John Carpenter used a similar hollow slide ring modulated like sound as yours in 8:30 in Christine . I thought his was from a PPG, do you? here I go, first sound: ua-cam.com/video/giZDDvumS7o/v-deo.html
What's compuphonic?

The best of all Jupiters!
Agree with you 🙌🎹
This is the sound of synth pop. No other synth screams 1981 like this one. Amazing.
Thank you for Watching
I really loved how you could hear the essence of a couple of artists in that....
Thank you so much 🙌🎹
Excellent! JP4/Promars LFO can speed up to audible rates, modulating VCOs frequency. An amazing machine.
Thank you Jose. 🙌🎹
This thing sounds too good! A Full Phatt Organic Space Machine. Love it 👍
Agree with you 🙌
Love the Jupiter 4 it’s a beast of a machine with wonder sounds and still sounds good today, you can’t beat this. Got to be one of the most famous synths in the world, the amount of songs this synth has been in. This just takes you back to the late 70s and early 80s these sounds. I remember when this machine came out and I was a little kid, I thought this thing had come from the future lol. Great to see and hear this again love it and thanks for sharing this. Just love this channel and what you do. One thing I will never live down is in 1995 I was in a secondhand music shop and saw a Jupiter 8 going for £375 and a Juno 106 for 70 and I didn’t buy them because we was all looking a digital synths then. I will never live that down I mean a Jupiter 8 can go for £30,000 now in top condition it’s mad.
Thank you Michael. 🎹🙌
Yes all was very cheap in the 90s. Analog was out. Sampling was in. Now is all different. The life is full of up and downs
@@retrosound72 I know it’s mad when you think about it. Only if I knew back then lol I be rich buying up the analog synths. It’s funny going back to early 80s when the analog synths ruled then the DX7 came out and in a way things went bad because as I said before everyone used the presets and never learned to program it. It would of been a different story if they did. That’s why the DX7 gets a bad rap because of this. To have the Jupiter, DX7 and an Emulator 2 back in the 80s you had a top setup. You look at it the Jupiter was taken to the limits just like the emulator but the DX7 wasn’t because of it’s not easy to program ways. Music just went preset DX7 way when it came out when it should of been taken to it limits like the emulator and Jupiter. It’s funny people put their minds into the other synths but not the DX7. Then the D50 came out with the same problems and not easy to program but a bit better than the DX7 but still just used the presets and the same story in a way the D50 never got to shine. Then the M1 came and just went on from there. Funny how things turned out.
@michaelmitchell8218 You just don't have a glue how many presets people made for D-50. Thousands of them were released on expansion cards. This synth is a part of late 80s early 90s sound, along with the M1 and AKAI samplers.
@@Acrimonious_Snake you mean clue ? I do have a clue. The most famous sounds on synths are Jupiter, Juno and DX7. D50 does have famous sounds but not in the same range as the others.
Incredible sounds from past.
Clear, elegant, sweet and poweful, classical and modern at the same time. Really a more than beautiful survey!
Thank you for watching
Космическое звучание. Очень порадовало это видео. Спасибо большое!😌😊💯👍👍👍👍👍
Спасибо большое и хорошего дня 🙌☀️🎧🎹
Such an awesome Jupiter synth. Roland needs to Boutique this baby.

Thank you Marcus 👍
YES!!! What a sound. A tough competitor for my all time fav synth the Juno-60.
Thank you for watching 🎹👍
YES!!!!!!!! Another JP-4 video from you!!!!!!!! This is (for me at least) THE synth from Roland, with so so so much character!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Thank you for your time 🙌🎹
@@retrosound72 Thank YOU!!! City Lights is still my favourite track, and the reason that I bought a Jupiter 4!!! Never been able to program the sound of 8:12 (yet) haha...
Some early Depeche Mode in there..❤
The Rolands from this era just sound fantastic. I have the Promars and it amazes me the sweet sounds I can get. Thanks for a great demo! Love all the sounds you got…
Agree with you.
Thank you for your time
I LOVE my jp4, the BEST and more crazy synth...
Agree with you 🎹🔥
The Roland Jupiter-4 sounds fantastic! Excellent collection from your fantastic JP-4 demos!
Thank you Rik. 🎹🙌
you've done a lot of great synthesizer videos but this may be the best synthesizer video I've ever seen on youtube! You've really mastered this synth and now you've made me what to go play mine!
Wow. Thank you so much for your kind words 🙌
some SERIOUS Duran Duran "nightboat" vibes right here!
🎹🙌
I can‘t help it. I always return to your mix. It‘s so beautiful. 😍
Thank you so much. 🎹🎧👍
I’d love a Boutique version of this - Roland if you’re listening :-))
😁😉
That should surely be possible. There is already a plugin which you can also load as a plug-out into the System-8.
The fatest of the Jupiters. 🤩
Now ya talking !!!
The SH-01A is (kind of) similar to the plug out version of the JP-4 and it's fun to use...
DOPE. I have the JP6, but I wish it had the for octave arpeggiator.
Thanks a lot
Wow!!
:))
i didn't realize how raw the Jupiter 4 sounds...giving my Juno-6 a run for it's money 😳😳😳
Great synth
Great 80s sounds, your demos are always amazing!
Thank you so much

Very nice! Thank you.
Thank you for your time
Great demo from a great instrument 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for your time 🙌🎹
I paid £80 for one of these in 1996 - now they’re worth nearly 70 times more than that. So wish we’d kept it.
Yes . Very cheap in the 90s
20.000 pesetas in Spain in 1993, like 120 € today.....

'Lost 70s' - 01:45 to 02:51 - is Utterly Gorgeous ! But the full version of the track isn't in your Playlist, and I can't see it on your Bandcamp... 😢 Really hope you put the complete track onto Bandcamp at some point so I can buy it...
Thank you 🙌 I will upload the video soon. It's new.
Hello - did you ever upload the full video for this 'Lost 70's song, or put it on to Bandcamp ?
My favorite Jupiter. This may be top 10 (modular not included) of all time. Maybe even top 5...(schleppen included 😂).
Agree with you 👍😁

NOOB-ish question, what are you using to get the seemingly random sounding sequence of squelching sounds that are in the background at around 6:00 while you play the leads?
