I have the v3 in orange and love it. While I am not taking these diving I am happy with the changes. The bezel height is closer to the original than the v2 and I happy the v3 has the lum pip. Lumed date wheel is a great feature ... make sure to include a note asking for the specs you want apparently there are some without lumed date wheel (I saw comments expressing disappointment that someone's watch didn't come with it and the response was make sure to ask for it). Great value watch.
It’s nice to see that Seestern understands, not to separate the ft/m bezel. Some people just don’t understand. I would make fun of the Chinese, but Orient makes 12 hour watches with 24 hour bezels & call them dual time (maybe for half an hour) -But it’s worse than a 31 day moonphase, or 7 day power reserve that is only a 70 hour power reserve.
Picked the same one up after your review. Absolutely love it. Great review, I’m gonna chop and change the straps but unless you’re right up close to the watch you’ll never know this a homage. It’s beautiful and feels comfy. Very happy, thanks for the recommendation
I have a V3. I was going to move on to a Doxa but was very disappointed in both the lume and the diver's extension on a +£1000 watch. I don't normally go for copies/homages but until Doxa up their game there's no way I'm paying the prices for the original. The Seestern is extremely good value.
I know I'm going to sound like the oddball here I really liked all of the offerings from Seestern and Tactical Frog I never actually planned on using them for actual diving instruments but I did go all in on the Thorn for 138$ and couldn't be happier the amazing box sapphire crystal really put it over the edge for a massive vintage look for me and aside from the occasional free dive I always use my modern dive computer for sustained dives and I'm giving serious thought to a second color option Great review as always my friend greatly appreciated 👍
This watch would be a perfect for my upcoming vacation! Anyway, the dial color isn't to my liking but there are other colors and rest of the watch is great. Seestern definitely make some great watches. Great review. Cheers!
I know these are fantastically well made homages. What kept me from buying one is the massive slabsided side profile. I believe the OG's midcase is a little slimmer and more curvaceous.
There isn't much between this and the Doxa, yes the mid section is a little deeper but it's not really noticeable. Chillin With Watches does a side by side comparison. I always get comments on this watch, at a private hospital consultation my surgeon couldn't believe how good it was, initially mistaking it for a Doxa, the biggest give away is the crystal.
Hey bud, some decent changes, not enough for me to get it over my V1. I would've like to have seen them slim down the case a little. I still prefer the Tactical Frog overall though. Thanks for the review. All the best.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR it fits my wrist better. I also prefer the bezel action, the Seestern moved to easily on the V1. There was the bezel debacle with the Frog but how many people actually use it for it's intended purpose? Not many I would guess. But mainly it just feels and looks better on my wrist.
I just got my Orange dial V3 in today and i am blown away. I cannot believe the quality for a $162 watch. I absolutely love this watch and now i dont have to worry about wearing one of my much more expensive swiss divers to work and damaging it.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR honestly no. My work watch up to this point was a Seiko SRPE37 which i love but I’m afraid of breaking it at work. This scratches that Doxa itch for below $170 and if i break it, its easily replaceable. My first “cushion case” too, and they wear so comfortably. Great review, thank you!
I actually picked up a V3 Seestern 300 over a Helm Vanuatu. $250 CAD for the Seestern versus the $380 of the Helm (a friend was selling his SS Helm Vanuatu for that price). I understand the all the hype behind the Helm, but side by side with this Seestern, I couldn't justify the premium.
It's very weird. I can see a blue tint AR coating on your army dial. I just received mine 2 days ago, and I haven't got any blue tint. They either changed it to white or there isn't any AR coating on mine. It's fairly reflective so I think that I got a watch without AR. I'm not the only one that noticed that. If you Google "Seestern sub300t army AR coating", a review pops up where someone left a comment a month ago saying the same as I said above. Something fishy going on with that model.
Ho avuto la versione gialla ed è effettivamente un orologio bellissimo, l' ho poi venduto ma, ne sono pentito e molto probabilmente in una prossima vendita speciale lo ricomprerò.
Nice review! I have a V@ Army and like it a lot but the lume is terrible. It looks great on the V3 and I may sell my V2 to get the upgraded V3 as the lack of lume on the V2 really bothers me.
I want to buy one of these, but 14.5mm is taller than my townhouse. All that said, it’s lovely to look at. I may have to wait for a thinner V189 or go with the Tactical Frog for the thinner profile. :)
Thanks for the input. Good to know. It’s interesting how that works. Any of the Captain Willard style watches come to mind. Huge, but somehow very comfy.
Bracelet is Seestern's weak spot. They can't get the clasp engineered properly to fit with the bracelet. Always the sharp edge on the inner short side. Otherwise they do a great job

I got the grey V2 and received a watch with bezel height like the V1 and returned it as a result. I think you need to clarify the V3 bezel height; no reason to go back to V1 other than using up older parts.
I mention in the video that the bezel height on the V3 is the same as the V1. They did reduce it for the V2 apparently, but then reverted back for the V3.
