When a person stays at home almost everyday now because of the Covid, to go to Germany with two good friends is a blessing. I so enjoyed the tunnel. Can't imagine. I did go under the ocean in an automobile on the east coast many years ago and it was a bit intimidating. But we made it. Thanks again for sharing your trip. Thanks for sharing a bit of high German with us as well. Thanks for sharing your home country.
I loved all of this, Germany is beautiful. The view of the castle from the last portion was picturesque....romantic. Our roots have a way of calling us home. Thank you☺️🌲
Wonderful castle, stunning place, stunning view!!!Your eyes, your smiles are shining during your trip at your homeland!!!Thank you for sharing! Stay safe 👋❤️
You two are adorable! After seeing Joerg's homeland, I can understand why Europeans who visit Atlanta call our city the forested city. Germany's scenic views remind one of our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains here in North Georgia. My 4th great grandfather settled in the Southern USA from Sersheim, Germany in the late 1700s to live and practice his cabinetmaking craftsmanship. He must have found it comforting that the terrain was so similar to his homeland. So enjoy your travels, cooking and shopping!
Both are looking younger than they are!!! I don't know both, but I think, both are inside calmed and relaxed and outside two polite, friendly and loving humans.
Of course we like the video 😍and i feel happy for you because we can see your happiness 😊💖 joerg you are right to be proud of you beautiful village and all beautiful germany 👍 👏👏nadia casablanca ✋✋✋
I just loved the film, and may I say, I see you two as romantic love birds who don't waste time on nonsense and have a truly fine regard for one another and your time together. Cheers!
Oh my god, i'm so happy for you, with the interview! I was also happy with Joerg's happiness in his hometown and eating the famous black forest cake! I'm glad that everything went well, that you saw your family members and that you return with a full heart! it's comforting to see you guys like this! many blessings and PS: and as always, the places are breathtaking
Loved the swabian alps and the castle is now my new favorite. I love English castles and their gardens are stunning but this German castle is the prettiest castle I've ever seen. Thank you for taking us on your trip to Germany. It's a beautiful country for sure. I think the car train is very interesting and I've learned a lot. Your the sweetest couple.
Linda if you love this German castle, you should peruse UA-cam for German Castles. They have some of the most stunning castles in the world. France has some amazing castles too xx
Absolutely stunning country! My late mother was part German. But born and raised in New York. Germany was always her favorite place to visit. Thank you both for all your beautiful videos! 🤗❤️❤️
Ja, Deutschland ist auch schön. Beautiful countryside and very nice views in this. And those cakes!! 😋 I think you would have liked my part of Norway as well. The region of Nord-Østerdalen and the historical mining town of Røros, my mother’s hometown and where I spent a portion of my childhood. Just an hour’s drive from where I live. It is beautiful up here in the mountains and valleys. Although not as dramatical as the western and northern parts of our country. Thank you so much for showing me. Grüss aus Norwegen.
What fun to travel with you two and see your childhood home towns and the beauty around them. I was quite tickled with the folks in small villages listening in to check you two out. 😌
Kirsten and Joerg, Oh the video was wonderful of your time in Germany. I have a special place in my heart for Germany as I lived there in the early and mid 70s. It was glorious. I was able to visit so many castles and see the country side. The food was excellent. Being gluten free would be so hard considering your wonderful bakeries. I am most grateful to all the Europeans who left their homeland and came to America hundreds of years ago and settled this country I live in. I must say, however, Germany has romance and magic I don't find in America. Thank you for sharing your lives. Much love. Be safe.
Wow can't believe how fast your wee trip has flown by but at least, as you say you got to see your family. Thanks for giving us all a sneak peek at where you both are from. Such different architecture and stunning mountains and forests. The cakes look divine. Rest well from your travels.
Kirsten and Joerg- I am so glad that you had a lovely week at home. The views you shared were fantastic! What a beautiful castle! And those cakes...I’ll take a slice of both. 🥰 to you both -Courtney
This is a beautiful video. It's so nice to see Joerg so happy in his lovely hometown and the gorgeous scenery surrounding, and the obvious love you both have for your family. It's also great to see how you manage a big trip and have a great time while still respecting and following the safety rules. You do what you can, and you accept what you cannot do. Like making that big steep hike to the castle instead of taking the tram. Very inspiring. Thank you!

Thank you so much for taking us on vacation with you both. I love everything that you do in your videos. You really could make travel videos because you have talent. I can see that for you. Love U 2. You almost feel like family. Beautiful souls!!!!!!!!
How delightful to see where Joerg grew up. The castle is beautiful. Thank you both for sharing your Germany trip with us. Very much enjoyed this video!! You two are so lovely. Take care... Be safe...💕
Born and raised in a very young country, when I visit the Uk and Europe, the age is palpable. Germany is very beautiful and I want to visit when safe flights resume. The pastries look amazing. Thanks for sharing your fairytale castle and village. Canada is huge and beautiful coast to coast to coast and though trees abound, castles are scarce. Love your vids. 😘🇨🇦
You are both so polite! I would have called that person listening in 'nosey' instead 😂. Such a lovely vlog, Kirsten and Joerg. It took me right back to visiting Germany in the '80s. You have a beautiful homeland and it was a privilege to be a guest on your tour xox
Being nosey is kind of a thing especially with older people in the Swabian lands. They want to know what everybody is doing. If you have an old Swabian woman living on your street, she'll probably know you better than you know yourself
Thank you so much for showing us the beautiful sites in Germany! Everything was wonderful ,and you and Joerg look so relaxed and rested. I'm so happy you both got to spend time with your family and friends.
Thank you for taking us on your wanderings. I love Germany. I hope to visit again. The castles, the rolling hills, majestic rivers, woods and glorious towns and cities. Best wishes and good health to you. From Melbourne, Australia.
I remember little bits of one Summer holiday when we were in Germany...we visited Altina Castle. Mom still has the pictures. And when I heard the church bells ringing it took me back to the sixties! lol When we moved back to Canada, Sundays were strangely quiet of church bells. Funny how the sound took me back to being 8 years old! Thanks for sharing...a surprise trip down "memory lane".
I was flabbergasted to hear you speak of “high German”! My grandparents always joked that they spoke low German but the priest used high German. I always thought they meant that they used slang or intermingled English with their German (which they did). Now I’ll have to research this business of high German. I really want to express my appreciation that you took time out to do TWO videos for us! I know when I go home, I don’t have any time for much besides visiting family. Thank you so much for taking us for another peek into your lives! Side note: I’m in jeans and sweatshirts when I go home- kudos to you for wearing dresses and looking so lovely!
@ Genia Klein High German is “Standard German” which uses the official pronunciation. This is the same in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is understood by everyone speaking German. It is used for everything “official”, which is why it is spoken at church. Low German (Plattdeutsch) is a regional dialect spoken in the north of Germany along the coast of the North and Baltic Sea. It is influenced by Dutch and English.
It's as in England one refers to "The Queeen's English" - it's the official formal version of English with it's unique accent. Similarly there is High German in Germany - it's the offical formal version of German with it's particular accent.
@@ich8159 however the "high" in "High German" doesn't mean it's "better" or something like that. It's just that low German was spoken in the northern low lands and high German was spoken in the southern high lands. Standard German is also called "High German" because it is loosely based on the Southern Grammar and words, although it doesn't match any of the Southern dialects. Low German is very different though and has much more resemblance to Dutch than to modern Standard German.
@@maximilianmustermann5763 - I think your comment was intended for Genia Klein as she was the one who thought there would be a social implication. If you read my comment you will find that I am explaining the geographical aspect and influence by Dutch.
I love your videos, I lived south of Munich for 5 years and my second daughter was born in in Munich . We had a lovely 5 years and my husband worked 5 more years in Bad Godesburg near Bonn he now has dual nationality. You were not far away from where we live now when you were in Glastonbury high street a few weeks ago . Hoping to make a trip to Germany soon and speak Bavarian .
Wonderful trip, very handsome castle, beautiful scenery, “Beckerei” goodies, pretty villages! Love Germany! (Marzipan gefullte Kuchen would be my pick😜😋👌🏻☺️) Thank you for taking us along!🤗
What a beautiful place to grow up in! Seeing views from the castle and from another hillside across from the castle was like having wings. I love the tree-lined path you walked through, too - so much like a state park I visited as a child and have good memories of. Beautiful filming as usual, and sharing your thoughts about everything, including the underwater tunnel and those delicious cakes (marzipan!😋) - Thank you!
Lovely to see you both in Germany. I could eat the marzipan pastry and the black forest gateau, which looked delicious. I enjoyed hearing the church bells and seeing the beautiful scenery. Hope you both arrived home safely.
Enchanting view!! (I cant put that Into words how it felt )I lived in Germany for 3 years as a child. My parents took us camping all over Germany and Europe, but we never went to that castle(and we visited many) That view was glorious 💕🇩🇪🇺🇸Greetings and thank you so much, from New Orleans.
So happy you got to visit your families and even happier you were kind enough to take time out of your busy schedule to make two videos of beautiful Germany for all of your fans, especially those of us in the USA who can’ t travel to Europe right now. Made me so homesick for my second home. When things get back to normal, I highly recommend experiencing Germany and it’s lovely scenery, architecture, and bakeries (to die for) for yourselves.

Can you imagine building that castle then the wall? Joerg what an inspirational place. My 13th gr gandfathe was Prussian now I know where the Trees family came from. His son fought in the American Revolutionary war. Thanks so much. I will be the first one in my family to learn this. They ended up in Pennsylvania with alot of German.farmers. I love your village. It is amazing. I love Bitz.. The panoramic view has no words. It is like going back in time and seeing Germany almost like no people there. Thank you so much. That train is cool.thanks for taking us with you.
Beautiful countryside views! Loved the castle ceiling in gorgeous blue and gold! Glad you crammed in as much as you could whilst you were there, never wasted a moment! No place like home, and for you two, that means your place of birth and your lovely house in England! Great vlog, Thankyou for the all enjoyment! XXX
Thanks so much! Yes, that was the ceiling in the chapel which was stunning. The ceilings in the castle itself were incredibly beautiful too but sadly we weren't allowed to film in there.
Born in Ireland with many Landscapes of Castles , *always loved Belfast Castle, however Joerg and Kirsten Many thanks for the visit to the most wonderful , yes *most Romantic Castle I have ever seen (loved this an hope one day to travel again ) With stunning views Joerg of your homeland an village. Kirsten ( a wee 🤭, surpress laugh myself had like yourself )* The curious neighbor ! How wonderful was your vlog , an so very happy for you both to have had time out with your parents an friends Oh an the delicious pastries , I think I am going to go now to the Pastry shop in my village . with blessings also for sharing the beautiful village Church . Mary Canada 🇨🇦
What beautiful views and such a handsome castle and buildings. The chapel ceiling is wonderful. Joerg is rightly proud of his birthplace. It's lovely to see celebration of one's heritage, when we in the UK are acting ashamed of our statues, buildings and associations with servitude of those eras. It's a breath of fresh air to enjoy a snapshot of this lovely place - thank you. Wishing you a lovely day. 🏰🌳
My Family all came over from Germany, to Canada in the Mid 1800’s. My family thankfully kept the language spoken and my Grandfather’s both spoke the “High German” and my Grandmother’s both spoke the “Low German”. It could get a little bit confusing at times, but I’m so grateful to my parents for keeping it from dying out since all of my siblings still know the language. Many Blessings to you both.
That was lovely to see I’ve often thought about where my sister went while she was in Germany, she did share but that was quite a while ago now, one forgets The train was something I had never seen before or knew about. Lovely castle thank you guys for taking us along
The love of going back home to your childhood. Living in Minnesota during the pandemic I lived 7 hours from the Canadian border and then another hour across the border to my childhood memories in Winnipeg Manitoba. It might have seemed close , only 1 hour Minnesota across the border and yet it may as well have been a million. I did not go mostly because I have people here in Minnesota that need me back to my home in Minnesota. It is still hard for me to make that jump in my head and trust that I can cross the border trusting as I once did. I am grateful for all the times I did travel back before the world change with child like trust and no thoughts of coming back home without restrictions.
Once again thank you for sharing your beautiful hometowns! I felt sad seeing you head back home 😢 but also happy you got to enjoy your family and beautiful Germany!
Thank you for the views of the castle and countryside. The architecture of these homes is so interesting and beautiful. The roofs on the houses are so charming and all of the vines, trees and shrubs growing everywhere. Just beautiful. Our country is only about 250 years old. We have none of the history that you have. Ours is short in the grand scheme of things. Again thank you for sharing. It was good you had time with your families. That’s what was most important.
"Yup" two beautiful people inside and out having a good-time in life.
Thanks so much!
I could not agree more 😀👍

It is amazing. I love Bitz.. The panoramic view has no words. It is like going back in time and seeing Germany almost like no people there. Thank you so much. That train is cool.thanks for taking us with you.
I know, this is what we said as well. Building the wall around the castle and the castle itself was a huge undertaking.
This was so lovely to watch.
Looking forward to the TV interview.
Thank you so much!
It was beautiful what you could film!
Born in Ireland with many Landscapes of Castles , *always loved Belfast Castle, however

Thanks so much!
That was lovely to see I’ve often thought about where my sister went while she was in Germany, she did share but that was quite a while ago now, one forgets
The train was something I had never seen before or knew about.
Lovely castle thank you guys for taking us along
ENCHANTING! FROM THE PEOPLE TO THE VIEWS! SO GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR INVITING US ALONG...!!!!! ❤
Vielen Dank liebe Solveigh! Oh ja, Jörg's Mutter war schon auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt dort und hat uns erzählt, dass der so schön dort ist. Ganz liebe Grüße
@wendy kellyich auch! (me too!)

Kirsten & Joerg I’ve begun teaching myself German, so your German notes and replies are good practice for me to attempt translation!
Kirsten you are amongst the cutest voices on utube, I simply click your channel just to listen for feeling better
Thanks so much!

Thank you for sharing!! Beautiful!!!
God Bless you both
The blue on the Chapel's ceiling was amazing! Thanks for sharing your homeland! Love the happiness on Joergs face when he gets dessert😀😉
