Thanx again Annie and Julian. So refreshing to watch, and be part of your adventures. Please tell us more about your book! I've had such an eventful life, and I need to record it as a legacy for my kids and grandkids one day, but I need to get started on a video blog. I did a long one covering snippets of my life but I need to do lots of little ones as I think of things. In Australia we harvest rainwater from the roof, often as a sole source of drinking water in remote areas. Australia is one of the driest continents on earth. I'm in the process of using 8 IBC's (1000 litre Water totes) joined together and stacked next to my shed and workshop to harvest water for for my veggie gardens. I'll put up gutters to channel the water and a similar pump as yours to water the veggies. We are currently growing spinach, gooseberries, potatoes, tomatoes and beetroots. Soon cabbages, corn, squashes peas and beans. There are many ways to build an inexpensive water filtration system that will make your stream water safe to drink. Some as simple as filling a plastic bucket with sand and gravel to catch the particulates and trickling it through carbon / charcoal. Cheap, easy to build and effective. Thanx again for a very special look into your lives Kev
Yes this was an awesome video Annie ! So much work you & Julian have done such a beautiful job on the house & beautiful yard 👍 great little wood shed :) Cheers from Canada"
I like your videos. Saw a crayfish in the water you pump into the house. My grandfather said that you can safely drink water in which crayfish are harvested. So congratulations - your water is safe. Crayfish are very demanding about the quality of the water in which they live.
@@AnnieJulian Crayfish are quite neat creatures that live in clean water, well enriched with oxygen. They can live in any fresh water bodies: rivers, lakes, estuaries, reservoirs, ponds, etc. These invertebrates like clean bodies of water, uncontaminated by chemical, domestic or industrial waste, for which they are considered indicators of clean water. Love it! We are making plans to move to Sweden next year, we have been talking about it for 5 years and finally decided that we should just do it :) Your video's are such an inspiration, thank you!!💕
Waauw! Congratulations! :D That's amazing. Thank you for taking the time to write us! Best of luck with your move, I bet your already spending time planning it all. Lots of love, Annie
A sand point well is a very cheap well and works really great with a simple pressure tank and a small pump that would run off your solar panels only running only when it is recharging the air pressure during cycles .
Annie you guys are things done. We are starting Fall in Wisconsin USA we had our 1st frost growing season about done we get our water from a well. (below ground) with a pump you would need a hand pump without electricity. So Glad To see You take care Blessings
Thank you for sharing! You are a wonderful couple! So helpful, understanding and loving! Wish your family the best! So glad to see people who choose to live in nature! I live in a city, but you encourage me in my thoughts that one day i can move to nature! Widh you the best!
We are also doing what you guys are doing our house is near a place called Ytterhogdhal called Strombacken so will be watching how you both get on, we are planning on living there permantly we currently share out time between England and Sweden. Good luck regards Bianca and Phill
Hi Annie and Julian, have you thought about getting a Berkey to use your water source as drinking water? Thank you for this wonderful video. Take care, Lo 💞
Hello Annie & Julian, I am a Master's student at Lund University, studying Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science. For my master thesis, I'm researching off-grid tiny houses and their role in sustainable living. I'd greatly appreciate your insights on the practical and regulatory barriers hindering their broader implementation, as well as potential solutions. Your experiences would be invaluable. If you're available for an interview (either online, via e-mail or in-person whatever fits you), please let me know. Thank you for considering this request. Best, Elif Ozdemir
Hello Annie, I am reaching out again (I couldn't find an email adress on your channel, sorry) to ask if you want to be a part of my research. The interviews would be late Feb, early March if you are up for it (either online or via email) Thank you :)@@AnnieJulian

Have you considered a Berkey water filter to filter the river water? I hear they work quite well.
Oh, we have to check that out, thank you!

Your little forest home is coming together nicely. Is your plan to live there full time?
Someday maybe 🥰
How is it going with Siskola?

@@AnnieJulian Good! Slowly going forward and the backward and then forward again. 😅
You need to remove the bark from at least one side of the timber or else it will rot.
Really? Thanks! 😊
