That eta of music mid-late 80s to early 90s had the best non-mainstream music scene. And it was all ours. You can hear the influences it all had on so many different bands.
I bought this 7" at Rocking Horse Records in Fitchburg, MA in August of 1990 "the day it came out" or somewhere around there. This and the Youth of Today 'Disengage' 7" were released at the same time (got that one too the same day!) The Burn 7" and Inside Out 7" were released together as well in April of 1991. Wanted to post the lyrics for Omission. I said, Why do I always have to spell it out for you? Our story is always changing. We change it to hide the pain. And when the truth rears, its ugly head, it's all too late. Too late for the omission, That you kept inside and wished it was you. Does it seem like the same man? Doesn't seem the same at all. I can feel myself fall, falling, down. You can wave goodbye to your bad side, And suppress the feelings that could hurt you mind. There is no need for lies if the news ain't breaking. Framework falling down on the downside, Built on a weak spot, Facts hiding in your mind, Wait until the bomb drops. We have more sense than lies. The story is in our eyes. Does it seem like the same man? Doesn't seem the same at all. I can feel myself fall, Falling, down on the downside, Built on a weak spot, Facts hiding in your mind, Wait until the bomb drops. It doesn't seem like the same man? Doesn't seem the same at all. I can feel myself fall, falling, down.
I remember when this came out and it was like, “what the what? It sounds like Fugazi, but only harder.” Of course anything thay was not straight ahead hardcore bitd, “sounded like Fugazi.” Lol! Masterpiece!
This EP is so fucking raw. An unpolished gem of wonderful ear-splitting noise. I've loved it since it came out. Just sends shivers down my spine now like it did the first time I heard it.. Too bad their subsequent full album was so overproduced it lost its edge. Especially Unfullfilled. They ruined that one. Oh well, glad this is here at least.
Recently bought the 7" vinyl. To anyone else who owns it as well, is it just my copy or do they all sound poorly recorded/pressed? This video sounds much more refined than what I have.
Go1denRevo1ver yeah... all i hear sound like that.. but i love it.. it sounds like punk rock not some industry cultivated bamd that sat in the studio for a year.
This cassette was exactly the perfect length for my drive to high school every morning.
this EP was THE SHIT when it came out... very inspiring
Still is
Still is
Never was.
Hell yeah man. It turned the tables for sure. Refreshing as standard hardcore was becoming very boring in the late 80s. PS: Leo Lombarozo is a kook
Changed the course of hardcore.

I can't believe this entire EP is here!!!! So awesome....thanks random stranger!!!
Oh man! Saw them open up for 7Seconds in Milwaukee at the Unicorn circa '91
The memories of all my friends that passed
Picked this up today on red vinyl. Had the demo on cd for years.

Yup -- those four EPs were the holy quadrumvirate of records you HAD to have at that time! I cannot disassociate one from the other.
Yes sir. For some reason I bought Quicksand & YOT on CD!! Wish I had the OG vinyl on both releases
Was a game changer and still rips today
I saw them play at City Gardens in Trenton NJ. Love them! Think Sick of it All or Leeway opened.
Yup same

Great cover
thank you for this
so listening to the gorilla buscuits then this.. i realized the dudes from GBs essentially did their own versions of minor threat and fugazi...

I remember this cassette.
SO FUCKING BADASS...QUICKSAND FUCKING ROCKS, MUST HAVE MORE...QUICK MUST GET BACK TOGETHER AND DO IT AGAIN...
best EP of my youth
Love these versions of the songs.. thanks! Wish I could find where I put this 7"
SICK!
Love this band
Progression from YOT and Gorilla Biscuits. Still heavy as hell.
immer noch geil
So them open for RATM at UMASS ... so fun !!!
COOL BAND. LISTENING FROM 1994
Same
PESO!! FODA!!!!
still love this band! great hearing it again whoo buddy!
During the early straight edge days
Yup
This is good, if you didn't know.
The genius of Quicksand.. look at the cover - they had even foreseen an orange President Donald J. Trump.
It's hard not to see that these days
@S G He sure is.
Tronald Dump.
Dig that RATM push in the rhthym !!!
Yes, I agree, except this predates RATM by about a year
Technically you dig the Quicksand push in RATM's rhythm. ;)

always had the same feeling with unfullfilled, this one is much better
Not liking Slip is crazy. That album is legendary and their best work by far. Demos and rawness tend to get overromanticized in hardcore.

Think this was remastered in 2012
You bought the poopy-press.
It reminds me of the Tool.
And Helmet. Yes, tool was alternative in undertow
actually tool reminds you of this-this ep cam eout 2 years before the first tool ep
I would take quicksand over tool any day of the week
@@brandyadams1439 tool just bring that sound and made it more boring with long progressive sections
No tool
unfulfilled here >>>>>>>>>>>> unfulfilled slip
Does anyone on here know they completely hi jacked janes addiction mountain song? I mean thats cool
I'm more impressed with slip
Slip was gold
Can someone tell me who is the guy on the cover?? please
Alex Jones
