- Well that was certainly... something. What are my thoughts as a life-long Doctor Who fan on this tale of babies in space? I think the thumbnail says it all, but please tune in to watch an adult man begrudgingly pick apart an episode of television apparently made for 5-year-olds. It's Babies... Space Babies!

Commenting to boost the algorithms :) Woooo WHO! :D
Yay thank you for the boost!
Completely bonkers episode. I could've done without RTDs love of the scatalogical. Yeah I don't care for 2005's farting Slitheens either
This totally reminded me of that. This is the farting aliens of 2024. However, I think the farting aliens episodes still had some fun political satire and good moments, and had the good grace to plant itself in the middle of the season, not be the season opener!
I definitely understand that a lot of folks won’t share my opinion, but I was *very* annoyed at the “they wouldn’t let them terminate the baby program, but now that the babies are born they won’t help me take care of them either” thinly, *thinly* veiled allegory from the caretaker.
Oh… okay, you did cover that at 13min in 😏 Also, it kinda felt like “boogeyman can’t be a truly bad guy because he is what we made him!” was another…
But regardless of that stuff… this episode and the next just feel poorly written, sometimes poorly performed, and *not* Doctor Who.
Like I told my ex-wife… if people suddenly want us to eat carrots and beans, fine - but don’t put carrots and beans on my pizza or in my Big Mac and tell me to enjoy it or eff off 😅🤷🏻♂️
lol yeah I don’t think this or the next one were very good either. I’ll get my thoughts on that one out soon. Yeah I only briefly went over the allegory because there’s so little to it I didn’t feel like it was worth a deeper discussion, beyond acknowledging that it’s there. Such a strange, bad episode.
It's weird, and puerile. Can it get worse, probably yes
Yeah my opinion for this episode has not improved in the passing weeks lol
"An amazing use of baby mouth CGI" 🤣🤣🤣 Even in your rantiest rant, you still try to find the positives. I feel much more negatively about everything this episode had to offer. I hope the season gets better. This isn't it.
I think I held back a bit tbh lol. This episode is terrible. I'll probably grade it lower when I do an episode ranking for the season at the end of all this. REALLY hoping the upcoming Steven Moffat episode is good.
@@theKtransmission I hope so too! Ncuti and Millie have the potential to be amazing. They just need better dialogue and plot.
@@erinromaneck8839 Agree 100% They're the reasons this episode was still watchable. I'm sure they'll get a good one soon. At least one good episode always manages to squeek by even in the worst Who seasons. 😏
