    January 9 was my first resection. I perfed sometime late on the 10th and had emergency surgery on the 11th. When I went home on February 3rd, I was scared, weak and could barely eat anything. I found you on UA-cam and life immediately got better. Thank you and Happy Stomaversary!

    Awwwwww I missed it live. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY...If that is appropriate to say lol 🎉🎉🎉 just over two years for me, this past April. Seems like for many of us, the best decision was getting the surgery and getting something related to our lives, back. Your story is very familiar. I'm glad you've come as far as you have, keep going and keep making your helpful videos. ✌️❤️✌️

      When you lose so much to illness, getting any of it back is a huge deal!!

    Sorry I missed this. Have you done any videos on a prolapsing stoma?

    • @VeganOstomy
      @VeganOstomy  7 років тому

      No problem ;) I haven't made a video on prolapsed stomas, but it's been discussed on my Community Forums by other members. What information would you like to see in a video?

      Vegan Ostomy how to manage it at home. Doc told me what to do about that part but would love input on preventing it. Stoma belt does no good

      From what I understand (through friends who've had a prolapsed stoma) is that a revision is ultimately the goal - you can manage it temporarily, but it's too difficult to care for it long-term.
      Prevention is similar to with hernia prevention: don't lift heavy things, get to an ideal body weight, use caution when sneezing/coughing.

    Thks for this. Is it normal to have bowel motion three months post temp ileostomy surgery. It's not mucus!

      Hey Marie, if you have a loop ileostomy, then that's entirely possible. I've heard of others experiencing the same.
