The GREATEST VIEW in Tahoe // Off Road Noonchester Mine Trail
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 лип 2024
- The Noonchester Mine Trail is a VERY EASY trail that does not require four wheel drive (4WD). As long as you have a little clearance, even a two wheel drive (2WD) crossover or small SUV can take this trail to the GREATEST VIEW in Tahoe. This trail does not take long, and if you are in Tahoe you MUST check it out. (Episode 12 - 6/19/21)

“Comfort is Killer of creativity” thank you!
So true - right?!? 😃
Nicely done video. As someone who lives in Tahoe I'm torn on whether to like it or hate it. Social media has led the hordes to many of the once-quiet spots and the pandemic exodus from the cities has made it a million times worse. So much so that my family is now priced out and having to search for a new place to call home. I know content drives clicks and views but maybe keep that in mind as you run across uncrowded and unspoiled locations.
Great advice. Something to consider for sure. Not looking for clicks - hoping just to inspire people to get out and see the natural wonder around us. I hear you though - it’s tough. This world is changing, and so many awesome spots are getting overrun due to the whole remote work thing (which I’m definitely not a fan of 😫)
Epic views on that trail! My wife and I are planning to visit some family in Tahoe if there's time we definitely will try this trail. Another great video 👍
Thanks Raul! Ya, it’s def easy and worth it!
Amazing as always! Have to make the time!!!
Thanks! I appreciate it! For sure you've got to sometimes slow it down, and get out there for some time to enjoy this life and nature!
Very nice scenic adventure!
Thank you so much! Appreciate it! And, I'm sub'd to you and love your content as well!
I live about an hour south east of the lake so will have to check out this trail. Thanks for the video.
Awesome! You’ll love it!
I just bought myself a grand Cherokee trail hawk and was looking around the Tahoe basin for trails just like what you shown. Thanks
Awesome! Yes, you will love this trail. 100% doable in the Trail Hawk. Congratulations on the new rig! Let me know if you need any GPX files or GPS coordinates. 😀
Great job on the video. What a beautiful trial we are running the Rubicon later this year we will have to take a drive up this trail as well.
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it. Ya, that little trip off the Rubicon is so worth it as a cool-down trip that will get you the most amazing view in the area.
Great job Newbie. Great content, short and to the point. Excellent editing... and perfect timing. We're planning a trip to S. Lake Tahoe this May. I was looking at Blackwood Canyon and Ellis Peak but I think I'll follow your lead.
Thank you so much for reaching out, and the kind words! It’s notes like this that really make the content creation side of things so worth it. 😀👏🏼🙌🏼
Wow. That’s awesome. Good thing you made it up there before the fire. Gonna try to hit this one after the fires.
Thank you! I really appreciate your comment/feedback. Really sad to see the current devastation of the Caldor fire. 😞 South Lake is so beautiful too!
What a great little edit you do a great job with your narrative I do highly appreciate your hard work !
Oh man! That means so much to me! I can’t tell you how much comments like this really keep me going in the content creation side of things! 🙌🏻👊🏼 I’m so glad you enjoyed, and thanks for your comment!! 👏🏻🙌🏻👊🏼😃
@@TrailNewbie ppl like me are in it for the long run you’ve earned my subscription and I’ll definitely keep watching the great content!
@@leeroyadams666 love it..! And again, really appreciate it!! 👏🏻🙌🏻👊🏼
Really well done my friend
Thanks Robert! Appreciate it!
Wow this spot looks amazing! Thanks for sharing I plan to head up and try this trail the first weekend in June :D
Right on! Ya, you’ll love it. An easy day trail - but definitely not boring! So glad you liked the video. 😃
@@TrailNewbie Have you been up there recently? I am curious if snow on the trail will make it hard to access :)
@@knolysjohnson7244 Hi! No, I have not been up since last year. Could be sketchy this early. We went in late June.
Grew up there and never been in that trail. Have done the rubicon anyway
Ya, it’s definitely an easy trail. Just so scenic. Very worth it to check it out if you have a quick day trip - maybe have a lunch stop at the top. Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
Wow! Thank you 🙏
No, thank you!! Appreciate the comment and watching. I love making videos - it’s 💯 for the joy of it. 👏🏼😀
The Wife and I had a blast! Thanks for the inspiration, thinking about some of the other trails up there ....
Right on! So glad you guys had a great and safe trip up there. It’s such a cool spot. Depending on your vehicle, I did a video about the Sierra Buttes - that would be a good one. I didn’t make it to the top due to a tree that fell, but a great spot. It’s in my video called Surrounding the Rubicon.
@@TrailNewbie well it just might be a good time to finish the journey, going to try that or Bowman Lake next. Glad I put some thought into my upgrades, the lift really preformed like I had hoped
@@70ronin54 so awesome! What are the details of your rig?
@@TrailNewbie 2011 Tacoma TRD OR quad cab shortbed 3" Toytec Aluma lift with the add leaf in the rear, JBA UCA's and running 285/75/16 Mickey Thompson's Baja Boss ATs. Still running the Pho bead lock factory rims. Her name is Jedi (lol)
@@70ronin54 so awesome! If you have an Instagram let me know so I can follow!
Oh man I have to check that out. I wonder if my stock 2022 tundra can make it?
Yes, a stock tundra can for sure. If 2WD, just be extra cautious, but you’ll be fine. Need to wait for the show to melt. We went in early June for this video.
When are you up in Northern California next? I’ve got a really similar sleep in Jeep setup like yours. Sleeping in the Jeep is way better. No wind noise, warmer, sealed from the elements and way a quieter. I’d love to show you and the guys some hidden gems off hwy 80 in Placer county.
Awesome!!! Up there from time to time! Can you find me on IG and message me there if you have Instagram? 😃
I don’t have social media. Ha. Old school.
@@ccwstraightshooter9761 Dang! If you’d like, my email is on my website in the contact tab. You can reach out there to stay in touch!
So this looks like a perfect trail for the 1st trail to take my Wife with me
Hey Don! Yep, 100% agree! It’s so good. And short enough where she won’t feel like she’s gone alllllllllllll day on the trail. Ease her into it! 😃😃
Does the trail loop back to the same entrance and exit or where would you come out at ?
It’s pretty much up and back, ya, down the way you came. Depending on the time of year, there are some additional trails up top as well. 😃
Your a great content creator! Would a full size 4x4 truck make the trip to the top without scratching it up
Ah man! Thanks so much! Really appreciate you reaching out. Based on my memory, yes, you would be totally fine. I don’t recall any issues of branches - if there were any, they would have been those minor ones that don’t scratch, just put some stripes through the dust on your rig. If in doubt, just pack a set of hand clippers and or hedge clippers. No shame in that if you’ve got a beauty of a rig! Again, as I recall you’ll be totally good. If you hit the trail, let me know how it goes! 😀👊🏼
@@TrailNewbieYou're welcome! Thank you for scouting out these cool places. I will let you know how it goes. I will be checking it out. Do you have an Instagram? I'm a new subscriber and I'm binge watching your videos now.
@@RR-ty6ki right on!! 😀😀 Yes, indeed. Instagram name is the same @trailnewbie
Thanks for subscribing! Always appreciated! I’m in it for the fun and memories! 👊🏼👏🏻👍🏻
I plan on driving this trail in mid June on my lifted VW Atlas AWD with Falken Wildpeak AT3's. I wonder if my vehicle is too wide for this trail? Awesome video thanks!
No, I don't think the Atlas is too wide. You should be good to go. Only would need to be careful as others might be coming down the hill. There are several areas to pull off and allow someone by. Just remember those traveling uphill have the right of way. I think you'll love this trail!
Awesome, will be doing this trail then with the whole family inside and pic nic at the top. Will do this on a weekday to minimize traffic. We stay on Pine Ridge Rd next to the entrance of the Rubicon. My dad will will accompany us in his Wrangler Sahara JL. Thanks for the info!
@@mattsharrock2141 that's awesome! You won't be disappointed. A really good trail for any skill level. And just a reminder - be extra cautious of the shelf portions of the trail. They are not tight, but certainly a distraction could result in a real problem with any shelf road. Enjoy! Reach out after the trail and let me know how you liked it!!
I am going to pay close attention on the shelf. Thank you
The trail would be fine for a Honda Ridgeline AWD? THANKS
Do you have a map or gps rout of this trail?
Yes! I sure do! Do you happen to have Instagram? If you can find me on there, and message me, I can get your email address and send you the GPX link. 😀
Have you seen anyone camping at the summit?
No, I haven’t. I believe that area is Tahoe Nat’l
Forest, so I’d suggest checking locally what the options are up there from a ranger station.
Most national parks allow for “backcountry camping”, which is the terminology the National Park Service prefers to use
Would the new 2022 Ford Maverick make it up this? I have the AWD/FX4/Towing Package on it.
Yes, if it is all-wheel-drive I think you will be totally fine. Just be very cautious and do not try it if there is any substantial snow. Some of the shelf roads are a very long way down. You would not want to get into any sort of slippery situation on one of those. When I did the trip I believe it was in the early summer so there was just a little bit of runoff. I can look and find the date that we were there if that helps. I think it was late June. You will love this easy trail, the video does not even do it justice!
And, if you'd like the GPX file for the trail, let me know. If you can find me and message me on Instagram I can get it to you!
@@TrailNewbie thank you! We’re definitely going to wait till mid June to take the trail!
@@TrailNewbie2018 Hyundai Santa Fe and may try it
@@danmathisen7015 you should be able to make it! 😃👏🏻
Any bears?
Nope!
Great video until the weird religious stuff
Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃 Sorry I weirded you out - that wasn’t my intent. 😅
@@TrailNewbie any good dispersed camping spots off the trail?
@@grubburg5201 ya, there were some spots you could camp at the top. It’s Tahoe National Forest at the top where I parked and put the drone up. BUT, looking at OnX, there is a weird 🚫 symbol on the trail like it’s closed or something? Might not open until June 15th? I didn’t see any spots with fire rings up there, but there are some spots for sure you could camp IMO. 😃
