolta xg-m and you get stucked film winder or cruck or shutter issue then first thing to to is to replace battery and if new batteries dont solve problem then use batteries from working other minolta camera. this cameras are very solid made and can live forever if take proper care of. i was ready to open camera and look inside and do some repair job but simple battery replacement (batteries that really works on other minolta camera) all was good again. so i saved my own time and your bandwidth connection time. thanks for watching and wish you good light for your film.

Usually the batteries solve the problem, if that doesn't there should be a capacitor inside most minolta cameras that can go bad.

Less than 1/4 of the time will it be the batteries, 99.9 percent of the time it will be bad capacitors so don't waste your time checking the batteries.

I just bought a Minolta XG SE and ran into this problem. I'm not able to get the batteries right now. So I tried with the power winder that came with it and it uses simple AAs and it still didn't work.
I hope it's just a simple problem of me not having the right batteries. It's will kept and mint

Hey, I have a Minolta X-GM the light meter still works, however the advance lever is stuck and the shutter button does nothing. Do you think it's the Capacitor?

if advancing not working it may be some broken tooth inside. if meter works and shows smth

You have to open it and spin the thing and it will click then the camera makes a sound and it works

what you mean with too loose? it works and dances? maybe one or two tooth in wheel inside broken.

Replace capacitors, they are leaky in all Minolta XG series before they destroy the pcb's.

Depleted batteries are a "problem" now? They run out, you change them, no problem.
