Beautiful artwork, especially the roses! Thank you for always creating artwork with your unboxing, there are too many unboxing videos without seeing the supplies in actual use 😊
Thank you! I like to try and get at least one artwork done with new supplies - that usually tells very quickly whether or not they're any good! (Swatches never behave the same for some reason).
Beautiful artwork, Becky! Really fun seeing these pencils in action. I would probably remove them from the box and put them in a zipper case. I'm glad they seemed to be such high quality!
I'm not yet ready to give up the pretty box, but I do have some of those zipper cases so if it becomes too bothersome I'll move them into one of those. 🙂
I wonder if they changed the formula. Mine were very soft and blendable. They felt more like prismacolor but less opaque. They are coming out with 120 this month. It will be interesting to see how they package them and how they feel. Nice rooster!
Oh that's interesting, I really felt like they were more like Polychromos but they're still easy to blend and very smooth. I really like them! I have heard there's a bigger set coming out; the more colours the better, haha! ❤️
Superb drawings! They remind me a bit of Koh-i-Noor Polycolor (I have them). Or at least that is the vibe I am getting from the video. And the box looks just gorgeous 😍
Becky, your pictures are gorgeous. I don't have these pencils, but they looked like they worked well in both of your pictures. If they behave similarly to Polychromos, that would definitely be a plus!
I love roosters😂 I just had to get that out of the way first. Regarding the pencils, I definitely like how they come compact and sturdy in their box. I can really see why it was designed that way when comparing to other pencil tins and how hard it is to transport them (aside from caran dache but the boxes are wide also). Lots of bright colors so I’d probably end up using for coloring a lot since I’m a neutral fan! But these are actually really nice and packaged with care, they also demonstrate good quality too! I think you’ll like having them to bring to your coloring group or even as an easy set to travel with😊
I took it to colouring group and it worked really well, plus it was quite a talking point, haha! I'm really enjoying the set. There's an even bigger one coming out soon too, lol.
Lovely as always. Its a shame that there isn't a really good pencil storage box with trays that slide out in layers for when your working with them. I know we have those heavy wood boxs but something a bit lighter so you can carry them to a work surface would be great.
These are cool pencils. I really like the box they came in. Your pictures are beautiful! Now if only Ohuhu markers would send you their latest set of alcohol brushmarkers to try I would be happy. They sent a box to Megan Weller. So why not you?
If they fixed the box (so each pencil went in their individual holes), balanced more the excess yellows and amped up the color count to 120, these would easily be my top budget pencils.
They have got rid of some of the yellows and it's now available in 126 pencils. I don't know about the box since I don't care, I'm going to transfer mine to a case when they arrive.
wow them pencils were really great! and that box has a gorgeous design on the cover too, don't think it would bother me so much having to pull them out but it would annoy me slightly when they started to fall over, I guess you'd get around that by replacing the ones you use before taking the next ones, anyway I loved the artworks especially the roses!! Great informative video! :D
I tend to pull out groups of colours, so it made a bit of a mess with the remaining pencils, and they are all out of order again, lol. 😂 But at least they're great to use, yay!
If you cut a piece of cardstock to size (about two inches tall and the length of the box) and slide one between each of the rows that connect, it helps keep them in place. That said I would simply put them in a binder. I never mess with tins either so it's all the same for packaging to me.
@@BeckyTregear thank you so much. I have some of the faber castell ones but they are quite pricey. So an alternative would be great. The Faber Castell ones are my second favourite as I love the Lyra ones the most.
Thank you! The pencils are amazing, but yes I made a mess of the order because of the way they fall over in the foam holder when others are taken out. I'm going to take the box to colouring group this week before I decide if I'm going to move them to another case.
Thank you! Yes roses are pretty frustrating, which is why I coloured an easy base layer with marker first, so then it is just the shading that's needed, lol.
what kind of orange oil do you use for blending, if you don't mind me asking? like, orange essential oil? or is there some other kind of orange oil that I magically cannot find anywhere 😅
I use an art product called Zest It Pencil Blend, which can be found online at Jackson’s Art (and I got mine at a local art store). It’s good stuff! There is an odourless option, or the regular one smells like orange. Not sure if it’s 100% orange oil, but it definitely smells like it!
Enjoyed learning about these new colored pencils..Would anyone in our art community know where these pencils are manufactured country in?...i think the colors are quite lovey....i like the box idea but i can see a issue if your limited with arthritis or dexterity in your hand or arm so you'd have to most likely have to put pencils in a pencil case,i kinda wish companys would already do this tho for customers to have a case already with the purschase of pencils could help so many people with limited mobitity issues....i seen they have done this with a case with their new pastel markers which i think was wonderful idea as you can bring pencils from this set aslong with the markers if your going some where....mikelle art mom🎨✍👩🎨
I'm pretty sure they're made in China, as Arrtx is part of Paul Rubens which if I'm not mistaken is a Chinese company. These guys make some really good products and are establishing themselves as a reputable company. One of those zip cases with the pencil slots would be a good solution for these pencils if and when the box gets too difficult. 🙂
They offered to send it to you? You mean you didn't contact them at all to ask them for it? They just out of nowhere sent you the product? How did they get your address?
I guess they were trying to come up with something different and new in the packaging department. The idea is good, but it still needs some refinement, I think!
The packaging of Arrtx.irritates me a lot. Standard metal tin is so much better, and better for storage as well. Also, not enough reds is an issue. Otherwise they look nice.
The bigger 120+ box is even more of a struggle, lol! I reviewed that one too - I think there are more reds, and overall a more well rounded colour palette with pastel shades too.
One of these companies that gets their pencils from China could make a killing if they did open stock too, for sketchbook stuff, not finished (I seriously doubt they are lightfast). Arteza say they do open stock, but they never have all the colours in stock and never have white, so kind of useless, and yes, they could do open stock as multiples like Arteza do to make it cost effective. I also, don't like the box.

This was a good one. I'm going to check them out. Really liked that rooster-he had personality!

Great review Becky, loved your artworks!
Looking forward to trying these pencils myself!
Thank you! They're very nice 🙂

They are really great, very much like the Polychromos!
@@BeckyTregear That's fantastic, I may have to get me a set then and try them out because I do love my Polychromos pencils.

If they fixed the box (so each pencil went in their individual holes), balanced more the excess yellows and amped up the color count to 120, these would easily be my top budget pencils.
Hopefully they will fix that up, I'll mention it to them.
As for the box, place a thin cardboard or heavier paper between the pencil rows, it has helped me a lot!
The 120 set is now available. Box is the same though, just a different color.
They have got rid of some of the yellows and it's now available in 126 pencils. I don't know about the box since I don't care, I'm going to transfer mine to a case when they arrive.

Awesome artwork you are so talented, loved this video the pencils look really nice maybe I could ask Santa for them
Thank you! I hope Santa hears your request. 😁
They sure were very snug in there. Love both pieces, very nice blending.
Took awhile to get them out, haha!
I would love to see a comparison to the Fabre castell polychromos pencils.
I'll have to do one I think; they feel so similar!

How does one find a color group
The local library runs it, along with a few other social groups. It's free too!
I’d say the derwent pencil tins are the hardest to travel with because it always comes undone no matter the size
I've had a 72 tin open up into my bag before. 😵💫

If you look in the details under the video Becky has all her details, including her PO Box address 🙂
@@BeckyTregear that's so awesome. I always wondered how that worked. Thanks. Now I know
These pencils would be better presented in a tin like the prismacolor
