In another video, the story was told that it was Susan who couldn't find Green Bay on the map and complained, "I don't even know where I'm going to live!" Vince replied, "By the time I'm done there, everyone will know where you live."

Great presentation. I knew Vince was buried on Mount Olivet, but was unaware that he lived in Fair Haven at one time and was a parishioner of St James in Red Bank.

You did an excellent job with this video I learned a few things that you had mentioned I thought I knew the whole story. I have been intrigued by Vince Lombardi since I was 10 even though I am an Eagles fan! He was a great motivater and a student of this great 👍 game. My one son is believe it or not a huge Packer fan ever since he was 4. His bed room looks like the Packer Hall of Fame.He is also an awesome D tackle and O tackle and is 12 wants to go to Notre Dame. Any awesome 👌 video great info!!!

What a wonderful presentation. I live behind Mt. Olivet, and always wonder what part of the cemetery he was buried in.

I think Marie was a very strong woman. She had to be to stand up to Vince when a lot of his players would not.
As to the mink stoles given to the wives of the Packers, I think it was in 1962. The photo was from Life Magazine in 1962 after the Packers won their first NFL Championship under Vince in 1961.
Lombardi's funeral was big for a sports figure though an earlier one that rivaled or exceeded Vince's was the funeral of hockey star Howie Morenz in 1937. There were reportedly 10,000 mourners with tens of thousands along the route to Mount Royal Cemetery Montreal, Quebec.
As to Vince being the best football coach ever, I heartily agree. In fact, the only coaches in any sport I would say that would rival him are Red Auerbach with the Celtics and John Wooden at UCLA. Wooden in particular was outstanding imo.

I didn't like Vince Lombardi, I thought that he was a bad person. I find it to be disgusting that such a horrible person is so honored as he is.
