Total immunity has much deeper implications. It allows the president to unilaterally impose new laws regardless of the Senate or House of Representatives. Laws like no one ever convicted or indicted of a crime can run for any government position. Or remove otherwise unremovable judges from the Supreme Court. Or declare that a presidency term is now 12 years instead of 4 or make it lifelong. It means he can do anything without anyone ever being able to stop him.
I think that the only person who votes in his favor is Thomas who should be recusing himself b/c of his wife Ginni who's been implicated in some insurrectonist/election denying plots as shown by her communications with MarK Meadows. Thomas benefits from delaying the decision b/c his wife does.

Let those judges and lawyers walk past rows of armed troops every day as they enter and leave the building. Let them think long and hard about what could happen if they rule that presidents are above the law.

As been stated the entire year. Trump isn't claiming to be innocent. He's claiming he shouldn't have consequence.

As for the Supreme Court, have you actually listened to the arguments that were being made?? And have you not heard that judges are actually seeming like they may grant a partial immunity as they do “see some reason as to why a president may need such protections”. Ethics rules or no, EVERY federal employee has to report "gifts." It's a Federal law! Who cares what rules THEY WISH applied to them, there is a LAW that applies!
As far as immunity goes, the Court will grant it if and when Donald wins! They will delay long enough to make sure they don't accidentally give it to a Democrat President. If they give Donny immunity, and there is ever another Presidential election, they will find their own decision unconstitutional.

They are gonna give trump everything he needs. Maybe not everything he wants, but far more than any respectable court can give. You can see it when they talk about it, especially Alito and Thomas. They've bought into this feeling that trump is being unfairly targeted and so are they. And they're going to rule on that as if it were a legal argument rather than a bad joke.

Trump is the type of person that, if he should be granted immunity NOW, would then go back to previous cases where he was found guilty (cough) E Jean Caroll (cough COUGH) and demand a new verdict.
You could remove the republican party as an institution, make a law that all current republicans can not run for any form of gov. Etc etc etc. But in reality, SCOTUS will wait, if trump is elected they will make a ruling after he is prez. If trump loses, then they will wait until a republican prez takes office, then they will rule. They can delay a ruling for as long as the want, Thier rules....

THE ACCOUNTABLIITY QUESTION
The question has been asked "When is the US justice system actually going to hold Trump responsible for something?"
To answer that question is both easy and hard, here let me explain:
The hard answer: When Donald John Trump threw his hat in the ring to run for President in 2014 no one thought he had a chance in hell to win and to be honest he did not win the popular vote, he lost by a 1000 miles. He was placed in the oval office by the electoral college by Republicans making back door deals to get him there. Hillary Clinton should have been the 45th President and not Trump.
Now that that is out of the way, let discuss why Trump is not facing the same justice as you or I because of the hold Trump has over Republicans and they have no clue how to reel in the MONSTER they created. They are so damn scared of the sniveling cry baby and what his followers will do to him that they feel it is better to appease him at every turn.
You might say I am being hyperbolic and a Trump hater, but the fact is if you or I did anything remotely as illegal as Trump we would be in jail for life or even killed or maybe ran out of the country by some fanatic. This is not being hyperbolic it is being realistic.
The republican Party created this monster and the situation we find ourselves and this Nation in today and until Trump is found guilty in one of the 4 cases against him qwe will never recover. Because Trump has the courts in his pockets, well at least the Federal courts. The state courts are our best chance for Trump to be found guilty, but even those are not a slam dunk because he will appeal any conviction.
Those appeals can take a long time to resolve themselves. We are talking years before he has exhausted all of his appeals and by then he could be dead and not have to serve one day in prison, thus beating the system. He knows this as does his lawyers.
So to really answer the question "When is the US justice system When is the US justice system actually going to hold Trump responsible for something?"
The easy and short answer is NO. We need to fix the justice system before it creates another monster worse than Trump. Here are some ideas that could fix the broken justice system;
There should be an AGE or TERM limit. Let us look at a TERM LIMIT: The term limit for a Federal Judge/Justice should be 16 years that means through 3 Presidential terms or they could go for 20 years or 4 Presidential terms. This would make it so there are no Lifetime appointments to the bench.
House of Representatives; 6 terms since the elections are held every two years.
Senate; Senators are elected to six-year terms, and every two years the members of one class-approximately one-third of the senators-face election or reelection. Thus they could serve 3 terms.
Now let us look at AGE LIMIT: The age limit for a Federal Judge/Justice should be no more than 65 this would give them time to enjoy their golden years. 65 should be the age limit for every elected federal office and for the same reason.
Now I doubt anything that was mentioned will come to pass since no one is willing to pass such measures that will fix the broken Political or Justice systems because no one really cares about the people these broken systems hurt the most, so we will keep living under the broken systems.
