      Have a few questions for you. Also own a d10. 088.
      I hardly have any pressure by fuel pump (car won’t start)
      Just wondering if they came with in line pump (under drivers seat).
      And i have a lot of pressure by oil return line (fuel injectors leak off)
      I thought it was only return but I have a lot going back in.

      Because some people wanted fuel economy. The D10s are the diesel version the B10 is the petrol. Pre facelift B10s had a 3.2 inline 6 and 4.6 V8, then in the facelift they added VANOS (variable valve timing) they replacedthe 3.2 inline 6 with a 3.3 inline 6 they kept the 4.6 V8 and added a 4.8 V8s

      The first 6 cylinder biturbo diesel engine and what an engine that is ...M57

    • @leventef1463
      @leventef1463 3 роки тому

      @@MrMihaiD Yes, what an engine that is :) And nope, the M57 is the regular engine in the E39, and has a single Garrett turbocharger, see here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M57. The block in my car has M57A stamped on it. As far as I know it is the only biturbo M57 (one turbo per 3 cylinders). The next generation of engines from BMW in the E60 started having two turbos, but not biturbo, instead they went with one big and one small.

    Now that's a Diesel Beast Right there!
    Hell, didn't even knew that they made a Biturbo Diesel Alpina till this day.
    Also, about that grip on the armrest, You can actually replace that part. Informed Myself about it since I've gotta replace mine too. Yea, the Glory days of the Plasti-Dip idea in Fancy cars... It wasn't a good idea for the long run. Anyways, you can take the armrest apart and replace only the grip, OEM part is about 20-30 bucks.

    You are lucky !!! I have a E39 530d 2001 (Face lift) touring and Y make a small repro(only that i dont change anything in the engine) and now he have 231 Hp and 580 binary, and no smoke. The more spetacular thing he have ,when it rains, is very safe in the road because the original rear air suspension. he have now 297.000 Kms . I have other cars, but this one, i d'ont sell.

    • @florinlepadatu5648
      @florinlepadatu5648 3 роки тому +1

      Luckily the air suspension parts on touring is relatively affordable not to mention you can find some good aftermarket parts but if you have air suspension on sedan you gonna have to pay like alpina manifold for 1 air stunt because the construction on sedan is different you have no coils no shock absorbers they are all-in-one integrated in air rubber assembly and you'll find them only as OE part.

    About Webasto, i would advise you to get one from e53 or e46, because they were under the hood on those cars and in better shape as from e39. Also look from the car from UK, they usually has less mileage, and Webasto would theoretically have less cycles (you can check those with diagnostics).

    • @leventef1463
      @leventef1463 3 роки тому +1

      Nah, will get a new one. Webasto has a factory in Romania, actually.

    • @vincentask
      @vincentask 3 роки тому +1

      @@leventef1463 oh really? I thought they dont make those models any more. How much do they cost new? Because they are pain in the ass to repair.

    • @florinlepadatu5648
      @florinlepadatu5648 3 роки тому

      @@vincentask usually webasto is faulty due to corrosion of the circuit board, bad contacts or some mosfet transistor. These parts are available on e-bay for few pounds but the challenge is to open up nicely the case and replace and transfer the parts from old pcb to new one. That requires advanced skills in electronics repairs jobs and tools basically you need a guy who knows what to do. I believe there are some specialized workshops to deal with them cause I understand they are quite expensive to replace new. Sure if you are skilled enough go ahead but you certainly need webasto dedicated software and k-line interface to deal with it...Another failure point is the little water pump, or fuel pump in other words you need to check the entire system not just the webasto..

    The title of the video is a bit misleading. This is not a BMW, although it is built on one. Starting with the 90s, Alpina was producing sufficient cars to register as a standalone car manufacturer. My papers do not contain the name BMW anywhere. And the E39 chassis code is superfluous, as the models D10 (diesel) and B10 (benzin) imply E39. Other Alpina models, based on other BMW chassis, have different model designation, e.g. D5 and B5 are based on F10, etc.
    And a short correction. This is the 2nd generation common rail system from Bosch. Fiat and Magna where the first ones to play with it, but Bosch acquired them immediately after they came out with it.

    Very nice car, a lot of money and effort you put into it, but this is a rare beauty and I think it deserves to be taken good care and love.
    I spotted you miss the center headrest on the back seats, it is by design?
    You can find center console arm rest with storage compartment and adjustable position matching exactly your leather interior on e39romania Facebook group - don't worry if the opening plastic cap is worn out, it can be fixed in 20 min with isopropyl alcohol, water and soap and a plastic beautifier from 2+2 that might last decades - I did this retrofit 4 years ago on my car and last week for a friend of mine also (witch have exactly your leather color) and I can assure you it looks way better than original appearance with that nasty rubber paint like a VW.
    Also perhaps you didn't know that nokia produced a dedicated phone base/mount for e39 that is attached on the right side of the central console and it looks just like it should, oem style, in fact I was digging realoem for a part number and accidentally discovered that nokia provided that part in all interior colors wrapped in leather for e39 owners that mount their nokia phone holder/charger in a dealership, their car kit integrates with bmw BM module natively. Is not a metal clamp is a plastic thing covered in leather that has a hole for a screw...is hard to explain just google around and you'll find it...The down side is that the passengers have a little bit less space on their right knee...3-4cm not a big deal
    As for the gas cap rubber strip - a friend of mine found that part on aliexpress and ordered 2 pieces for 5$ or so. I replaced mine 3-4 months ago and so far so good, even if is made in China looks and feels like oem and yes it fits perfect - the gas cap plastic and metal part are glued around and you have to separate them gently all around with a small flat (minus) screwdriver in order to replace that rubber thing... (20min job).
    I also noticed that you didn't have RLS and as Ryan beautifully explained how simple it is this retrofit if you already have the rain sensor it is a shame that you didn't install a RSL ready windshield and complete the retrofit oem style like Ryan did :) Don't worry about coding or parts in Romania you'll find LCM 3B all vers or GM or RLS sensor really cheap the prism is the issue and that comes glued by factory with the right windshield - just take a look on Ryan's video even is too late now...
    Don't get me wrong I love your car and what you have done so far but there are minor touches here and there to be addressed like that non-oem look button on your right side of the wheel trim where the TPM supposed to sit originally and yes perhaps you have to order that piece of wood trim or perhaps I'm wrong but I doubt that Alpina puts there a button like Dacia style :)
    Clearly the previous owner didn't treat this car as an Alpina should be or any e39 I might add and you did great saving this beauty and restoring it to its original state but still it's work to be done...
    One more thing, put back the original Alpina badges on the hood and trunk no bmw workshop can take away the warranty due to those badges...
    Greetings from Galati, Romania

    • @leventef1463
      @leventef1463 3 роки тому

      The rear center headrest is in the garage. I took it out for visibility. In the middle of the parcel shelf is where my V1 is mounted (would be right behind the center headrest).

    • @leventef1463
      @leventef1463 3 роки тому +1

      The windshield I put in actually has the prism for the light sensor too, that is why since then my rain sensor works so and so. I will replace the windshield again, just managed to crack it. When that happens, will retrofit the light switch as well.
