It seems like every time there is a massive prototype crash, there’s usually a Ferrari involved. We’ve seen this trope time and time again.

Interesting that your previous video was about Allen McNish. Pipo’’s crash was very reminiscent of Allen’s 2011 Le Mans crash. Both drivers cut across the nose of a slower moving GT Ferrari, although from opposite sides. Neither car would continue their respective races.

The worst part was the going straight into the tire barrier but the car's action after was limited and well damped.

Racing cars have become so safe that I didn't even consider any injuries to the driver at first. Then I thought it took longer than expected for the safety team to arrive so I'm glad he was ok. My biggest safety concern afterwards was that while the car was upside down I saw what looked like a fan in shorts and a shirt, no safety gear, in the background try to scale a fence to get to the driver. The guy was overweight so either he wasn't fit enough or someone shouted at him not to. Either way, even with the best of intentions, a younger, fitter fan might have gotten on to the track and put himself in a very dangerous position. Something that should be looked into in my opinion.

Gotta say, between this and the spa crash last year, that dallara and Cadillac have one very safe car

Derani has had quite a bit of crashes overlooking opponents. He might want to look at his own agression. Derani has the faster car and needs to take the slow car into account (these are IMSA rules btw, not my opinion).

Im just happy Pipo was out of the race.
He would have 100% run Delatraz or Bourdais off the road in those last few minutes and then be like "im just aggressive thats how I race 🤷‍♂️"

You know he had a 12 second lead at that point he should not have taken any risks he could have been saving fule .he gets into a disaster. too much risk G M should consider replacing him he's fast yes but makes bad decisions.

I wish I could see an incar footage but I think it was a bad judgment of space when he made the pass. It was a left hand kink and he didn’t need to cut in front of the Ferrari. Big mistake, tough brake.

It’s called “Karma” for the IMSA crooks for BOP’ng the sh*t out of Acura’s/Honda they we’re the fastest car last year and supposedly this year, off course they don’t want a Honda or a non caucasian car brand dominating again, just like what the WEC doing to TOYOTA’s i don’t remember the Audi R8’s getting BOP’d when they were dominating back in the day?
