Today was the first time listening to this after many years. The tears came without a fail. Now that I'm actually in a committed relationship and starting to understand what love might be, it truly hurts to hear the pain and loss in these lyrics and imagine it happening to me and my partner. The nostalgia hurts too; occasionally I miss my younger and naive self who once thought Twilight is the pinnacle of romance and love. But love always evolves, that's what I've had the chance to see as I've grown up. I think this can count as an edgy little farewell to the child I once was, and as a welcome to the person I will grow up to be.
Poor Jacob, he tried his best and suffered again and again. People may not have liked his recklessness, but you can’t deny the he cared for her so much with everything he had. I loved how passionate he was about her, yes he could’ve been a gentleman and that would’ve made him perfect for me. I like that passionate love I’ll take that any day over someone tip toeing around me and my existence. Edit, 2023: Feels oddly poetic to continue where I left off half a decade ago. Today was the first time listening to this after many years. The tears came without a fail. Now that I'm actually in a committed relationship and starting to understand what love might be, it truly hurts to hear the pain and loss in these lyrics and imagine it happening to me and my partner. The nostalgia hurts too; occasionally I miss my younger and naive self who once thought Twilight is the pinnacle of romance and love. But love always evolves, that's what I've had the chance to see as I've grown up. I think this can count as an edgy little farewell to the child I once was, and as a welcome to the person I will grow up to be.

Poor Jacob, he tried his best and suffered again and again. People may not have liked his recklessness, but you can’t deny the he cared for her so much with everything he had. I loved how passionate he was about her, yes he could’ve been a gentleman and that would’ve made him perfect for me. I like that passionate love I’ll take that any day over someone tip toeing around me and my existence. Someone to grab me tight and as Jacob said, someone who wouldn’t stop loving/protecting me “until my heart stops beating”. At least he found love in the end, even if it was a little weird.
