The main thing he got wrong in this video, is that after you complete the "campaign-ish" mode, you can unlock infinite worlds. I also don't think he understands the point of the game, but that's his opinion.
Ethan Moore from what I heard infinite worlds arnt there only huge worlds unless it is a secret or sandbox unlock cause I have yet to play sand box but I agree that he doesn't understand the point of the game. I agree with a lot of fans that this is nothing like Minecraft.
This video should be renamed to " Guy bitches about controller settings/UI even though the game is pretty good and probably not for people his age anyway"
Ok Alex, the controls are very counter-intuitive to you. That’s fine. I play Minecraft and I can see where the issue can be for a person very used to those controls; but I think that after a while you can adapt to those controls. The main issue with this game are not controls: it is that many things are not quite fully explained (like what the golden beams are and how to get to the chest beneath them) and some “missions” are badly explained too. Then there’s a total lack of many Lego sets. The game has been in early access on steam for the last two (?) years and then it released last march. But there’s no Lego City, Lego Elves, Friends, Ninjago, DC Heroes, Marvel Heroes, Harry Potter, Ghostbusters, Pirates of the Caribbean... not even through DLC. Yes, there are biome-themed worlds, but they use a generic theme. You also seem to get wrong some other things about this game: infinite worlds doesn’t mean each world is without boundaries; it refers to the number of worlds you can visit, not their size! The other main problem is that the game is full of things to discover, but you just run around collecting building projects, unlocking items and do some other stuff, but it feels a bit empty in comparison to Minecraft. Building things using actual Lego bricks is definitely super cool, though. This game is not this bad. I’m sorry you have so many issues with the controls. The game won’t be a system seller, but it has its fair reason to be and it’s quite a fun experience.
Now long did you played this game? You have a health bar because, when you die, you may fail to complete a quest by the time you respawn (I’m thinking about defending NPCs quests). And on larger worlds you have dungeons to complete, which are far more complex that the random quests you get from NPCs. I’m sorry the controls have been such a pain for you. It’s clear you cannot committ enough to this game to see what good it has to offer just because of controls. After years of Minecraft, I still mistake the action button for the destroy button many times, with sometimes very bad results, but I’ve never said it is an issue in the control scheme. I think you could definitely adapt to this controls if you just wanted. I think the whole game doesn’t feel very fun to you after years and years of Minecraft, so you’re not trying all you can to get into this game. That’s fine, you don’t have to like all the games around here, but I’m afraid many of your “complaints” can be overcome by just letting the game teach you how to be played rather that constantly trying to play it in a way that may feel more comfortable and intuitive to you but it is just odd for this game.
VigilantEternity I mean lying sells as well. That's what sponsors are for. I prefer to hear what's wrong first before being splashed only with positives
Jack Maw Oh absolutely. But I'd prefer a more objective approach than "I don't like the menu." Feels a bit forced- like, no pun intended, his Sonic Forces rant. Nitpicky, heavily opinionated, and downright contradictory at points. Know what I mean?
I have the PC version, and I can say that the controls are far less confusing. Most likely because mouse&keyboard has a lot more possible inputs than any controller.
I like this game. But for me my complaints aren't about controls or frame rate. My issues are with the substance. I wish that AI was more intelligent. When I spawn AI (for example Towns people in a city) They would literally leave the city I spawned them in and would mindlessly walk around to a nearby forest which is what I DONT WANT THEM TO DO. I also wish you could assign the AI text to speak when spoken to, or assign quests similar in the campaign. I feel like creation would have really explored making really fun worlds to explore and playing other players content more especially when it's more objective driven. Very similar to what others do in Minecraft. In this game however, I just go and look at stuff and say, "Hey that's cool." and then its all over. There is no depth to this game. The best part of it, creating, is great, but I mean for heavens sake in Minecraft you create to survive. Having some other game modes like Survival, or make your own game within the game would've been super cool. Especially seeing what others could make. Very similar to what Roblox is. Anyway, those are my gripes with the game.
I have the game both on a (powerful) pc and Ps4. Performance is bad on both. I find that the draw distance is bad. The world loads slowly around you, and when you move in one particular direction the computer can't keep up and the draw distance becomes even lower. If they coulf fix this I would be happy! I should be possible.
TehGhoSt WHo PLay, sort of. But lego bricks are a lot more complicated to render than the cubes in minecraft. I think TT-Games should just follow Minecraft at large distances and render everything as cubes at large distances, which they are already doing to a limited extent. They could do it more efficiently and make the draw distance a lot bigger. By the way, I also bought Lego Worlds on the Switch yesterday! It holds up pretty well. There are a lot less critters I notice, compared to pc and ps4.
I have the game on PC and I don't see any frame drops or draw distance issues. Not sure what PC you have, but a decent one should run it absolutely fine. On my PC I pretty much get 60 FPS and above.
Majick, I had low frame rates near the dungeon. You can set the draw distance very high on PC, but when you move around, areas further away stream in too slowly. I can often overtake the edge with an aircraft, even on PC. But perhaps this has changed. I haven't played the PC version for a while. The PS4 version I have checked recently, and the pop in is as bad as it always was.
The thumbnail was enough to crack me up with laughter! You know, maybe if they allowed customisable controls and tightened the menu's responsiveness by way of a patch or two, LEGO Worlds would've been a little better. They've promised online play and a better icon, at least.
This video is wrong in several spots. You only have like 14 gold bricks, you unlock bigger worlds after 25 bricks and even bigger at 80 bricks. You haven't discovered most of the map when you claim that "this is the entire world" and you're on the smallest map. There are several items that cost several thousand of the studs and while money is easy to get, there's also a ton of stuff to purchase. There has never been any consequence to dying in a Lego game so there's really no point in this one either. By the halfway point you are literally nitpicking every single thing the game does, which tells me you ran out of things to say. The developers are adding a patch to fix the menus and icon for the Switch version and to fix framerate issues.
These are the dumbest reasons to not like a game. Because of the same 0.5 second delay? Or the controls? Both which you can get used to. These are horrible reasons.
So clearly you have never played a lego game because the controls are exactly like any other lego game that's why they are that way. It is a lego game not minecraft so of course the controls will be different from what your used to. I love lego games so I bought this game knowing the controls were going to be like any other like Lego game.
You collect gold bricks and unlock more worlds, you progress by unlocking world and collecting all pieces, in general this isnt like minecraft where you farm build and craft lego worlds is just a sandbox game where you build to your hearts content.
I'm 53 gold bricks of the way through. I agree with the controls and UI, but after a few hours of persevering I am quite used to it now. Not to detract from your other opinions (I agree with most of what I'm seeing here!!), but TT Games did an AMA on reddit a few days ago and suggests some promising updates to come. A lot of this may be addressed. This is a direct quote "We intend to add a lot of feature updates, but also improve existing ones, such as menus and the way tools behave."
I appreciate these kind of reviews because for me if the game does not control well, then I get to frustrated and regret the purchase. Ooooo man the frustration of buying games in the 80s with no reviews was insane!!
I understand people's concern with his opinion of this and lack of understanding and time invested, but to be quite fair some of this stuff is actually unacceptable when you consider that they have such an amazing game like minecraft to take inspiration from.
I mean....it's for kids. Lego is for kids, so they're going to cater to their target market. In terms of sluggish controls and a shoddy user experience, I wonder if they've made any improvements there? Would be cool to see a follow-up look at this.
Wow the camera complaint was so stupid. Clicking sticks? Garbage. The controls ain't that bad tbh maybe they updated some stuff but only the controls being different for planes bugged me. THE WORLD IS NOT THAT SMALL. He only played to FOURTEEN gold bricks, which doesn't unlock bigger worlds. There are bins for sorting the models... And a search bar.... I'm not overflowing with cash in my world... An extra heart costs 100,000. I love this game and Minecraft. Minecraft is more complicated by tons even though I like Minecraft better... But the comparison is unfair. 1/10 review
Sounds like you just want it to have minecraft controls, if they had minecraft controls you would then say they are just copying minecraft. Sounds like a toddler crying he wants to play minecraft and his mom bought lego worlds.
My 5yo loves lego and have played multiple classic lego games. He finished an 1800 piece set just after Christmas within a week 😂 I’m wondering if he would like this? Anyone have experience with kids playing it? He has played a little Minecraft with his cousin but I like this option better for his age range
@GodZpeed X7 You realize that you're respond to a 2 year old comment right? This was before Forces came out. I didn't know it would be bad. Also this game IS good. That's why I made that comment. To defend this game.
If you play it on xbox it runs smoothly, and the controls are good. Your just nitpicking and from how many gold bricks you have you're hardly experienced it, I'm guessing have only plaid an hour.
I like the game and i have it but i hate that you have to have two controllers (i mean 4 joy cons or two pro controllers) so that means if you wanna play this game in two player mode you have to buy extra joycons or a pro controller
Well how the fuck else would you control the camera with the limited number of buttons a singular joy-can has? 4 face buttons, analog stick, 2 bumpers, doesn't seem like nearly enough to be able to control cameras with...
Doesnt let you customize cars and crafts, doesnt have any bricks that let you attach stuff to walls, cant rotate stuff vertically, a very limited sandbox game and its fucking lego????
That's not the entire world when you were skydiving because of the render distance and you unlock bigger worlds as you collect more gold bricks
Just to be shure im considering to buy this game can you have bigger worlds?
@@sjoerdev yes the more you play the bigger the world ps this fixed all is problems

By the way, I have a i5 4460 with GTX 970, 8gb ddr3 ram.
with that problem with holding a button for he start screen thing ...... have you played a lego game were you can change characters?
If Lego Worlds won't solve your lego fix than lego city undercover is always an option
Alex did you ever play a lego game before?
I'm not Alex but by the sound of it probably not
5:34 there is just click that box(free build) and you can switch tools fast..... read the tutorial atleast -_-
I'm curious about what you had to blur...
Do tell, good sir
Am I the only one here semi-obsessed with this game that's over 20 yrs old? Lol I'm a grown child
They said “worlds” which is plural, which means they where talking about the number of worlds, they didn’t say “the worlds are infinite in size”
Am really enjoying it. Sandbox mode is definitely my favourite part.
Wow...you got to the farm world and think that is it for the size of the worlds?
You unlock larger and larger worlds the further you play... the hell.
Couldn't get through the video over the reviewer tripping on every word that spilled from his mouth.
Being a skeleton, collecting certain things to power up your vehicle and move to a new part of the world. Hmm Odyssey vibes Kappa
Does that Splatoon 2 pro controller that he has have rubber grips or are they just plastic?
Your complaining about this game way too much cause every game has its problem
These are the dumbest reasons to not like a game. Because of the same 0.5 second delay? Or the controls? Both which you can get used to. These are horrible reasons.
So clearly you have never played a lego game because the controls are exactly like any other lego game that's why they are that way. It is a lego game not minecraft so of course the controls will be different from what your used to. I love lego games so I bought this game knowing the controls were going to be like any other like Lego game.
Time stamp on the blurred screen?
can you change the controls?
HOW DO I PLAY THIS GAME?! HOW DO I PROGRESS?!
You collect gold bricks and unlock more worlds, you progress by unlocking world and collecting all pieces, in general this isnt like minecraft where you farm build and craft lego worlds is just a sandbox game where you build to your hearts content.
I find it hilarious how everyone says LEGOS are a Minecraft ripoff
LAST I CHECKED LEGOS WERE HERE FIRST!!!
How do you get the costumes?
This video actuly made me want to play the game it looks realy cool
Do you get HD rumble while your playing the game with Joy-Cons?
oh my god
it's bootleg pewdiepie
May the taste of another have no impact on you.
Bro this game was great u tripping broi don't know what ur on but this game was a goat
The big problem with the game is the controls really?!?!
Can you use a pro controller for split screen on switch
TheWizard I’m pretty sure
Lol, the camera control sounds like a mechanic from early 3D games. Disappointing to hear.
Smashing things is how you get currency seriously and also you have barely played this game cause there are huge worlds
Why did you blur it
He did no editing for this video
I don't agree.
done
I appreciate these kind of reviews because for me if the game does not control well, then I get to frustrated and regret the purchase. Ooooo man the frustration of buying games in the 80s with no reviews was insane!!
Currency every where is in ALL LEGO GAMES
The world sizes increase as you progress through the game.
I understand people's concern with his opinion of this and lack of understanding and time invested, but to be quite fair some of this stuff is actually unacceptable when you consider that they have such an amazing game like minecraft to take inspiration from.
I have it on XB1, and it's fun. Really fun, I can easily lose a day playing Lego Worlds. But yeah, the build controls are a battle to use
The moneys called studs
1/10 review
I have this game on pc... and yeah it's not really good. I don't think the problems are really only on the Switch version.
LangeManGlenn on the pc I like the early access better. It had infinite worlds but no quest the use to be about adventure.
I loved the early acess
What did you blur?
Sounds like you just want it to have minecraft controls, if they had minecraft controls you would then say they are just copying minecraft. Sounds like a toddler crying he wants to play minecraft and his mom bought lego worlds.
Your talking about little things that don't matter its still a good game
My 5yo loves lego and have played multiple classic lego games. He finished an 1800 piece set just after Christmas within a week 😂 I’m wondering if he would like this? Anyone have experience with kids playing it? He has played a little Minecraft with his cousin but I like this option better for his age range
Do you think an update might fix any of the issues? Maybe the possibility of custom controls / menu refixes?
Oh, I just got the end of the video haha
I thought you learned you're lesson from sonic forces Alex. Shame on you.
@GodZpeed X7 You realize that you're respond to a 2 year old comment right? This was before Forces came out. I didn't know it would be bad. Also this game IS good. That's why I made that comment. To defend this game.
The first time I played it I clicked the menu and the hole game crashed
Apparently tiny nitpicks are infuriating now even though I've only been playing for 1 hour
If the control and menu issues were fixed, would you recommend this game?
How many players can play?
If you play it on xbox it runs smoothly, and the controls are good. Your just nitpicking and from how many gold bricks you have you're hardly experienced it, I'm guessing have only plaid an hour.
I like the game and i have it but i hate that you have to have two controllers (i mean 4 joy cons or two pro controllers) so that means if you wanna play this game in two player mode you have to buy extra joycons or a pro controller
Well how the fuck else would you control the camera with the limited number of buttons a singular joy-can has? 4 face buttons, analog stick, 2 bumpers, doesn't seem like nearly enough to be able to control cameras with...
the loading screen does actually say reticulating splines at some point
Doesnt let you customize cars and crafts, doesnt have any bricks that let you attach stuff to walls, cant rotate stuff vertically, a very limited sandbox game and its fucking lego????
3:18 this originally came out in 2015 in early access
Is it just me cause on my switch it freezes a lot
