What a great video thank you. I am doing my family tree. Argyll, Bute, Islay, Strathclyde, are some of the places I found my ancesters lived, the McAlester's, MacNeill's, McShenoigs, Campbell's, Murray's are some of my ancestral clans. Thank you for this. 🥰
Hi Bremner's Ghost, after some research we haven't been able to find anything referencing "Danish Longphort" in this area. What we do know is that Dunstaffnage Castle was built by Dougall, the grandson of Sommerled, who is believed to be either Danish or Irish... The only Danish Longphort reference we found was in Dublin, Ireland.
@@gomadgo13 As the Irish called the Danes the Dubh Gall or Dark Strangers I figured there was probably a connection with Dublin. Thanks for checking it up :)

Thank you! How did they make concrete in 15th century? 🤔
made from lime, sand and water and some gravel thrown in for luck
The Romans invented cement over 2000 years ago,the Castle builders incorporated into their monuments.
@@gomadgo13 oh, well, i see
@@rickhatcher8180 oh, i didn't know
Was Dunstaffnage a Danish Longphort? Clan Dougall building it indicates that they were originally Danes.
